Mwar, who remembers this? ^__^ Yup. That's my old account, and my first attempt ever at the MaxMan story I want to write. Seeing this post here, means that I've started on my second and more serious attempt at re-writing this, along with the remaining eight sagas. Gonna be long, yeah. I've got a team of awesome artists behind me, designing and drawing new characters. Well, enough rant. On with the story.

MaxMan Battle Network 1 - Revelation Team Lite
Action/Adventure (with its and bits of humor, drama and probably romance) - OriginalFiction - PG 13 for language, plot, etc. - Some random net-language (OMG, ROFL, ^_____^) used for the fun of it. - Soon to be illustrated.

Chapter 1

"Presents presents presents presents!" 12 year old Lance hummed as he ran down the stairs.
"Mom! Presents!" He shouted.
"Calm down Lance, and happy birthday honey." Lance's mom laughed and made the boy sit down. Lance was a short and a bit thin boy. He had dark brown eyes, and equally dark brownish hair. Your average idiot.
"Eat your breakfast, your dad hasn't arrived yet." Lance's mom told him.
"Huh? Dad's not back? But he said..." Lance mumbled as he excitedly swallowed his cereal.
"Oh, if only Lance would be happy every day .. I don't know why but he's been so depressed all his life. Is it because.." Lance's mom thought to herself, but the doorbell rang, and she went to answer it.

"Meh, I wonder when Anno's going to come over .. OMG DAD!" Lance jumped up at the sight of his father carrying large colored paper wrapped boxes.
"Happy birthday son, I had to go get your present. I didn't have much time last night .." Dad said, setting the presents down. "One's from your uncle in Amerouppe!"
AN: Please note, in this story Amerouppe and Netopia are DIFFERENT countries.
"Go and take them upstairs Lance, open them." Mom said, and Lance was rushing up the stairs in seconds.

Lance's heart throbbed as he unwrapped the present his dad got him.
"Here's hoping you have fun with this. ^_^" The digital greeting card on the wrapper said.
From the inside of the box came out a shiny and awesome compact desktop personal computer, with the latest graphics and accessories. Lance unfolded the top and quietly plugged it into the electric pad. Starting the computer up, he was prompted for user emblem input.
"What's this?" Lance stared at the monitor.
"THIS IS A DRAWING YOU WILL NEED TO DO FOR A BADGE. IT WILL BE USED AS USER REFERENCE, PROGRAMMER REFERENCE, NAVI AND TEAM REFERENCE." A Mr.Prog beeped up in front of the screen.
"Oh um .. will this do?" Lance clumsily scribbled a logo.

"YES THIS WILL DO, PLEASE WAIT AS I CHECK." The Mr.Prog said. "YOUR EMBLEM IS FREE AND YOU MAY REGISTER IT." It said again within seconds.

"Eight digits!" Lance said and hit enter.
"USER INFORMATION PLEASE." Mr. Prog said.

Nickname: Lance
Age: 12
Location: Dekao Town, Electopia
Password: ********
"There, eight letters. Happy now? D:" Max glared at the Mr.Prog.
"THAT WILL DO, THANK YOU NITWIT." Mr.Prog said.
Lance stared "O_O" at the screen for a second, sweatdropping.
"Bleh, just play some music for me.." Lance mumbled, and the Mr. Prog disappeared as a Media Player program began to play the online radio.

