Chapter 08:Day One

Fuyuki woke up the next day. He looked around.

"...man, it's so depressing to wake up to surroundings like this."

Deal with it. Samara telepathed as her head rose from the water.

"What's wrong with you, did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed?" Fuyuki asked.

No. I'm mad that I actually let myself give a disgusting human such as yourself a chance. She replied.

"Uh, you ARE human..." Fuyuki said.

Other humans, I meant. They're such disgusting creatures.

"What, your mother kills you and you blame it on all of us?"

Exactly.

Fuyuki sighed.

"So...what was your life like? Ya know, before the tests..." He asked a few minutes later.

My parents were freaks. My dad screwed around with nature and my mother was a psychic. She let me be tested on, and than killed me before killing herself. And I was neglected and labled as a freak.

"Damn, you had a screwed up childhood." Fuyuki said.

Remember that comment I made about watching your mouth? Samara telepathed.

"Geez..." There was an awkward silence.

Fuyuki pulled out a book wrapped in waterproof plastic and began to read it.

...Why did you bring a book with you?

"I have to spend seven days in a well with a dead girl. This is to prevent boredom." Fuyuki replied, not taking his eyes off it.

Samara looked closer. She swam closer to get a good look at the book. Fuyuki's eyes peeked over at her from the tips of the book.

"Do you mind?" He asked.

That book. What's it about?

"It's called The Outsiders. It's about two groups, greasers and Socs, and there conflicts."

Fuyuki grinned.

"Kinda like us. Your the Soc, always torturing me, my family, and my friends. We represent the greasers."

Samara said nothing as she went back to her corner.

Netto sighed. He had nothing to do. It was summer break, and the seven days felt like they were taking forever.

"Netto?" Rockman said.

"You have an email. It's from Dingo."

Netto picked up his PET and read it.

The email said the following:

Hey Netto, I know you're still upset about what's happened, but how about we go somewhere for awhile to take our minds off this? Iris agreed to come as well. If you want to go, than send me back another email ASAP, okay? -Dingo.

Netto said "Alright. Rockman, can you bring Tomahawkman my reply? I'm going wherever Dingo planned."

Rockman nodded. Netto plugged him into the internet and Rockman went off to deliver the message.

Fuyuki sighed and put the book down into the water, where it sank to the bottom.

"Samara." He said.

"How do you go to the bathroom in here?''

You don't.

Fuyuki sighed.

"Greeeaaaat..."

He looked up and saw the white sky above him with the tree branches sticking up towards it.

"I remember, as a kid, I would always wonder what it would be like to climb up to the top of a tree, and touch the sky. It was pretty stupid, I know, but it was fun while it lasted." He said.

...And you're telling me this why?

"Just reminiscing." He said.

Samara looked at him quizzically. At least it looked like that. It was hard to tell with her face all decayed.

...The only fun I ever had in my life was knowing that I wasn't just human. I was special. But that fun evaporated when they started to test me. Samara telepathed.

"Hmm..." Fuyuki said. "Maybe you aren't so bad after all..."

Chapter 10:Day Two

Netto walked over the the metroline to meet Dingo and Iris. They all said hi.

"So where are we going?" Netto asked.

"Actually, we're going to an unnamed island just north of Oran. Nobody really knows why, but for some reason everyone who approaches it becomes deathly afraid. I wanted to check it out, and Iris seemed interested as well." Dingo said.

Iris nodded.

"Sounds good to me." Netto said, smiling.

They all went to SciLab's docks via the metroline and found a boat ready to set sail for the place.

"Where is this well, anyways?" Fuyuki asked Samara after finishing The Outsider.

An island.

"You mean I'm in a well with a dead girl and this well is on a freaking island?!?" Fuyuki asked.

No shit, sherlock. Samara telepathed.

"A cocky dead girl, at that." Fuyuki sighed.

Changing the subject, Samara said I told you about my childhood, what was yours like?

Fuyuki sighed. "This is a long one..."

