The Chosen: A Rockman/SailorMoon Crossover *warnings inside*

Netto, Laika and Enzan returned to their hotel room and without really talking about what had happened that day they ate, took showers and jumped into bed. “Hey, Enzan?” Netto asked softly.

“Yeah?” Enzan replied.

“Think they’re gonna make us talk tomorrow?” Netto asked.

“Why, scared of talking in public?” Enzan teased.

Netto bristled, “No!”

“Why the concern?” Laika asked.

“I’m just worried they’re going to try and do something sneaky cause we’re kids,” Netto pointed out.

“I wouldn’t put it past them,” Enzan sighed.

Laika nodded his head in agreement while his navi said, “Maybe you should try not to draw too much attention then.”

Netto looked slightly annoyed, “And when do I do that?”

Enzan snorted and threw a pillow at Netto, aiming it so it hit him square in the face. The pillow hit him with a muffled thumping sound and fell off to land in his lap. “All the time,” Enzan answered.

Netto looked even more annoyed as he tossed the pillow back to Enzan who caught it before it could hit him. “Fine then, I just won’t say anything.”

There was a precarious moment where everyone in the room almost started to laugh to some extent before they managed to swallow it and pretended to have not heard the comment. Netto noticed this of course, but he didn’t say anything, instead he pulled out the covers and slid between them, turning off the light nearest him before laying down on the bed.

“Ready to sleep?” Enzan asked softly.

“Yeah,” Netto replied.

Enzan shrugged and followed Netto example, then Laika. Finally, after about ten minutes all was silent as the three boys slept peacefully.

At Rei’s shrine the strange animal that they had rescued a few days before started to mewl loudly as if in pain. Rei cursed as her concentration was broken while she was in meditation. She stood up and walked outside to try and console the distressed creature. “What’s wrong?” she asked it.

It looked at her and mewled again. Then it looked out into the darkness. Out a ways there was the presence of another alien animal. Rei took in a sharp breath and got ready to transform if need be.

It proved to be an unneeded move as two small animals came into the dim light the temple was making, leaning on one another and looking very beaten up. The strange creature at her feet leapt off to examine their wounds and lick them as if trying to heal the poor creatures.

Rei looked at one, then the other. The first one looked something like a normal dog, however its paws were rather large and it’s ears were shaped more like a cat’s then a dog’s. The second creature was about the size of the dog like animal, but it looked more like a raccoon except that its tail wasn’t ringed, in fact the animal was pale blue in color. She gave a heavy sigh as she went out to get them, just what she needed, more complication.

“Netto-kun,” Rockman said softly.

“Hm?” Netto groaned.

“Time to get up,” Rockman told him cheerfully.

“No way…” Netto groaned. “Too early.”

“Come on, Laika-san and Enzan-san are already up,” Rockman chided him.

“Because they’re robots,” Netto said darkly. “I’m human, now go away and let me sleep.”

Enzan walked over and pulled the covers off Netto in one swift move, making the smaller boy curl up into a ball to ward off the cold. “Who’s a robot?” he asked.

“Mmmm…” Netto groaned unintelligibly as he vainly clung to the last strands of sleep in his mind.

“Get up,” Enzan sighed.

Netto groaned as he rolled out of bed and stood up stiffly. “Good morning to you too,” he muttered darkly as he went into the bathroom.

Enzan shrugged and walked out of the hotel room in search of a cup of coffee.

Later that morning all three boys reported to the conference room and got ready to take it as the representatives of Electopia. Or at the very least, Netto and Enzan did. Laika was a bit more relaxed because he was technically representing his own country of Sharro.

“Now, we look on Electopia’s handling of Net Crime,” the man said.

Manabe sighed and stood up while holding a sheaf of paper to look down at in case she forgot any numbers. “In the past year we’ve seen a 5% decrease in Net Crime, a 10% increase in convicted arrests, a 12% increase in Uranet activity and a 4% increase in navi related crime. More over…”

It was about then when Netto decided it was to his best advantage to zone out before anyone had a chance to say anything that might upset him. “…etto Hikari…”

“Hm?” Netto asked.

“Netto Hikari!” a sharp voice barked, making Netto jump and look around guiltily.

“Yes?” he asked sheepishly.

“It might do you some good to pay attention to the well being of your own country,” the head said darkly.

Netto blushed while Enzan shook his head slowly. “S-sorry sir.”

“Mind answering my question?” the man asked.

“Can you repeat it?” Netto asked in a small voice.

There was a titter of laughter as the man cleared his throat. “I asked, what has your activity been in the past.”

“Sir?” Netto asked.

“What have you done,” the man said bluntly.

“Oh,” Netto said. “Well, umm… two years ago after the grand prix Rockman and I took down WWW with Blues’ and Enzan’s help. Then we took down Gospel with help from my friends, then we took down Neo WWW, Nebula, Duo and Nebula Gray not really in that order. Oh, and the whole Asteroid and Darkloid thing,” Netto said. “Umm…”

Everyone in the room silently gaped at the boy as he named off the various Net Mafia’s and criminals he had played a key part in taking down. After he was done the man blinked, “How old are you, son?”

Netto smiled, “I turn 13 pretty soon, mister.”

Enzan wished for all the world that he had a camera because the expression on the head’s face was priceless.

“Well then,” the man cleared his throat. “You may sit down.”

Netto took his seat and leaned back on the table. “Whew…” he sighed.

“Did you do that on purpose?” Enzan asked.

“Do what?”

