That's what it says, VIZ has no plans to release it or some other anime on to home video.

...What?

If they're going to release NT Warrior dvds, you'd think that Viz would at least be knowledgeable to release the series after it. <__<; Now I wish I could've figured out my VCR Timer earlier and recorded the whole Axess series, but fortunately I have the last five episodes on tape, just in case Viz really doesn't release Axess on dvd. It'd be a shame if they didn't.

I think you misinterpreted the article. All they are saying is that those shows are available to be broadcasted on TV, and that VIZ advertised them at the latest NATPE.

They also mention that there is no home video release YET, they don't say they never will at all. I would imagine they would want to finish releasing the first NT Warrior series before going into the Axess DVDs.

It should also be mentioned that Axess was only advertised for international marketers, not the US, considering it has already aired here.

It is kind of interesting that they officially state they only dubbed 46 episodes out of the 51 though.

Well, that's good news.

I would say that maybe it's because the article is old, but... It's not. << They did have one last week where they showed the last Axess episodes in the afternoon lineup, though- maybe that wasn't recorded? I have no idea. o-o

WHo cares!! If they aren't going to release them uncut and bilingual, then there is no point in releasing them at all. Why waste $15-20 on something you could have recorded off TV for half the price for 3 times the amount of episodes?!

...Because when you buy the DVDs, you get a better quality version AND you support the dub company, so VIZ will probably release Stream faster?

Gankutsuou, I'd like to remind you that flaming is not tolerated on this forum. There are some people, like myself, who support the dub by buying the dvds. If the english ones sell well, they may be more inclined to release them uncut and subbed.

Actually, that's not completely true. One of the reasons (MANY reasons) 4Kids stopped making their uncut DVDs is linked to how the chairman, Al Kahn, mentioned that their bigger market is with the edited tv version. For Viz, despite them usually doing uncut versions of stuff, Megaman is a bit of an exception. They make PLENTY of money off of their edited releases to go along with the toys and games. It could possibly be the complete opposite, in which case they'd have no reason to make uncut releases if they're already making money from the edited version, and they'd probably only do one if the franchise is beginning to die, which it isn't.

Who knows, maybe I'm just bull****ing and you'll be completely right. That's just my opinion from what I've gathered about things, but not that I'm not all for supporting Viz to help them release more stuff, I just think I've prettymuch given up on the WB and Foxbox animes getting uncut versions at this point. No REAL 'miracles' have ever really pulled through for any of them...

I guess it depends on the series. From what I understand, the unedited Cardcaptor Sakura far outsold the edited dub released version.

And it's not really surprising either.

*Sigh*

They probably won't make it to Australia, and we're stuck on Region 4. So, if they won't bother to release the Dub in a format I can watch, I don't feel compelled to go to all the effort to buy another DVD player to change the code on it. If they do release them in the Australian Region Code, I probably will get them though.

Im looking forward to the axess DVD releases, be nice for uncut ones, but if they dont no biggie, I mean, there are plenty of raws & wpp subs floating around that we can gather, plus we can always import axess dvd's. I myself have to get the original NT warrior dvd's online since my walmart refuses to sell more than volume 1: Jack In! and all the other stores that carry dvd's like best buy & target dont have the Nt Warrior line in the stores, only online. what a pity cuz they were selling them for 10 bucks in change whereas if i order them online its going to cost me 20 each :puku: -_-;

Weren't the uncut Cardcaptor DVDs in japanese only though? o.o I remember seeing them with only the japanese track and english subtitles when I saw the "Cardcaptor Sakura" DVDs in a few stores, but I'm probably wrong.

No, you're correct. They split the DVDs into "english only" and "japanese only" versions. The english was the censored dub, and the japanese was uncut with subtitles.

Aaaah. Well, I guess that's a different note, since I think some of the Tenchi series DVDs got Japanese-only releases too. Unless they actually would WANT to go all the way back to the very beginning of the first show and dub the entire series AGAIN, which again I sincerely doubt, then we're probably not gonna luck out with this.

Also, in case anyone wants to bring in the whole "Well, Viz is gonna be doing Naruto uncut DVDs so..." that's a different story. They did both versions of the lines from the uncut and edited versions as each VA records their lines. That's typically how dubbing agencies do it if they're going to have a show on tv and then have a following uncut release, whereas 4Kids (for ALL of their show) and Viz for some of their shows likw Megaman and Hamtaro will just be done in an edited format and then put on channels to be played, and would have to go back and do everything all over again.

Sorry Ryouko, I didn't intend to be flaming.

Anyway, I doubt they'd make uncut DVDs just because the edited ones sell well. Viz never released Zoids and Hamtaro uncut, and they are releasing Gash Bell edited on as well. Naruto is the only exception that gets both, which I find really dumb.

No anime should be released on DVD unless it will be uncut and include both versions. Problem is, Viz, well, Shopro, decided to butcher the show and change the music, making it hard for the dub and Jp version to be on the same disc.

Granted, the NT dub is not as bad as it was in the beginning, and not as bad as the dubs 4Kids does, but as far as I'm concerned, no uncut no sale for me. Why should I support a unknown volume count series in edited form, just to have them not release it uncut, or if they do, having to rebuy the same number of volumes for twice the cost for less episodes.

If anyone, we deserve RockMan EXE in season box sets, similar to Inuyasha.

Well the uncut Naruto DVDs are going to be in 16 (or possibly 20, I don't quite remember) episode boxsets, so it IS possible, but again, not likely, because Megaman is mass property for kids. The market is already there, and that's what they'll keep focusing on.

Actually, it'll be 13 episodes per boxset.
