A brand new network will launch in September of 2006, pointly titled "CW". This broadcasting station will be a merger of the current WB and UPN. CNN reported the following on their website: "The new broadcast network will draw on programming from both WB and UPN, and will be a joint venture between Warner Bros. and CBS (Research), with each company owning 50 percent, officials of both companies said. (The "C" stands for CBS, the "W" is for Warner.)"
What does this mean for us? For starters, the Saturday morning lineup will remain fully intact, as reported by the Los Angeles Times: "In addition, the CW will broadcast the schedule of children's programming now known as Kids' WB!, a five-hour Saturday morning lineup."
At this time they only mention the afternoon block as "two hours of syndicated programming", with no mention as to specifically which television shows will air. I know we would all like to see the return of the afternoon cartoon block, but as of yet there are no details available.
With the high success of Megaman NT Warrior Axess, it may be possible that Stream will be liscensed in the near future, though no press release has been issued yet. With the KidsWB as the home for the NT Warrior series, it's good to know at least the Saturday morning cartoon block will survive the merge.
The new broadcasting lineup for the fall will be released in May. _________________ "Cats are interesting. They're kind of like girls. When they come talk to you, it's great. When you go talk to them, it doesn't go so well." - Miyamoto

Thanks for letting us know Ryouko. I have been wondering what the C and W stood for.
Just our of curiousity, do you know why they got rid of the afternoon block? |

Ehh.. they'll probably really doctor Stream if they do ever decide to air it. But I'm hoping that they will put it up, as long as the dub is as good as Axess' was. And I wish they wouldn't change the Japanese Stream opening theme. X_x It kicks butt. If they did change it, they'll probably make more techno beats with no singing like they always do.
I don't watch KidsWB anymore, though. :P |

My guess for why it was eliminated: Better viewership aiming for the 16-25 demographic at that time than the 6-11 set. FOX killed their afternoon cartoon block for a similar reason - ratings weren't good enough keep spending money on the airtime, so they left it to the affiliates. It's just that WB is still trying to use that time for network programming. Both moves have seriously damamged non-cable children's programming, in my opinion. Maybe the new network will install a morning programming block for cartoons during the week.
What I really wonder about is how this'll end up divided among the affiliates, since most every market has separate channels for WB and UPN programming. Oh, and on the subject of Stream, I'll bet if they're even planning to license it, they'll say so at Toy Fair. Assuming any presence of MegaMan merch there, that is. |

id rather see megaman goto cartoon network so that they can swipe the rights to stream, the movie & beast cause cartoon netowork would definatly get it out there if they slammed it into maguzzi or whatever it is instead of something like "totally spies". No offense to any of you that like that show. I think that with the merger taht the shows are going to be given the cut. but idk thats just my 2 cents |

At least it's nice to know that it's staying intact. _________________

Hmmmm.... It seems rather shaky, but I definetly like the idea. Having Stream dubbed will be nice, as the final episodes of Axess were very ell done. Thanks for the info Ryouko. _________________
