Umm... I'm pretty sure that regarding game canon, we're not supposed to know what happened to Shadow yet.
Anyhow, what reason do you think it is?
(If it's the stuff about aliens saving him, that's just from a comic and it doesn't apply to the games  ) |

i only know what happened to shadow in the anime, by watching the french eps of Sonic X 53-64.
Shadow was found by Dr Eggman in Sonic's world and put in a capsule which looks like the same one as where Eggman found him on prison island. It is only charged by one chaos emerald. After while he awakens, steals some of sonics chaos emeralds and warps back to eggman.
Oh yeah, and when rouge mentioned Maria, shadow got a serious headache (probably amesia). They didnt showed how and when eggman found him, but it must be the real one, unless clones also have memories of the real person. |

The original must exsist for there to be clones." I thought maybe that was why Shadow was confined somewhere else when Rouge found him; so that Shadow (if he ever got his memory back) wouldn't take his revenge on Eggman or something[/spoil:cdfb0f9346] |

EC is right, maybe we'll also find out about his creation, or maybe birth. I have a theory, dunno if I should put it in spoiler, oh, what the heck,
[spoil:0194017cd5]I think Shadow might be Sonic's relative, or something. To keep his current age, he might've been frozen for the years. Then a big catastrophy happened, and GUN found him. Then Eggman stole him, thus beginning Sonic Adventure 2.[/spoil:0194017cd5]
Alright, that was my theory for his creation/ birth. Now, it's after SA2(Still a theory)
[spoil:0194017cd5]The BioLizard disaster has been avoided, and Shadow is unconsious and floating in space. Then a Space Crew finds Shadow and takes him back to Earth, and since Shadow is battled and bruised, the astronauts don't recognize him. Eggman steals Shadow again, creates dozens of copies of him, then Sonic Heroes begins.[/spoil:0194017cd5]

Well I noticed that there is a lot of unresolved open-ending things concerning Shadow's past and his current where abouts after SA2. I know I came up with a few theories back then, but Sega really left it too open ended in the games to be honest.