Lance hummed the tune for a while, admiring his awesome machine and its outstanding sound quality. Then he grabbed his next present and began to unwrap it.
"Happy birthday Lance, I hope you'll be able to put this program to use. Here's a rare battlechip for you too."
Lance got: NaviBuilder v5.2
Lance got: Cannon C 40
"Whee.. uncle cool.. ^____^" Lance smiled. "That means I can build my own navigator now." He set the program to install into his computer, and grabbed his final present.
It was the smallest present of the three, and Lance unwrapped it to reveal a crimson-red PET.
"OMG.." Lance's hands shook as he turned it on.
"HI THERE! I'm MaxMan.EXE, your new navigator. You can call me Max for short. Please attach this PET to your computer so I can get operator information, thank you!" And the cute, red and small navigator became quiet as suddenly as it had started speaking.
Lance quickly attached the PET to the computer and it began to charge up.
"So then Lance, will you show me your memories?" Max asked.
"Um .. how?" Lance stared blankly at Max.
"*sigh* Turn on that webcam, and put either of your eyes directly in front of the lens." Max said, and Lance obediently did so, and he saw a red light flash inside the webcam.
"Done, well .. not a really awesome life you have Lance .." Max had apparently gotten the "quiet" personality from Lance, and lost his hyper personality.
"Bleh, who won't, when your parents don't get along, people don't wanna be friends with you, and the only thing that keeps you alive is some TV show?" Lance said.
"Damn .. well, you've got me now .. stuff's gonna change." Max said.
"Eh, we'll see." Lance picked up the PET and looked at Max on the screen.
"Nice to meet you, MaxMan.EXE." Lance said, and the Lite emblem flashed and appeared on Max's chest.

Oh yes, long isn't it? ^__^ I can't stop when I start writing .. well, not going to be too long before the next chapter, I've already got the rough written down. Enjoy!

^_^ Awesome .. someone noticed. It's going to be revealed in a small bit in an upcoming chapter. There's also one more thing.
Main character Lancel Light is in no way related to the Dr.Light, or the Hikari family. Since the name Light was never really mentioned in the EXEs, its being used here. Fair enough hopefully.

And anyway, here's chapter 2.

Chapter 2

"Lance! Max! Your friend is here!" Dad shouted from downstairs.
"How'd he know your name?" Lance asked.
"Bleh, guess he checked up on my stats at the store .." Max said as they ran down the stairs, the PET in Lance's hand.
"I thought you said nobody wanted to be friends with you. D= " Max said suddenly.
"Anno's an exception.." Lance saw the redhead boy, at least some five inches taller than him, waiting in the hallway. "..and well, probably my only friend.."
"So you're Anno eh?" Max said.
"So you're Max eh?" Anno said.
"How did you.." Lance started to say as they went back up the stairs to his room.
"Your dad told me. Anyway Max, nice to meet you. Whoa.." Anno said, and spotted Lance's new PC.
"Damn, awesome setup dude .." He stared.
"Ain't it? Uncle sent me a Navi Builder program as well." Lance said.
"Awesome .. oh crud, I almost forgot. This is for you dude. ^o^ " Anno said, handing Lance a clumsily wrapped present. "Sorry 'bout that .. I don't wrap very well! ^^;; "
"Nah, thanks Anno. Wow .. a red PET carryca.. How'd you know I'd be getting a PET .." Lance said.
"Gotta be your dad Lance." Max said.
"Yup. Well, its red too, matches MaxMan and your PET. So then, lets see the Navi Builder." Anno said.
"Do the honors Max." Lance said as he put his PET into the case, and sent MaxMan jacking into the PC.

"Whe--et. That thing rocks.." Anno said, whistling. "Too bad there isn't any way to remove that power-balance, or else we could make the strongest navigators."
"Yeah or I could make Max stronger or something." Lance said.
"Um, it MAKES Navis, not edit pre-made ones .." Max corrected Lance.
"Hey uh Lance .. you ever hear about Protoman? Word's 'round that he was here sometime back." Anno said.
"The official dude's navi? I've not heard anything.." Lance said.
"Eh, I was thinking about getting a navigator that looks like him. 'Cause see, my old navigator was um .. S-Ranked by a virus .." Anno said quietly.
After a bit of silence, Lance spoke up.
"Say, how about I make you a Protoman clone thing with this Builder?"
"You can do that?" Anno asked.
"If he can't, I probably can. ^____^" Max smiled.
"Dudes, that would be awesome. I'd be awarding you cookie points forever if you can make something like that." Anno laughed.
"Well, we DO have to try out this Builder properly .." Max said.
"Yeah dude .. " Lance said, but then something was heard beeping. Anno pulled out his PET and stared at the Navi-less screen.
"Damn, gotta run guys.. my boss will kill me if I arrive late to work." Anno said.
"Lucky you. Well, come back tomorrow sometime .. its a Sunday. We'll have your ProtoMan ready." Lance said.
"Good luck then, and godspeed my good people." Anno bowed, and headed out the door and went downstairs.