Enzan shook his head, “Never mind,” he said with a small smile.

“Huh?” Netto asked no one in particular.

Rockman shrugged, “Beats me. But maybe this time you should pay attention.”

“R-right,” Netto replied and straightened up. After that he stared at the clock intently until they were released.

Indeed.

The anecdote where Netto rattled off his accomplishments like they were no matter was amusing, since it could be said that that one child did more than the entire 'esteemed' committee had ever done, and in such a short span as well.

I too am curious as to what this creature is, and how they shall play a role in the story as a whole. Other than that, great work as usual.

After the small ordeal was over Manabe gave them the rest of the time to themselves, just for the sake of making sure nothing else happened while they were there. It wasn’t east sitting still in that room all day, even for adults and Netto was beginning to reach the end of his rope by the time six hours had passed.

“Tired?” Enzan asked him as he stretched.

“Completely,” Netto groaned. “So many questions.”

“It’s their job,” Laika told him.

Netto grinned faintly, “Yeah, I know, but that was still extremely boring.”

Rockman sighed inside his PET. “I have to admit that Netto-kun is right. Even if it was Electopia’s turn, it was still pretty dull.”

“See?” Netto asked.

“We weren’t arguing,” Enzan reminded him dryly.

Rockman giggled and Netto smiled sheepishly, “Right,” he said.

The three boys returned to their hotel room and lounged around for a bit. They were al admittedly tired, and the strain of the week was beginning to take its toll on them. Netto fiddled around with his PET for an hour or so while Enzan and Laika played a silent game of chess. However it wasn’t long before Nova mysteriously appeared in the room.

“Hello?” she asked to the still room.

All of the boys and their navis were totally absorbed in what they were doing, or in some cases watching, and no one really replied. Nova sighed and jumped onto the table where Enzan and Laika were playing chess and glared at them. “Hello,” she said again.

Enzan looked up at her, blinked then returned to his game. “What do you want?” he asked.

Nova looked slightly annoyed at him for being so rude, “I wanted to check on you. After all you’ve been pretty tied up in the events over the past few days.”

Laika shrugged, “Well, it doesn’t matter now much, does it?”

Nova sighed and jumped off the table, leaving the boys to their rigorous chess match. She padded over to where Netto was just finishing up the small hard ware updates to his PET. She jumped up onto the bed and sat in front of him. “Are you going to brush me off to?” she asked.

Netto laughed shortly and turned on his PET, watching carefully as Rockman’s image slowly came on, “No, I’m not as bad as them,” he said loudly.

“You’re just annoying,” Enzan muttered.

Netto frowned but didn’t retaliate. Nova shook her head amusedly and sighed, “Well, I’m glad to see the antics of the past few days hasn’t upset you at all.”

“We’re used to it,” Netto said bluntly.

Rockman nodded, “He’s right. There isn’t much we’re not used to at this point. It comes from what we do.”

Nova let out a small sigh and curled up. “Well then, looks like I worried for naught.”

Netto shrugged, “There isn’t much point in worrying about anything, is there?” he asked. “You kind of just have to take things into your own hands if you don’t like to worry.”

Nova laughed, “You certainly do see the world through a child’s eyes, Netto.”

Netto bristled, “And what does that mean?” he asked.

Rockman chuckled, “She just means that you think in unique way. That’s all.”

Netto crossed his arms, “So do you,” he huffed.

Rockman nodded, “I’m well aware,” he told Netto.

Netto looked back down at Nova, “So, what are you planning?” he asked her.

Nova opened a sleepy eye to gaze at him, “For now, nothing. I’m tired and I need some rest before I continue on my current mission. Is that all right?”

Netto shrugged, “Do whatever you want. Just don’t get caught in here by anyone else.”

Nova snorted, “I don’t intend to,” she said dryly.

A little over an hour later, Netto had convinced Enzan and Laika that they should go out for dinner so they didn’t have to put up with the council members being annoying. After going over what had happened that day the two boys readily agreed and Nova decided to go along with them for fun.

They walked down the street at a relaxed pace looking at what the shops had to offer and the colorful city life in general. “It’s nice out, huh?” Netto asked.

Nova looked around from her vantage point on Netto’s head. “Nice,” she agreed simply.

Rockman looked out of his PET, “It’s very busy though, isn’t it?”

“It’s rush hour,” Blues pointed out.

Enzan smiled a little, “Reminds me of some of the larger cities I go to for work.”

“Your business trips?” Laika asked.

Enzan nodded, “Yeah. But I don’t see much of the city when I go on them.”

Netto frowned, “That sucks. What’s the point of traveling to new places if you can’t see them?”

Enzan shrugged, “Who says I have to see the places I travel. Work is work, Netto.”

Rockman laughed as Netto made a face. “I don’t think he agrees with that, Enzan-san.”

“No, apparently not,” Enzan said dryly.

“Laika-san, are you getting hot?” Searchman asked his operator, who was still in full Sharro Militia garb.

Laika shrugged, “I’m fine,” he said stiffly.

Enzan and Netto looked slightly amused because it was rather warm out, but Laika was too proud to admit something like the weather being too hot for wearing a long sleeved shirt and an over coat in such weather.

Nova sniffed, “You three are quite interesting.”

“Six,” Netto automatically corrected her.

Nova blinked, then nodded. “Ah, yes,” she said. “Six.”

Rockman laughed, “We’re all different but that’s what makes us strong.”

Netto nodded, “Right.”

