I'm not so sure whether or not I trust that Viz actually skipped 5 episodes of Axess. I mean, yes, it's officially stated right there; I understand that. But sometimes the official statements regarding NT Warrior aren't always true. I mean, the official website itself says there are only 50 episodes of the original EXE, disregarding those two Canadian-and-DVD-only episodes (bringing the true total to 52).
Furthermore, look at the description of Axess in that press release. It pretty much reads the plotline of the original EXE. "Only by working as a team can they thwart the evil Mr. Wily and his chaos-causing Net crime organization, World Three, who are out to take over the Net in order to wreak havoc on the world." It sounds to me like they're just really confused about everything...
While the numbers add up, the logic just doesn't. Why would Viz seemingly dub every Axess episode, even the mundane and pointless ones like episode 5, yet then randomly skip five plot-important episodes? It just doesn't make much sense to me. I think those five skipped episodes will show up in dub form somehow... probably years from now on the DVDs. At least, I hope so. Otherwise, it just really irritates me that Viz would do this when they were SO CLOSE to getting things right for a change... _________________

Another thing I'd like to point out: I do not like the fact ViZ has the original music available for use, but does not use it. This could actually be a financial issue for licensing music (rockman.exe and GashBell were TV Tokyo licenses I believe, so usually the music comes with the license itself. Considering TVTokyo funds the music usually...) and not using it, if ViZ does this in the future. |

That was something that severely irritated me with the original EXE dub. I was never sure if dubbing companies always had the original BGM available to use, but ShoPro (at the time) revealed they DID when they randomly tossed some original BGM into two episodes (Japanese 5 and 9) of the EXE dub. Why hire people to sequence new music when they could just fit the original BGM back in after the cuts, editting the BGM itself to fit their specific episode flow? It almost seems like a financial no-brainer. _________________

Possibly to give work to Artists who might be on contract with the Dub companies. Also, because due to the editing in a Dub the BGM may be out of whack. I'm not going to ague the point as my view is that yes, it's stupid. But, there may be valid reasons, if a little trivial or dodgey. _________________