"Well Max, lets start with getting some info on our Protoman. Start up NaviBuilder in one window, NetHomepage on another with Moogle Toolbars." Lance gave his voice commands.
"Roger that then .." Max started up the programs.
"NetHomepage, Surf mode activate! MaxMan, JACK IN AND ELECTROCUTE!" Lance shouted, holding up his PET.
"....Lance, I was in the PC already."
Lance heard Max, and fell over.

That's funny on so many levels!!!! But Lance's last Navi was S-Ranked by a VIRUS?? -_-; Who was his Navi? Shademan? Laughing

I'm kidding. But I wanna know: If Rockman and Netto are gone, why is Protoman still around? :/

Chapter 3

"Damn ... this Protoman is awesomely strong." Lance stared at all the data and information he found on Moogle.
"Heh, but there's this Megaman dude who's defeated Protoman a few times .. little blue dude .. like, he's older now .. he's of the Hikari guy who saved the world .." Max said, reading out from random pieces of text from a BBS.
"Bleh, this Moogle search engine owns. XD .. Max, could I look YOU up on this?" Lance said, laughing.
"Who knows?" Max smiled.
"Well, you can close all the other programs now .. um .. all processes close to NaviBuilder!" Lance said.
"..You'll confuse the programs with your random computer talk Lance, you better keep shut with that." Max said.
"..Fine, but don't say the programs'll want lunch breaks next.."
"..They HAVE to grab a byte to eat sometime.."
"Lame joke Max."

"Hey Max, this thing just put your emblem on this navigator." Lance said, poking the screen with his finger.
"Lets see, where's the Mr.Prog for this software.." Max said, and ran around the PC a bit, looking for it.
"Goofing off eh? C'mere!" Max pulled him back up to the screen.
"OH, THE NAVIGATORS YOU CREATE WILL HAVE YOUR COMPUTER USER DATA EMBLEM. YOU CANNOT CHANGE IT IN THIS VERSION OF NAVI-BUILDER." Mr.Prog said.
"Bleh.. well, we'll upgrade sometime soon.." Max said.
"Well, we're done, so .. Boot up, ProtoDodgeMan, EXECUTE!" Lance said.
Max stared in awe as the dark red lookalike of Protoman opened up his eyes from beneath the blue glasses, as the Lite Emblem glowed bright blue as he moved his arms around for a second.

"Um, I don't have an operator yet?" ProtoDodgeMan's first words, that he said very quietly.
"Well, he should be here soon." Lance said, and the doorbell downstairs rang.
"DUDES.. SORRY.. LIKE.. BIG NEWS.. NETBATTLE.." Anno came running up the stairs. "Remind me .. never to run again .. " And with that, he sat on the floor catching his breath.

Soon, ProtoDodgeMan was all set with Anno's memory, and installed into his PET.
"Like .. you look so much like Protoman!" Anno blurted out.
"And like, you've said that for the millionth time now." ProtoDodgeMan said.
"I know, but you still look so much like Protoman!" Anno said again.
Meanwhile, Max came across a virus, and was giving Lance the regular virus busting tutorial.
"So this AreaSteal goes here, and the WideSword goes like this.." Lance clumsily sent chip data to Max, who was though swiftly operated by him, scoring a double delete.
Anno stared at the battle for a second, and then shouted.
"THAT REMINDS ME!"
"Reminds you of what?" Lance asked.
"Y'know, the Netabttle Tournament. Word's just gone around the neighborhood. Tommorrow after school, they're having a tourney. Like, the champ gets 5000z prize, and some other "special secret prize" or soemthing." Anno said.
"Wow, who knows what random thing I could get with 5000 quid ..." Lance mumbled.
"Hah, with your operating? Dream on.." Max laughed.
"Mwar, we have all night for practice.." Lance laughed back, at which Max stopped laughing immediately.
"Heh, you two are going to be entering then eh?" ProtoDodgeMan asked.
"Yup! If you join, lets hope we meet somewhere for a battle." Lance said.
"Yeah, so we better get going for some practice too." Anno said.
"What? We're entering?" ProtoDodgeMan said.
"Of course! So, good luck you two, and thaks a LOT for my ProtoMan. Godspeed, my good people!" And with that, Anno waved and headed out.