Laika stopped in front of a small street side café and pointed at it. “Would here be okay?”

“Can we eat outside?” Netto asked happily.

“Sure,” Laika said. “I just want to eat at this point.”

“Yay,” Netto cheered and followed his friend into the café. Enzan shrugged and followed them inside.

Usagi peered at the two new creatures, “What are they?”

“Isn’t it obvious?” Luna asked. “They’re guardians.”

The one that they had to fight mewled loudly and waggled its large ears before licking the one that was wounded.

“It looks like the bad people tried to get them,” Makoto murmured as she stroked the small creature. It made an odd noise that sounded like a purr and leaned into the petting.

“Heh, it’s pretty cute,” Minako said and leaned in to pet it as well.

Ami stroked her chin, “Well, I think the best idea right now might be to try and find Nova. She would know more about them then we would.”

Luna nodded, “That sounds like a good idea. But where is she?”

Usagi rubbed her head, “Do we ever know where that crazy cat is? You didn’t even know she was alive last week.”

Luna smiled sheepishly, “That’s true.”

Ami frowned and looked thoughtful for a few silent minutes while Usagi, Minako and Makoto played with the animals.

Rei walked over and put her hand on Ami’s shoulder, jerking the shorter girl out of her deep thoughts. “What on earth are you thinking about?” Rei asked her with a small smile.

Ami sighed, “Well, a lot of the time when we see nova she’s with those boys, right?”

“Yeah,” Luna said. “I’m not sure, but she seems very concerned about those children.”

“She doesn’t want them to get caught up in this,” Artemis said while padding over to see what they were talking about.

“Understandable,” Ami noted. “But if we knew where those boys were then maybe we could find Nova. I mean it can’t hurt, can it?”

Luna shook her head, “No, it shouldn’t. But were are the kids?”

Usagi popped up holding onto the strange cat like creature. “I got the e-mail of the one brown haired kid… ummm…”

“Netto-kun?” Ami asked.

“Yeah, Netto was his name. We traded in case he ever came back to Tokyo,” Usagi said with a smile. “His navi said something about getting lost.”

Rei laughed, “Because you don’t get lost enough yourself.”

“What was that?” Usagi snapped.

“Oh, nothing,” Rei answered airily.

Before Usagi could retaliate Makoto managed to step between them and head off the potentially ugly argument. “All right, so where is this address?” she asked Usagi.

Netto took another bite of his hamburger happily. “This is so much better then the hotel stuff.”

Laika and Enzan both nodded in silent agreement.

Rockman laughed then stopped abruptly. “Rockman?” Netto asked with his mouth full.

“Netto-kun, you have an e-mail,” Rockman told his operator.

Netto swallowed hard. “From who?” he asked.

“Usagi-san, she asked if Nova is with us,” Rockman said in a puzzled voice.

“Huh, yeah,” Netto replied. “Just tell her yes and ask why?”

Rockman did so while Netto took another big bite of the hamburger. The reply was almost instantaneous. “She says that she needs to see her…” he said slowly.

Netto looked down at Nova. “Do you know them or something?” he asked.

“Swallow your food, Netto-kun,” Rockman reminded his operator gently. Netto did so without making another comment.

Nova sighed, “Yes. I guess it’s something rather important.”

“Just send them the name of the café,” Laika said stiffly while taking another bite of his salad.

Enzan frowned, “Why those girls?”

Netto shrugged, “Who knows? Maybe we’ll find out.”

“Maybe…” Rockman said softly.

Yay~~ One of my favourite fics gets updated!! \o/ And while it doesn't seem to have any action (or answers for that matter) it's a nice breather.

... One does have to eventually wonder... Isn't Laika hot in that outfit?? o_O Can't wait for the next chapter (and break so I can start working on Doujinshis for you~)

Usagi received Netto’s reply and read it. “They’re at the Café by the TV station,” she said slowly. “Okay, we can go there. Think Nova will be there?” she asked slowly.

Luna jumped onto Usagi’s shoulder and sighed heavily. “I hope so, because there are several things I want to ask her on top of finding out who the new Guardians are.”

The cat like creature mewled loudly and pawed at Usagi’s skirt. Usagi looked down and smiled, “Yes?”

It mewled again and jumped up, forcing Usagi to catch the creature where it mewled happily. “You want to come?” she asked it.

It mewled again and nosed her face.

Usagi shook her head and set it down. “No,” she told it sternly. “Stay here with your friends. We’ll be back soon, I promise.”

It gave out a small cry, then slunk around to the back of the house with it’s ears lowered enough to almost touch the ground.

Rei sighed, “Well, at least it will stay.”

Makoto came over shook her head, “We can’t worry about that right now. Let’s get over to the café and find Nova.”

Everyone nodded, “Right,” they agreed and left the temple grounds.

Netto absentmindedly stroked Nova while sipping his cola. “Wonder when they’re gonna get here,” he said slowly.

Nova opened a laze eye and continue to purr as she answered, “Who knows?”

Laika and Enzan both sighed, their patience wearing thing. “Why do they want to meet up with us?”

Netto shrugged, “Ask them when they get here,” he answered simply as he finished off the last bit of his cola.

“Hey!” a voice called out.

Netto looked up and saw Usagi running towards them with her arm raised in greeting. “Hey!” he waved back.

Nova opened her eye again and sighed, “You didn’t have to stop scratching,” she told Netto.

Netto eyed her, “You don’t seem like the kind of cat who would like to have their ears scratched.”