"I'm the oldest of the Hikari triplets. By the age of 3, SciLab found out I had a very high intelligence level. As a result, I finished high school at the age of 6. Around that time, my brothers were born."

"Since I had nothing to do, I would help my dad out at SciLab. He gave me an experimental navi named Terra. She was the first navi to have a human soul. After that, my dad tried to do so again, but nothing worked. The whole SciLab staff gave up on the project and tried a new one: Creating a cybersuit that would allow humans into the cyberworld."

"I volunteered for one of the experiments with it, but there was an error and I became half-navi, half-human. To make things worse, one of my brothers died, and I couldn't see the rest of my family in my current state. Sure, we managed to put my dead brother's soul into a navi's body succesfully, even better than we did with Terra, but I couldn't see him. It was that way for 9 years.'' Fuyuki finished.

Damn. That's almost as bad as my childhood. Samara telepathed.

"And yet I didn't go insane from it all and try to kill everyone. Very unlike you." Fuyuki said.

I went through hell during those tests. I had a right to kill them!!!

Fuyuki sighed.

"There's no covincing you, huh?" He said to himself.

Iris, Netto, and Dingo arrived on the island.

"Well I can see why everyone's afraid of this place. Look at it." Netto said.

The area just beyond shore was covered in vines, and shortly beyond that were forests. A huge ruin stuck up from the direct center of the forest.

"As if that's not a dead giveaway of something ominous." Dingo said.

"Let's go." Iris said.

All three of them proceeded into the forest. There was a slight path. All 3 of them looked around.

"This place is pretty creepy..." Netto said.

Everything seemed ancient, although it was obvious this forest wasn't too old.

"And the life in this forest is wierd." Dingo said, observing a rather large dragonfly that flew by.

Iris was silent.

"That ruin is located not too far from here." She said after awhile.

"Then let's hurry up, this forest is freaking me out." Netto said.

"You know, not all humans are bad." Fuyuki said to Samara.

That's what I believed...until I was proven wrong. Samara said.

"It's true. Well, I may not be a good example, seeing as I've killed someone before...but my brother, Netto. He could never do anything evil or unfair to another person, no matter how evil that person might be."

One human.

"Oh, not true. I'll prove you wrong by the end of this week that not all humans are bad." Fuyuki declared.

Chapter 11:Day Three

Netto, Dingo, and even Iris all stared at the site before them, awestruck. The giant ruin was a huge building in the middle of a forgotten city. The city looked normal, but there was no activity in it. All of the buildings looked old and like they would collapse at any second.

"Woah..." Netto said.

"This is one of the freakiest things I've ever seen." Dingo said.

Iris just stared at the huge ruin, wide-eyed.

"This place reminds me of Beyondard..." She said.

"...I know this sounds crazy, but does anyone want to explore this place?" Dingo said.

"Well...I don't see why not..." Netto said.

"We'll split up into groups and search." Iris said.

"Do we have to split up?!?" Netto asked.

"Yes." Iris said. "Why? Are you too afraid to be alone?" She added.

"Am not!!!" Netto said.

"I'm going this way!" He said, pointing walking off.

"I guess I'll go the opposite way..." Dingo said, doing so.

Iris walked to the huge building.

Fuyuki looked at his hand. The skin was wrinkled like crazy.

"I guess that's what happens when you stay down here for three days straight..." He said.

Quit complaining. You won't be all wrinkled at the end of this week. Samara telepathed.

"Really?" Fuyuki asked.

No. You're skin will be green.

"WHAT?!?" Fuyuki shouted. "You never told me I'd end up looking like a zombified freak!"

I didn't have to. Samara telepathed.

"You're evil..." Fuyuki said, sinking down into the water.

Than he looked at the water.

"Strange." He said. "This stuff reminds me-"

Of a strange goop that was at SciLab? Samara telepathed.

"Holy crap, how'd you know?" Fuyuki replied.