"Does he always say that godspeed thing, Lance?" Max asked, as Lance waved back.
"Oh yes .. well Max, I think that Mettaur wants to eat you!" Lance replied.
"..All night long.. practice. Lets show that virus who's eating here tonight!" Max said.
"Lets go then, Battle sequence startup!" Lance shouted. "EXECUTE!"

I'm so sorry for the late update.. ^^; *bows* I had a lot of things to do this week, well anyway, here's the new chapter.

Chapter 5

And the battle started, and Anno amazed everyone immediately.
"THE SWORDS! GO DODGEMAN!"
Max watched Anno quickly send three sword type chips to ProtoDodgeMan. The chips fused, and ProtoDodgeMan sliced a large green sword which hit Swift. It dealt heavy damage.
"AH! Be polite, you don't make a good first impression boy.." Swift shouted.
"Don't worry Swifty, we're just getting started!" The girl had not lost her confidence, and her voice was still cheery.
"Hey Max.. what just happened?" Lance said, amazed at Anno's attack.
"Program Advance.. I'LL TELL YOU LATER! WATCH!" Max shouted, as Swift had suddenly begun to shoot thunderballs out of her hand. They moved quite fast all throughout ProtoDodgeMan's battle area.
"WHOA! DODGE!" Anno shouted, and ProtoDodgeMan jumped all over the field, doing somersaults trying to avoid the attacks. And..
"YES! HIT! Now Swifty, ThunderStrike!" The girl shouted, and Swift put her arms straight in front of her. Facing ProtoDodgeMan, she sent a large lightning bolt all throughout that row.
"WHAT THE?" Anno shouted.
ProtoDodgeMan was deleted.

And almost the whole stadium was "what the" with Anno.
The girl was giggling uncontrolably as she jacked her navi out. Anno did the same, and stared at his PET screen as ProtoDodgeMan was being repaired with backup data.
"Like.. what the hell?" ProtoDodgeMan said.
"Dude.. what the **** was that last attack all about?" Anno said.
"..500 damage... and that.. those thunderballs.. 200.. she like.. S-Ranked me.." ProtoDodgeMan struggled and said.
"WHAT? THAT'S.. LIKE.. IMPOSSIBLE!" Anno shouted.
Anno stepped down from the arena and left quietly.

Lance stared blankly at the girl and her navigator.
"Dude? How the hell are we supposed to compete against .. HER?" He said.
"No idea.. I'm clueless.. you better back up my data before this fight Lance." Max said.
"Do it now. Backup mode, active." Lance enabled backing up of Max's data.
"Well boys? How'd you like me throwing him away?" The girl came up to Lance and said.
"Bleh, go away." Lance said.
"Lance! Don't be rude.." Max said quickly.
"Oh? Nice.. the first guy that hasn't been staring at you all the time Koiri." Swift said.
"You're called Koiri, eh?" Max asked.
"Yup.. and you two ain't that bad looking either." Koiri said.
Max went slightly red, oblivious to the fact his armor was already red though. Lance had no change in him, he simply looked Koiri in the eye.
"You're cheating, aren't you?" He said.
"Oh? Why'd I do that? Swift's strongest and fastest attacks are her ThunderStrike and LightningBall. I just decided to use them in battle." Koiri said, running her hand over the back of her head, smiling.
She had a peach complexion, shiny orange eyes - result of digital contact lenses probably. She wore clothes of an yellow theme, to match that of her navigator.