“Less talking, more scratching,” Nova muttered as she closed her eyes again.

Netto shrugged and continued to scratch the cat who began to purr again. Usagi and her friends came up to the outdoor café and waved at them. “Hey,” Minako said happily.

Enzan and Laika nodded coolly while Netto smiled in return, “Hello. What’s up?”

Usagi eyed the lazy cat who was now openly lazing on the table, “We um… well…” she paused. Just how was she supposed to explain that they wanted to talk to a talking cat without telling them about their secrets?

Netto followed her gaze, then looked back up at her. “Nova?” he asked her.

Luna jumped onto the table and placed her paw on the large kitten’s head. Nova opened up a bleary eye to gaze angrily at Luna. “And what do you want, Luna?” she snapped.

Everyone openly gaped at the cat while Luna looked slightly angry. She meowed and jumped back onto Usagi’s shoulder.

Nova stretched and sat up. “Oh please, you obviously want to talk to me, so what is this about? What do you need?”

“Do you have any tact at all?” Luna snapped back.

Enzan, Netto and Laika gaped at the black cat. “There’s more then one talking cat?” Rockman asked softly.

“Apparently,” Netto replied to his navi.

Rockman took in a deep breath, “Well then, that’s interesting.”

“Luna!” Usagi gasped. Normally Luna was very touchy about who she let know about them.

Luna growled, “Might as well,” she hissed. “Since Nova made no effort to keep anything hidden.”

Nova smiled and jumped up on top of Netto’s head. The boy winced but didn’t say anything as Nova yawned. “I make no effort because there is no reason for any effort to be made.”

“What effort?” Searchman asked.

Usagi exchanged nervous looks with Rei then laughed nervously. “Nothing, nothing!”

Enzan, Laika and even Netto looked rather skeptical.

“We’ll tell you three later,” Ami said softly. “Right now we need to talk to Nova.”

“Yes?” Nova asked.

“We’ve come across two more Guardians,” Luna said stiffly. “They’re hurt.”

“How?” Netto asked.

Luna glanced up at him, then sighed, “It appears that they were attacked, I’m guessing someone tried to capture them.”

“Where are they?” Nova asked softly.

“They’re at my house,” Rei said. “We left them there earlier.”

Nova jumped down from Netto’s head onto the ground and sat down on the pavement. “All right, show me.”

Rei blinked. “That’s it?” she asked.

Nova nodded, “I want to see them. I need to see if they’re okay.”

Rei shrugged, “All right, follow me.”

Nova stopped then turned around to glare at Netto, Enzan and Laika. “On second thought, you three should come to?”

“Why?” Blues asked, instantly on guard.

“There’s something I want to see, and if I’m right about something then I’ll explain further,” Nova said mysteriously.

Netto grinned, “There’s nothing else to do, why not?”

Rockman smiled, “I agree with that. Can’t cause any harm.”

Enzan and Laika frowned before Netto slung his arms around their shoulders and leaned over, making them support his upper body weight. “Come on.”

Laika remained silent while Enzan sighed softly, “You’re going to keep on annoying us until we say yes, aren’t you?”

“Probably,” Rockman said.

Netto smiled, “Please?”

“Very well,” Laika said dryly. “You’re not going to leave this alone regardless.”

“Netto-san is very persuasive, isn’t he?” Blues asked softly while Enzan and Laika stood up from the table and left the money for their meal.

“Is being annoying is being persuasive, then yes,” Rockman replied in a low voice so Netto couldn’t hear.

Blues and Searchman both grinned amusedly and watched the small scene from their PET’s.

“Are you coming?” Rei asked.

“Yes,” Netto replied and hopped over the small wall that made up the border of the café.

Nova jumped onto Netto’s head again while Enzan and Laika took the more conventional way out of the café.

“Why are you on Netto-kun’s head?” Minako asked.

“Because Laika and Enzan don’t seem like they would enjoy my company very much,” Nova said shrewdly.

Netto burst out laughing while Laika and Enzan glared at the small cat. She grinned back and daintily licked a paw.

“You know, that’s actually true,” Rockman told his operator softly.

Netto grinned, “Yeah.”

This fic certainly revives some cherished childhood memories I had of Sailor Moon. (currently lost in nostalgia of Moon Tiara Magic and that kickasstic Sailor Moon BGM)

Very interesting fic Neko. Nova is apparently as lazy as ever, and I found the operators' reactions to the talking cats are quite comical. This is a very well-written fic and I'm looking forward to more misadventures with Usagi and the gang.

Doesn't Netto just love annoying Enzan and Laika out of their minds? And Nova's response to the question of perching on Netto's head is very well justified.

... I want to draw Netto forcing Laika and Enzan into supporting his weight. That just sounds fun! Although... Anyone else would probably get the heads bitten off... -_-;

I have to agree with the both of them. An update was most welcome, and it served to help develop characters. I wish I could say more, but the memories I had of Sailor Moon are rather fuzzy at best...

As for Netto's reactions, he seems to be shocked the most, and yet he shows it the least, which seems to be typical of his character. I look forward to the next installment, as always.

After a ten minute walk and a short bus ride and another five minute walk the group finally made their way to Rei’s temple. The creature that they had fought the first night pranced over happily and mewled at Netto. Netto grinned back and pet it on the head, “You’re looking better,” he said with a smile. “Glad to know our little fight didn’t cause any lasting damage.”

Rockman nodded from inside his PET and peered at the strange animal, “Yeah. It seems a lot happier now too.”