They used it on me at SciLab. It was a strange goo that traps whatever it touches inside of it. They were testing to see if I could warp out of it. Samara replied.

''Wow. I remember seeing it as a kid, but I never knew it did that." Fuyuki said.

There are many things you don't know about that place. You-

"Yeah yeah, whatever. This is gonna be something about how they tortured you and you had to kill them for it. Give it a rest." Fuyuki interupted her.

Samara said nothing as she slowly slid down into the water.

Iris was in the big building, on the second floor. From what she had seen, it was a kind of office. She explored the desolate area, but found nothing unusual other thanthe crumbling interior and abandoned cubicles. However, there was one she hadn't checked. It was giving off a strange aura.

Iris went into it and gasped.

The chair and desk was covered in blood. The computer on the desk was destroyed, and the papers were torn to shreds. A TV stood on the desk, also broken. What was there that wasn't broken, though, was a hand. A human hand, with no body attached to it. The hand was gripping what appeared to be a diary.

Iris took the hand and threw it to the floor and opened the diary. She read through the pages, filled with shock. They all said the following:

Monday, January 2nd:

A girl from our city claiming to have supernatural powers was taken from here to the mainland to be tested on, with her parents coming as well. It's a shame, her father's a friend of mine. I hope they come back soon.

Tuesday, January 3rd:
Work has been hard. I'm keeping in touch with my friend over email. From what he tells me, his little girl is going through hell at a labratory over at the mainland. I believe it's name was SciLab. It's been hard to focus with so much that's been going on.

Thursday, January 4th:
According to my friend, his daughter has a strange power. She's been warping around the test room in SciLab, and she killed a scientist using her mind, apparently. Also, she's said something that has everyone their afraid: "Everyone will suffer."

Monday, January 8th:
My friend's wife called me today. He died. They found him dead in a shower, but he still had his clothes on. He had several electric devices strapped to himself, and he was in a pool of bloody water when they found him. I better start on my paperwork, but it's so hard to concentrate...

Tuesday, January 9th:
It appeared in the news. My friend's widdowed wife has commit suicide. No one knows the whereabouts of their daughter. They searched the area but all the found was a well.

Friday, January 12th:
I picked up a strange videotape today. It looked like someone's nightmare had been recorded onto the tape. Strangly, when I finished it, I recieved a phone call saying only '7 days...'

Tuesday, January 16th:
I must be going mad! I keep recieving phone calls from someone saying ''7 days'' and I've been feeling a sense of dread. What's come over me?

Friday, January 19th:
What on Earth is happening? I was watching my TV here when suddenly a picture of a well popped up! It's the same well from the videotape I saw. Now I must be going insane, I see a girl coming out of the well! She looks decaying. Why am I worried about this? I...

The last entry was incomplete.

"Oh...my..." Iris put the book down, and was horrified.

So this is where the tape was first viewed. This place is where Samara first struck. Suddenly, something cracked. Realizing she wasn't alone, Iris tore like heck to the stairs. She would get out of this place...or die trying.

"You know, I can actually relate to you." Fuyuki said.

How so? Samara asked.

"Those years I spent as a half-navi freakshow...and even the scientists who knew me as a kid started treating me like an abomination. I was tempted to go up to one and grab him by his neck, and ask why they treated me so when it was their fault in the first place for not making sure there were any errors with the machine..." Fuyuki replied.

I see... Samara said.

"I just have one question for you, Samara." Fuyuki said.

And that is...

"Did killing all of them for revenge...did that really satisfy you?" He asked.

...Yes. Samara replied.

"She was hesistant to answer...so is she hiding what she really thought?" Fuyuki said to himself.

Me likeys! I feel really sorry for Samara now... she seems so misuderstood! With the part of Iris, Netto, and Dingo, the horror fics just seems more suspenseful! I'm a really big fan of horror, I can't wait to read the next part!

We're drawing to a close, the curse is nearly ended!!!

Chapter 12:Stranded.