Lance sighed and turned around. He was very worried about his next match, and very oblivious to the other matches going on.
"Um.. Lance? Would this be a good time to.. tell you something.." Max said quietly.
"What is it?" Lance asked, and Max pulled out a transparentish red sword from the back of his cape. Lance stared.
"You had a sword?" Lance asked.
"Yeah.. I kept quiet about it all along. Its like, it'll reduce my power for the MaxBuster if I use this though. But its sharp!" Max smiled.
"LIKE.. HOW COULD YOU.." Lance shouted.
"Sowwrie.." Max said quietly.
"No.. its okay. I guess we can use this to battle Swift. Hey um.. hold on. What're your moves with this sword?"
"A LOT of my attacksa are based on my sword. Some are hidden, you'll have to find them or something .. I don't know." Max said.
"Uh.. hey wait. Anno used that Power Advance.."
"Program"
"Right.. with three chips right?" Lance said.
"Yeah. Sword, WideSword and LongSword." Max told him.
"Well.. remember that chip Uncle sent us? The Cannon C? We have A and B Cannons. Want to try using the three of them together, if we're lucky, an awesome big machinegun'll come up to help us?" Lance said.
"Worth a shot. It works. ^__^" Max smiled. But just as Lance reached for his chip carrycase, the crowd exploded with shouts.
"Looks like the semi-finals for that block has finished before ours.. Lefy's in the finals. Trouble.." Max said.

"Well you two, its rude to keep a girl waiting!" Koiri called out to Max and Lance.
"Bu..but.." Lance said quietly. He could hear the announcer shout out about this battle.
"No time Lance.. we'll have to depend on the MaxBlade.." Max said.
"That what its called?" Lance asked.
"More than a normal blade Lance.. believe in it. Like me." Max assured Lance.
"Well Swift, lets go then. This should be quick." Koiri said.
"...Damn. Here we go. MAXMAN! BATTLE SEQUENCE STARTUP, AND EXECUTE!" Lance shouted, executing Max.
"SWIFT! PARALYZE THEIR HEARTS!!" Koiri said, almost giggling throughout the shout.

Cool fic. It could use a space in-between each character's lines, but aside from that it's good. Although Max using the Max-Blade... great name!! I look forward to reading the next chapter. 7/10 so far.

Chapter 6

Max's heart throbbed as he faced Swift. The lightning girl, yellow, cute, small and long hair.

"So then. Why're you just standing there?" Swift quickly called out to Max, and began to dash around her area.

Max looked at her running around. And he closed his eyes, trying to think of a way how to stop her. Suddenly, he heard ProtoDodgeMan's voice in his head.
"Max. Your sword."
Max's eyes opened, and he dashed into Swift's area, and swiftly striked a WideSword with the MaxBlade.

"MAX!" Lance shouted at his PET.

"Wha'?" Max stared at Swift, slowed down, and hit by the sword.

"Max LOOK! Your sword!! IT DEALT SOME 120 DAMAGE TO SWIFT!" Lance shouted again.

"But I .. I hadn't moved at all!" Max said.

"Wha'?" Lance stared at Max.

But he didn't have much time to stare at Max, because Koiri was whispering something to Swift in her PET.
Max looked around, and saw the emblem on his chest glowing mildly. He pulled out his sword, and suddenly, his emblem glowed brightly. Max sliced a normal Sword with it, which Swift easily dodged.

"Something is .. wrong .. or weird .." Lance was saying quietly.

But right then, Swift disappeard from the field - and re-appeared on the panel behind Max. It became part of her area, and she surged electricity through her body, shocking all the other eight panels around her. Max was paralyzed, and heavily damaged.

"MAX! CHIPS INCOMING!" Lance sent three chips. Sword S, WideSword S and an AreaSteal S.

Max heard Lance, but then noticed Swift right in front of him, with her arms in front of her.
"THUNDERSTRIKE!"
"NOT IF I CAN'T HELP IT!"
The whole battlefield brightened.

The spectators were all open mouthed, they had not expected anything like that. Lance was terrified, and Koiri was .. still smiling. (-__-'') But her smile faded as the brightness faded. ProtoDodgeMan had sliced through Swift, standing right behind her. In front of Swift, Max had recovered.

"What the ****?" Anno shouted. He had run back into the stadium seconds after the light flash ended.

"SWIFT! ARE YOU OKAY?" Koiri's face had a very worried look.

"I .. think I am .." Swift was still not deleted. ProtoMan jumped into the other panel where Swift had been when paralyzing Max. It became part of Max's area again.
Lance noticed something. Both Max and ProtoDodgeMan's emblems were glowing lightly, with the red part of it glowing brighter.