“Probably cause it’s not an evil rampaging thing,” Netto laughed and straightened up.

“Yeah, it’s actually pretty cute this way,” Rockman noted.

Netto nodded and ran to catch up with Enzan and Laika who had left him behind. The creature mewled and trotted after him.

“So, what exactly is going on?” Nova asked Luna.

Luna sighed, “Two more guardians showed up last night. We don’t know who they belong too although once you see them I’m sure you will.”

Nova glared at Luna but didn’t retaliate. “And?” she asked.

“Well, you were the one that wanted to deal with this, right?” Luna asked.

Nova sighed, “All right, you’ve got me there.”

Luna lowered her voice, “You’re planning on saying something?” she asked softly.

Nova nodded, “Yeah, the final Chosen disappeared last night. Things are progressing too quickly for my comfort at this point to keep my mouth shut.”

Luna smiled at the smaller cat, “At least you admit when you need to change a plan.”

Nova smirked, “I don’t come off as that petty, do I?” she asked.

Artemis trotted next to her, “Yes, you do,” he said.

Nova sighed, “Ah well.”

They all sat down in the back yard of the temple and waited patiently as Nova went to go see the other guardians.

Usagi looked down at Netto, “So, did today go better then the other days?” she asked him.

Netto nodded, “Yeah. Today was the evaluation of Enzan and my area but when I said what we did over the past few years he kinda got all quiet and left us alone. It was awesome,” he laughed.

“Netto-san still doesn’t realize…” Blues said softly.

Enzan shook his head, “I doubt he ever will, Blues. Maybe it’s better that way.”

Laika hid a grin, “Don’t want to deal with his ego?” he asked.

Enzan groaned while Searchman and Blues did their best to keep from laughing.

Usagi nodded, “That’s good. Are you having fun?”

Netto nodded enthusiastically, “Yeah. It’s really fun wandering around even though Manabe-san is still kinda edgy.”

“Well, at least she let us come out on our own today,” Rockman said diplomatically.

“Right,” Netto agreed.

Makoto laughed, “She must be a brave woman to watch over three boys in a city like this.”

“Netto’s really the only one she has to worry about,” Laika said coolly.

“Shut up,” Netto snapped.

Usagi laughed and patted his shoulder. “It’s okay, they’re just teasing.”

Rei smirked at Usagi, “You’re not much better yourself. Or did you forget the little incident you had last month.”

“You promised not to bring that up!” Usagi whined.

“What incident?” Netto and Rockman asked together.

Minako came over to join in the fun. “You see, last month we went to a new café that opened down town. It was all right because we went as a group but afterwards we all went home by ourselves. Three hours later I get phone call from Mamoru asking if I’ve seen Usagi at all!” she burst into giggles.

Makoto nodded, “Yeah, apparently Usagi got lost on the way home and her mom called Mamoru who called us to see where she was,” she said while patting Usagi on the head.

“You guys aren’t being fair,” Usagi muttered.

“And?” Rockman asked.

Rei shrugged, “We found her wandering around the down town area a half hour later trying to catch a bus that wasn’t going to get there for another 45 minutes.”

Netto laughed, “Well at least you got home,” he said.

“I seem to recall you doing something similar to that in Namaste on our last mission there,” Enzan noted.

Netto crossed his arms, “I don’t live in Namaste,” he said huffily.

“Manabe-san nearly had a heart attack,” Laika noted.

Netto shrugged, “We got back eventually. And Rockman got lost too you know, he was the one with the map.”

Rockman blushed, “It is a big city,” he said softly.

Blues and Searchman both looked at the blue navi. “You got lost?” Blues asked him.

“Really big,” Rockman said defensively.

“Then the PET’s batteries ran out,” Netto sighed. “Yeah, I remember that mission.”

“Which is odd because that mission wasn’t particularly difficult as I recall,” Enzan noted.

Netto shrugged, “It all worked out in the end.”

Usagi laughed, “That’s right. And we’re all safe now, so that’s what matters.”

“Besides,” Netto said with a wicked grin, “Just wait till we’re old enough to start driving in missions on our own.”

“Netto, no offense but I will never get in a car with you when you’re driving,” Laika said.

“I second that,” Enzan replied.

Netto crossed his arms, “I don’t think I’ll be that bad of a driver,” he muttered.

“I can certainly wait,” Rockman said quietly. Blues and Searchman both nodded fervently.

The small guardian that they had helped before came over into the small circle that they had formed and mewled happily before trotting over to Netto and sitting in his lap. Minako reached over and stroked it’s large ears with her fingers, “It certainly seems to like you,” she laughed.

Netto nodded, “Yeah, it does.”

Nova trotted out with the other two guardians behind her. The one with the bushy tail went straight for Laika and the one with the pointed ears looked up at Enzan with large brown eyes.

Netto petted the one in his lap as a smile formed on his lips, “Those ones like you though,” he noted with amusement. /Because Enzan and Laika just love big cuddly animals./

Rockman snorted. /You’re not helping,/ he said in vain as Searchman and Blues looked at him.

“What did he say?” Blues asked.

Rockman shook his head, “Nothing,” he said innocently.

“Sometimes I really wonder what you two talk about,” Searchman murmured as he watched his operator tentatively pet the odd creature.

/Keep guessing,/ Netto smirked as he watched Enzan stare blankly at the Guardian.

/Netto-kun, be nice,/ Rockman chided him.

Netto shrugged and laughed as the creature that was with Enzan jumped into his lap, startling the boy. “It’s like you’ve never seen an animal before.”