Netto was on the island outskirts, checking out the area. From a rock that allowed him to climb a tree to the top of the large building Iris was in.

"Hehe...now I know how monkeys feel!" Netto said, climbing from the tree to the building top.

Rockman was silent, looking around from his PET. Than he spotted something that made him pale.

"Netto-kun?" He asked in a shivery voice.

"Yeah, Rockman?"

"Look over there..." Netto looked at Rockman, and than were he was pointing, and his eyes widened and he grew filled with fear.

"Oh...crap..." Netto said.

Further into the island, Netto saw that the lush, forest life had started to die out, and dead, leafless trees that stuck up towards the sky started to appear frequently in that area. But even worse, was that the trees eventually formed into a clearing. And in the center of that clearing was an all-too-familiar well.

"Fuyuki...and Samara...they're right there..." Netto said.

"We've got to tell the others." Rockman said.

Netto nodded, and started climbing down as fast as he could.

Iris ran. She could feel the thing she sensed earlier was now stalking her, wanting her. It's lust for a kill was insane. She had just reached the bottom floor when she tripped and fell.

"Ow..." She said, and than heard a moan.

Iris look up and screamed. The thing that had been stalking her was looming right over her. It was a human...or at least was human.

Half of the skin on it's head was removed, showing parts of it's skull with some skin still left. Part of the skull was gone, and a brain was showing right through. The rest of the body was mutated, and a lot of bones were sticking out. Iris had just thought herself to be dead when something flew by and struck the mutant's brain, dead center, causing it to fall down, dead. The item was a tomahawk.

Iris looked forward and saw Dingo and Netto.

"Whew, looks like my throwing skills aren't that bad." Dingo said, walking over and plucking the tomahawk out of the brain.

"You okay?" Dingo added on.

"Yeah...thanks." Iris said.

"Thank Netto. He's the one who found out why this whole island gives off a sense of dread, and found me to come tell you." Dingo replied.

Netto walked over and helped Iris up. The girl was still panting heavily. This was the first time she had ever been truly scared.

"Iris, calm down. It's gone now." Netto said reassuringly.

Iris calmed down.

"Thank you, Netto." She said.

"Eew...brain fluid." Dingo said, looking at his tomahawk.

"I hope there's a sink around here." He added, looking around.

"So Netto, what's wrong with this island?" Iris asked.

"Come to think of it, all you told me was it was cursed." Dingo said, no longer looking for a sink.

"Let's get out of this building first." Netto said.

When they left, Netto said "I saw a little bit beyond this city, to the farther reaches of the forest. The trees start to die out and form a clearing. And guess what is in that clearing?" Netto said.

When none of them spoke, but just stared wide eyed, he confirmed their fears by saying "Samara's Well. I'm guessing her presence is making this island cursed."

"Amazing he found it out by himself." Rockman whispered to Tomahawkman.

Tomahawkman tried to muffle his laughter by making it sound like coughing.

"Let's get off this island, I don't feel safe here." Dingo said.

All three of them went to where the boat was parked, but it was no longer there.

"Oh...shit..." Netto said.

"We're stuck on this island..." Iris said, shaking.

Fuyuki yawned and asked "How many days have I been down here?"

Four.

"Dammit, I knew it wasn't six days..." Than he looked at Samara.

"You know, I've been wondering something. Mind if I ask you a question?"

Go ahead.

"Due to the fact that you're a zombie and can't feel any pain, does that mean you're super flexible?"

Samara replied Perhaps I should demonstrate.

Samara climbed up to the top of the well and than again to the bottom, but she did it really fast by manuevering her body in a way that would break a normal person's backbone several times.

"Wow...that's amazing, and disgusting at the same time." Fuyuki said.

It was quiet.

You know, if you want, I'll let you leave this well on the fifth day, which is tomorrow.

Fuyuki stared at her.

"What's the catch?" He asked.

Samara said I'm just feeling generous.

Fuyuki though in the back of his head Her? Generous? Something's wrong here...