"Max! Go for it! I can't just make your moves for you." ProtoDodgeMan shouted.

"Does that mean, that move Max did before .. was actually done by Dodge?" Lance wondered.

"LANCE! WHAT'S GOING ON?" Anno shouted as he ran up beside Lance.

"I've not got a single clue .." Lance said quietly. Then he shouted, "MAX! DON'T FORGET YOUR CHIPS!"
"YOU'VE GOT ONE TOO DODGE!" Anno shouted, sending DodgeMan one.

Max wasted no time using the MaxBlade to use the Sword chip on Swift. Swift was damaged, and she moved to the back of her field just as Max used the WideSword. Max's attack missed. ProtoDodgeMan jumped two panels into Swift's area, and used the Sword chip on her. And then, ProtoDodgeMan's and Max's emblems stopped glowing. ProtoDodgeMan was automatically pulled out of the battle.

"Wha'..?" Lance stared at Anno.

"Dodge's like .. back!" Anno stared at his PET.

"Uh.. I wanted to stay in the battle longer.." ProtoDodgeMan said.

"SWIFT! YOU CAN'T WASTE TIME! LIGHTNING BALL!" Koiri shouted, and Swift shot her fast moving thunderballs.

"MAX!" Lance shouted, alarmed.

"...Pieces of pie..." Max said quietly. "LANCE! I THINK HERE COMES A HIDDEN MOVE!"

"Wha'?" Lance said.

Max began to swing the MaxBlade in front of him in a circle. He began to move it so fast, that it formed a kind of shield in front of him. The Lightning Balls passed him on the other panels, but the ones coming directly at him were stopped by the MaxBlade.

"Gah! I .. can't hold on any longer.." Max said, and a Lightning Ball hit the shield, and it pushed him back one panel.
"Uh oh".

"SWIFT NOW! THUNDER STRIKE! YOU JUST CAN'T LOSE THIS!" Koiri shouted happily. Swift ran in front of Max, and extended her arms. And then she shot out her deadly thunder beam. Max moved out of the way, a fraction of a second before the attack got to his panel. He sliced with the MaxBlade, a low power WideSword. It damaged Swift by 50 HP.

"Oh my.. that leaves Swift with only.. 120 HP" Koiri mumbled.

Lance was oblivious. He really did not know much about how much HP Max or Swift had. He quickly sent a Cannon chip to Max. Max used it at once, but Swift moved out of the way.

"SWIFT! Stay at the back row! Max's swords can't reach you there!" Koiri said.

"But.." Swift began to say.

"STAY THERE!" Koiri shouted.

Swift obidently stayed there, and began to move randomly in the three panels she was now confined to. Max waited, trying to think what to do. It would still be a while til Lance would be able to send him a chip. Suddenly, Swift began to shoot small beams of electricity. They were quite slow, but they moved along the row they were in. Max dodged them easily, and headed into the front column in his area. He suddenly remembered the slicing move ProtoDodgeMan did with the Sword chip - and remembered that he had executed a move like that.

"Lance! I need Full Sync!" Max shouted.

"Fu' what?" Lance stared blankly.

"FULL SYNCHRONIZATION! CONCENTRATE ON ME!" Max shouted.

"Uh?" Lance was clueless, and as far as he knew, he had all his attention on Max. But NOT his concentration - he realized.
"MAX!! GO FOR IT!!" Lance shouted, hoping a shout would work.

And it did somehow. Lance felt his PET vibrating hard in his hands, and he felt a strange power going through him.
Max felt Lance's strength in him, and dodged the next two small electric beams Swift shot.

"UH OH.. NO SWIFT! GET OUT OF THE BACK ROWS!" Koiri shouted. But it was too late.

Max had jumped into Swift's area, and sliced a WideSword using the MaxBlade. Swift took 120 damage.

"NO! SWIFT! SWIFTY!!" Koiri shouted. Swift was defeated.

Max jacked out of the netbattle machine, and Lance could not feel the power anymore.
"Well done MaxMan .. well done .." Lance said quietly.