“I’m not used to aliens,” Enzan said dryly.

“Awww, but it’s cute,” Minako said with a grin. “Look, it likes you.”

Ami smiled at it and pet its head. “It’s nice too,” she said softly.

Enzan sighed, “I’m not going to win this, am I?”

Makoto laughed, “Probably not.”

Nova cleared her throat, “Okay now that I know who is who here I think I owe some explanation.”

Netto looked at her, “Yeah, like why you’re a talking cat for one.”

Nova sighed, “I’m willing to bet Laika and Enzan have figured out some of this on their own, as have their navis.”

Laika and Enzan both looked at her. “Like that girl we saw a few days ago, right?” Enzan asked suddenly. “The one with the wind?”

Nova nodded, “Yes, only her Guardian was corrupted with dark power. These Guardians, even though they’re injured are not.”

“Figured out what?” Netto and Usagi both asked.

Enzan frowned at the Guardian in his lap who looked back at him and blinked slowly. “Enzan-sama?” Blues asked him.

Laika shrugged, “I certainly can see where this is going,” he said as the Guardian in his lap curled up for a nap.

Searchman nodded in his PET, “Unfortunately.”

“What?” Netto asked.

Rockman sighed, “Netto-kun, I think what Nova means is that you Enzan-san and Laika-san are all Chosen.”

Netto’s eyes widened until it was possible to see the whites all the way around he was in such shock. “What?” he asked softly. “How?”

The creature in his lap could sense his anxiety and mewled unhappily as Netto’s hands shook slightly.

Nova shook her head. “There is now ‘how’ kiddo. It was entirely random. My guess is that you three got them because you were in the right place at the right time and you were together. Or the wrong place at the wrong time, however you wish to perceive it.”

Netto frowned thoughtfully at the creature he was holding. “That could have been at any time,” he told it. “We’re sent on missions together all the time.”

Enzan and Laika nodded their agreement. “That’s true,” Laika said. “We’ve been all over the world in the past couple of months.”

“Busy?” Usagi asked them softly.

Rockman let a tiny smile tug at his lips. “You have no idea,” he murmured as he looked at Netto who seemed to be calming down a bit.

Netto stroked the soft fur of his guardian and made a face, “Yeah and keeping up with school while doing it isn’t no walk in the park either.”

Enzan and Laika both gave Netto slightly grateful looks. It seemed to the others that somehow the child and his navi were the stabilizers of the group. Being the one who was always cheerful and annoyingly happy seemed to play a key role in the chemistry between the boys. “Well, it’s not like it’s entirely that surprising. Think about it, we DO travel all over the world to strange places all the time. Something was bound to happen if you think about it,” Enzan said softly.

Blues nodded, “This is true. It’s just sheer coincidence made greater by your life styles.”

“This is because you’re on summer break,” Rockman teased to lift the mood. “If it were the school year you’d be in a class room.”

Netto stuck his tongue out at Rockman and laughed, “I’d take my chances out here. At least I’m awake, right?”

“This is true,” Rockman laughed. His voice carried over to the others in the clearing and the area visibly relaxed.

Usagi sat down next to Netto and began to pet his guardian as well. The creature was very happy to be receiving all of the attention and it mewled loudly as it cradled Usagi’s hand. She giggled and then looked at Netto, “What’s it’s name?”

Netto frowned, “Hm, I don’t know. It probably should have a name, huh?”

“Might help,” Nova agreed as she trotted over to peer at the three guardians.

“I’m horrible at naming things,” Enzan muttered. His creature looked up at him and let out a strange noise then nuzzled his hand. Rei knelt down to stroke it, “Hmm…” she murmured. “How about Ki?”

“Why?” Enzan inquired.

Rei shrugged, “No particular reason. Just seems like a good name.”

“Have anything else Enzan-sama?” Blues asked his operator while Enzan blinked at her.

“No…” Enzan said slowly.

“Then Ki it is,” Rei said with a finality in her voice that ended the conversation.

Laika frowned at his guardian who frowned right back and the two had a silent staring match while everyone else looked on apprehensively. “Come back later,” Searchman said softly.

Everyone’s attention shifted to Netto’s guardian who was still mewling happily as Netto pet it gently. “Heh, it’s so happy,” he said with a grin.

Rockman nodded, “Very energetic. Like you,” he teased Netto.

“And you aren’t?” Netto shot back.

Rockman shrugged, “I never denied it. Now what should its name be?”

“Hmmm,” Rockman looked at it from his PET. “I think… Genki,” he told Netto.

Netto laughed and nodded, “That’s a good name. Genki it is.” The decision was finalized by a happy mewling from the creature.

“Laika-san?” Searchman asked.

“I’m thinking,” Laika said. “Really, I’m not the best at naming things either.”

Searchman looked at the animal and frowned. “It’s been awhile since you’ve had a pet, hasn’t it?”

Laika shrugged. “Kinda,” he admitted. “I’m not quite sure what to name it.” He peered around at its tail and then back at it, “Zadneey,” he told it.

Searchman frowned, “That’s creative,” he told his operator.

Netto blinked, “What’s it mean?” he asked Laika.

Laika sighed, “It means tail in Russian.”

Netto hid a laugh behind his hand, “Creative,” he told his friend.

“Shut up,” Laika snapped.

Netto shrugged but continued to smile widely while Laika glared at him irritably. Nova ended the spat by jumping into the circle and commanding their attention. “Now that that is all sorted out let’s figure out the rest shall we?”

