So playing games that don't have some kawaii bishie main character with outrageous hair and some odd ability/weapon with zany allies and an all-powerful enemy that wants to destroy the world with some stupidly cliche scheme makes them not have an imagination? roffles
You need to stop using only the 360 as your example to attack.
edit: no wait, American games in general.

Move to Japan. Import games. Stop complaining.

True...my friend's older brother has one and he only plays Halo 2 on it.

Auto Theft, too me it's a pointless plot it goes from killing, running from the cops, avoid the cops, mature and sexual themes, blah, blah, blah and many pointless stuff. I would fall asleep from it in less than 4 minutes from it.

...So yeah, I believe Japanese people are luckier than us really. >.<

I agree about GTA. lol

Namco x Capcom isn't neccessarily Japan only though.. it's pretty new there, so it might still come out here eventually.

My big beefs about non-released games are for Klonoa Heroes and Snobow Kids Plus (AKA Snowboard Kids). I'm hoping that Namco will decide to bring Klonoa Heroes over here finally, since it did manage to bring Dream Champ Tournament after 3 years of inactivity.

But it was really sad that they never gave us Snobow Kids Plus. It's SUCH a hard import game to find; released in 1999 and not super popular over there. It was a remake of the first game for N64, with tons of extras. Alternate costumes, updated graphics, more characters, and anime cinema scenes. ;_;

To add to that, it's really not looking very far when you say that either.

While I agree that Japanese games tend to get more creativity plotwise than American ones, I've still found plenty of games on either side that in terms of both gameplay and story, rehash things or just make small changes to the formula. (Not that this is always bad)

Then some games on both sides that try and bring something new to a genre, or do something creative that's barely been seen before. (And opposite of the other, not that this is always good)

Well GUESS WHAT?
Not everyone has the money to move to Japan. Besides, I imagine living there and learning the language would be very hard.

But you are right about one thing. Stop complaining.
So what if they don't give us a few games? I'm sure that we do the same thing to them. What if they want to have something exclusive to their culture? The world isn't always fair.

If you're not willing to Import or learn Japanese then you have no right to complain

You're not insinuating that I'm complaining are you? Because I'm not.
It's not even mandatory to learn the language to play a japanese game.
You could read various FAQ's for the story and how to get through the game.

But still you have to wonder how many times EA and crap can make games about World War II before finally thinking enough is enough.

I mean Medal of Honor was one thing but now they've just started into the multitude's of ripoff series, which are basically the SAME DAMN THING!

And here I thought the whole Tycoon series would be a better example.

Nice, Jason Cox.

Medal of Honor is the only WW2 franchise EA owns, and most of the MoA games are based on different battles. You might want to actually do some research on them before spouting false shit.

Really, this is all about personal preference. I don't like the Xbox and some people might not.

I hate it.

It's the worst game system ever! Please don't start flaming me for that. It's my personal opinion.

I think this is all about personal preference. Japan may have an edge in series role-player-type games that necessitate a smooth and flowing plotline. Case in point: ROKKUMAN EGUZE, Final Fantasy

American gamers on the other hand seem to find great fandom and loyalty in multiplayer games like Counter Strike and Halo. These games may not have a plot, at least not an easily discernible one, but they sure are addictive to play.

Basically, what it all comes down to is customer preference. I really don't think Japan is trying to torture anybody; both Japan and America put their products on the market and whoever buys them, buys them. It's really all about what YOU want to play, and the diversity of Japanese and American games make it easy for people to find something they like.

If you gave actual reasons as why you hate it, it would work even better than just saying that you hate it.

By the way, the xbox isn't even the main point of this topic. Failed.

Oh so you're saying I DON'T know my history then? I know that most of the MoH games have different battles in them. Such as MoH, MoH: Underground, MoH European Assault, MoH Frontline, MoH Rising Sun. I've played EVERY single damn one of those so don't tell me I'm making shit up. Oh not to mention that I actually said I LIKED MoH.

Oh and by ripoff series I meant stuff like Call to Duty, or Brothers in Arms which basically follow the same DAMN formula of MoH except they have a few tweaks in their gameplay. Still it's good to see how nobody even picked that up in my last post. Seems like you should really find out what I'm talking about before acting like an ass Zan.

Oh and forgive me for thinking that EA owned all of those WWII series. Gee guess that was my mistake.

Wow. Two years on, que nada has actually changed, except perhaps swearing is little more tolerated than in my day (sorry, did I say 'tolerated'? I meant 'mormons'). Oh, were but for simplicity's sake we could all just get along.

Yes, EA is often seen as the evils of computer gaming what with its incredible approach to success by releasing franchise after franchise of disillusioned serials such as FIFA Football and film tie-ins [read cash-ins] such as the Potter series and the now partially discontinued Rings series (I say discontinued because EA have realised that cannot rely on the series' reputation alone anymore). But has anyone really thought about what EA has done? The FIFA series has gone from strength to strength now it has Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer to contend with - it's mass purchase of name rights isn't enough anymore and FIFA 2005 is a clear indication that EA understand they can't sit back on their laurels anymore. The Lord of the Rings series is often quoted as the most successful and genuine computer game to its source material - EA are treating the franchise with an unexpected respect, why else would they bother to purchase the rights to the literature from Vivendi? And, of course, Criterion's Burnout series has not suffered or stuttered one iota under EA's banner. Maybe everyone here should perhaps think a little before belittling a company for stereotypical and otherwise brainless [read good] business management.

Administrator and moderator alert; I've gone off-topic.

Besides, few here are in any real position to criticise for cheap spin-offs and idiots buying the same games over and over. Capcom have quite competantly bought an entire audience with a 15 year franchise which has gone little to compete or contend with modern video gaming - after all, the X series is wavering under the 3D banner, the Battle Network series has undergone several sequels and spin-offs (including the dreaded 'card-based battle system') which also retaining [near] identical sprites and graphics. Star X showed us how the GBA can handle 3D graphics, the Golden Sun series has showed us how to create an immersive RPG system, Yoshi's Universal Gravitation has showed us how a novel input system can make a game memorable. Why are we still playing Battle Network: Team Colonel? Because Capcom has a cult following, one who treasure the Blue Bomber's mere existance over what should be his stylish and 15-years-of-computer-game-experience gameplay. Instead we're fobbed off with Mission Command.

And, for the sake of on-topicness, I hate to see how Megaman deals with the next generation of consoles, of Blu-ray and holographic DVD systems capable of 500gb storage. What will Capcom do with all that? Create another Axl?
