That's right! Fullmetal Alchemist is airing on YTV. Hell didn't freeze over and pigs aren't flying (stole that from lelola.net >.>). According to Zannen, Canada; YTV confirmed its airing. You can read the article here - http://www.zannen.ca/ - its rather funny.

I bet that there will A LOT of cuts made from the original series. From the blood of the dead people to the naked Wrath jumping up and down in a bed or whatever. >_> At least they're airing it...

Actually, YTV tends to censor things less nowadays, our version of Naruto had less blood cut out, I think almost none at all.

Oh no. XD Maybe I'll watch it for amusement.

Well....keep in mind also that most of the really big shows we get nowadays (Naruto, Inuyasha, Gundam Wing, etc) have aired already on Cartoon Network with a cut and uncut version. There IS no cut version of FMA on CN, so I can only imagine we're getting their dub as usual, and the Canadian censors don't usually mess with shows nowadays.

Actually it ALMOST is. General Gran's death was edited when it was on Adult Swim, but aside from that I don't think there are any other actual edits.

Not what I mean. The three shows I mentioned above all had two versions, the sanitized one, and the uncut or nearly-so. Canada always buys the 'cut' versions whenever there are two to choose from, probably because we don't have an adult programming block on any of our cartoon channels, so it kinda limits airtime. Either that or the price is lower.

FMA aired in the U.S. with only one version, so what I'm saying is that I assume that's what we'll be getting.

Silly soccer moms shield their kids too much these days. Everybody should go out and smell the blood, guts, and un-defragged data. At least we'll be able to tell the "sick"/desensitized kids from the innocent ones through scenes like General Gran's death. XD

Well, I'm happy they're showing it so my friends will actually know what it's about before dissing it. >> On the negative side, they'll be ton of kids going around saying "OMG! FMA is teh R0xx0rs!" when I was into it way before they had even heard of it.

ANYway...The Sanitized versions of shows ARE a drag, but at least they weren't dubbed by 4kids. Something we should all be thankful for.

SWEET! FMA in Canada, I have been waiting for this. And on YTV they usually don't screw with stuff that hadn't already been screwed with first did they? Like they included the Inuyasha episode with naked shippou and near naked kagome.

and Naruto wasn't it already butchered for blood and swearing?

General Gran's was pretty nasty, I can understand that being edited, especially if the show was on ata time kids would be watching. XD

w00t, I might start watching TV again~! I imagine it'll be in the "Bionex" timeslot.
Although I'll likely miss most of it, though, considering I dislike most of the dub voices. I'll watch the opening theme, at the very least :3

Actually, the FMA dub is considered the best dub ever made.

I'm buying the DVDs of the dub, and I haven't noticed much mutilation in them compared to the original. Also, Gran's death is as normal in the DVDs as well.

Well actually Teletoon has F-Nite (or something similar) on friday nights, that can be considered an adult block cuz I ton of 18+ like shows air then.

then there in Bromwell High which airs at some odd time too... meh I'll gotta watch this.

I have to agree. I've watched it willingly a few times, on the DVD version.

While that's true, Teletoon has less than two anime shows playing in any given season, and they're always kid-oriented. I was referring more to YTV in this case.

Are the people who said that insane? o_O I saw some clips, and Ed and Al sounded horrible in them.. Al's voice is so monotone, too. I can name plenty of dubs that were much better.. like Digimon and Gundam Wing.

Ah, the joy of having opinions...

Everyone else respectfully disagrees with that statement, me included.

Digimon Tamers and Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, maybe, and even then, they don't hold anything to the excellence of the FMA dub. If you mean the other Digimon and Gundam series as well, the majority of American anime fans would be calling you insane.

While I thought the Gundam Wing dub was splendidly done as well, the fact remains that all the blood was censored out of it in the Canadian version, therefore it loses the "best dub" award from me.

And I hated the Digimon dub once I saw the real thing. The name changes are pointless and atrocious (Yolei? And changing Fairymon to Kazemon? Wolfmon to Lobomon? Those are English words to start with >.<) and the modifications to dumb down the plot for North American audiences were just...ugh. The only season even half done right, I think, was Tamers, but I never saw that one, so I can only base the statement on what others have said.

Let me just say that no one likes frontier. Dub or otherwise. If that helps anything.