Netto had almost forgotten his current predicament in the fun of naming the strange creatures. “Figure out what?”

Nova fixed him with a cold glare. “Sweetie, you’re a chosen, you have powers. Aren’t you the slightest bit interested in finding out what those powers are?”

Netto blinked, “Oh,” he said softly as a tiny blush tinged his cheeks. “Right.”

Nova nodded at Enzan. “Your Guardian has the power of fire. Be careful because it can sometimes be hard to control.”

Enzan looked down at the sleepy creature in his lap, “Really?” he asked.

“You’d be surprised,” Nova said dryly.

Netto looked at it and grinned, “Well if Enzan is a prodigy in intelligence and runs most of his father’s company, I can believe it.”

“Shut. Up.” Enzan told him smartly.

Netto clamped his mouth shut but his eyes continued to dance merrily as he kept his eyes on Enzan.

Nova turned to Laika, “Your Guardian has the power of ice. It’s very strong so be careful.”

Laika nodded as if he’d heard those words many times before.

“Lemme guess Netto’s,” Enzan said before Nova turned to him.

Nova blinked and looked at the teen, “Yes?” she asked.

“Light,” he said with a smirk.

Nova nodded, “You are correct.”

Enzan put his chin in his hand and grinned, “How did I guess.”

Netto threw a low level battle chip at his friend. “You shut up,” he snapped.

“Now, now, Netto-kun,” Rockman said soothingly while holding up his hands. “It’s to be expected.”

Netto crossed his arms, “I know.” He muttered. /Didn’t mean Enzan had to be a jerk about it./

/Netto-kun, I hate to say this, but you started it,/ Rockman pointed out.

Netto rolled his eyes but didn’t reply as he stroked his guardian. Nova cleared her throat and sat down, primly. “Any questions?”

“Yeah, why aren’t you surprised?” Enzan asked the girls around him.

Usagi looked around and the other four either smiled or nodded. She nodded in return and pulled her broach out of her pocket and held it out. “Because,” she said. “We’re the sailor warriors. I’m Sailor Moon.”

Netto gaped at her, standing up and dumping his guardian to the ground. “No way,” he gasped. “You’re those girls that we’ve run into?”

They all nodded, “We’re the guardians of this city,” Ami said softly. “It’s our job.”

Usagi grinned, “You’re not getting rid of us that easily.”

Netto relaxed and grinned back, “Right back at you,” he retorted smartly.

Nova sighed, “All right, all right. Now that all the explanations have been handed out I’d like to see how your abilities look. Chosen or not, you’re still human and that’s going to have limitations on your ability.”

Netto looked to the side, /Human, right,/ he murmured. /Think I can hide it?/

/The link?/ Rockman asked. /Sure, as long as you don’t go overboard and tap into my energy sources we’ll be fine. Keep it low key./

/Will do,/ Netto replied as he shuffled after the cat who began to walk away. Everyone followed him and Nova to wherever they were going.

The names are totally random. Ki is Ki Genki is cheerful spirited. Both are japanese words. Ki I think might mean spirit but I'm not sure.

Laika's name is a *horribly* translated and conversion of the world tail. I can't read russian so I had to look it up and pass it over into english myself. Anyone who does know russian please give me a proper pronounciation >.>

Nova trotted out to a clearing behind Rei’s temple and looked around. “Are there many around here?” she asked.

Rei shook her head. “No, actually I use this as a training ground a lot.”

Nova nodded, “Good, good. Hey, girls, would you mind transforming to make sure if anything happens someone might be able to stop it?”

“What, you trust the warriors now?” Luna asked her with a smirk.

“I know when to be careful,” Nova snapped back.

“Do they like each other or what?” Netto murmured softly.

“Seems like they have the same relationship as Rei and Usagi,” Minako replied.

“That is?” Rockman asked.

“They argue all the time but deep down they’re good friends. I’ll bet anything they like arguing, just like Usagi and Rei,” Minako said with a grin.

“What did you say?” Usagi and Rei snapped as they came to hover over their friend.

Minako laughed nervously and tried to wave them off while Netto and Rockman laughed. /They have good hearing, don’t they?/ Netto asked.

/Everyone has good hearing when it’s yourself that’s being talked about,/ Rockman replied.

/That’s true,/ Netto mused as he watched Rei and Usagi chide their friend.

Nova cleared her throat, “Answer please, Sailor kids.”

Usagi crossed her arms, “I don’t see why we should if you’re going to be so rude,” she snapped at Nova.

“You’re not doing it for me, sweetie. I’ll be fine no matter what. I’m talking about them,” she nodded at Netto, Enzan and Laika.”

“We don’t need help,” Enzan growled.

Usagi glared at Nova, “Fine,” she huffed and pulled out her broach.

“Apparently she didn’t hear you, Enzan-sama,” Blues said softly.

“Hmm…” Enzan said softly but didn’t retort.

The other girls pulled out wands with crystals imbedded on the tops. Each one held them up and yelled out something before a bright light appeared and engulfed them. When it vanished the sailor warriors stood there in all their mini-skirted glory.

“Cool,” Netto said simply.

Rockman nodded, “Yeah.”

“We’re ready,” Usagi said with a wave. “Do your worst!”

Nova rolled her eyes. “The purpose of this isn’t to loose control, child. It’s to make sure that doesn’t happen.”

“Oh…” Usagi said softly, looking slightly put out.

Netto chuckled and let Genki jump to the ground from his arms. “You make it seem like we don’t have experience in battle or something.”

Nova raised an eyebrow, “Another surprise?”

Netto shrugged, “Not really. But it’s not like Enzan, Laika and I can’t fight. Just because we fight stuff in the internet doesn’t mean stuff doesn’t happen out here too you know,” he said pointedly.

Enzan and Laika both nodded their agreement.

“We all know how to battle, with or without help from our net navis,” Laika said coolly.

Netto rolled his eyes, “I’ve heard that speech before,” he muttered.

Laika turned his icy glare on Netto. “I don’t recall you being in any position to argue me point, Netto.”

Netto bristled, “What?”

“Calm down, Netto-kun,” Rockman said warningly.

“Laika-san,” Searchman said softly, just loud enough for Laika to hear.

Nova coughed, “Okay, now that we’ve settled things can we please get started?”

There was silence around her so she took it as a yes. With that she jumped onto a rock by her to get a tiny bit more leverage. “Okay kids, it’s rather simple. Your guardians are the ones with the power, while you can use the power yourselves I’d advise against it. It can be straining on the body and since you’re human I can imagine that it would be far worse in your case. So, let your Guardians handle it, okay?”

Laika, Enzan and Netto all nodded.

“Good, now it’s simple enough. Just let your Guardian know that you wish to use its power and it should use it. How you let it know is entirely up to you, depending on your relationship with it. Also, how you give direction is entirely up to you,” Nova said. “Got that?”

Another nod.

“Very well, go ahead and try,” she said with a sniff and curled up on the rock.

Netto looked down at Genki who mewled back. He opened his mouth to say something, but then immediately ran into a problem. “Hey Nova?” he asked.

“Yes?” came the reply.

“You said Genki uses light, but that doesn’t really say anything about how? I mean, what does it do?” he asked.

Nova shrugged, “You have to find that out yourself, dear.”

“You’re a great help,” Netto muttered.

Nova pretended not to hear and merely curled up even tighter as if she was going to take a nap.

Rockman’s voice came from Netto’s PET. “Well, looks like you’ll just have to find out, huh?”

Netto looked vaguely irritated, “Well sheesh, even I don’t use a battle chip if I don’t know what it does,” he snapped.

Enzan nodded, “Netto’s right, it’s dangerous to fool around with a power you know nothing about.”

“Why don’t you try then?” Laika asked.

Enzan sighed and looked at the sleepy Ki. “I guess it can’t be helped then,” he murmured. Ki looked back up at him and got up to its feet. Enzan stared back, unsure of what to do.

“Enzan-sama?” Blues asked.

“What… do I do?” Enzan replied.

Blues shrugged, “I’m afraid I don’t know, Enzan-sama.”

“Hm…” he said with a frown.

Ki turned around and took in a deep breath. Enzan watched it wonderingly as it stood there, poised for a few seconds before letting the breath out slowly. To everyone’s amazement a jet of flame came from its mouth and headed straight for Usagi.

“Genki!” Netto yelled.

There was a flash of light and Genki stood in front of Usagi, keeping the flame at bay with a shield made of the light that was currently emitting from its body.

“Coooooolll…” Netto said.

“Wow,” Rockman noted. “That does look pretty cool.”

Enzan glanced down at Ki who curled up and looked about ready to take a nap. “Strange creature,” he murmured.

Usagi cheered and hugged Genki. “Thank-you!” she said happily.

Ami called out, “Aqua rhapsody,” to extinguish what little flame remained on the grass.

“Very good,” Nova called out. “You’re next!”

Laika looked down at his guardian who was alert and sharp eyed. A tiny smile formed on his lips when he realized how he was going to command it. He snapped his fingers and with a swish of its tail Zadneey sent several ice daggers into the ground.

“Very good, Laika-san,” Searchman said.

“Thank you,” Laika replied with a curt nod.

Zadneey sat down next to Laika and let out a strange barking noise.

“Heh, cool,” Netto said with a grin. “Laika already knows how to control his Guardian.”

“Hmm…” Enzan said while looking at his own, sleepy Guardian.

Rei used her flame power to melt the ice from the ground and then they all returned to normal. “I think that’s enough for today,” Luna said.

“I agree,” Nova replied. “Plenty enough.”

Netto stretched his hands over his head, “I think I’m ready for dinner. Today’s been tiring.”

Enzan’s PET began to ring and he pulled it out. “Not yet,” he told Netto. “We have a mission.”

“What?” Netto asked unbelievingly.

Enzan scanned the contents of the e-mail. “Yeah. It seems that there’s a virus attack on the main broadcasting building. Let’s go.”

“But…” Netto protested.

Laika walked over and grabbed Netto’s wrist. “The less you complain the faster we’ll get to dinner,” he told his whining friend. “Let’s go.”

Netto pouted but followed Laika anyways.

“We’ll be back tomorrow if we can,” Enzan told the girls and the cats as he put his PET back into its holster. “Bye.”

“Good luck!” Usagi waved back at them as they walked to their newest mission.

“Bye,” Netto waved until they were too far away to be seen.

From behind a tree a pair of eyes vanished.

This was interesting, seeing how the different Net Saviors accidentally discovered how to use their respective guardian's abilites. Laika snaps.... And my mind goes off into spazz mode. Weiss + FMA + Rockman = kuro's brian ded

I enjoyed this update!! (minus a few typos I picked out once or twice. Can't bother with it now) And now, I must return to doing my homework~~
