And, he actually move in the battle, too much.
He jumps and jumps! :O

Oh, and don't save files as GIF in MSpaint.
Do in in PhotoShop or some other program.

They look too much like a recolour with mask edits
If you want to make it look more real maybe use a different clour for the slashes,make the scarf hellva longer and more scarf like

I concur.

Despite your effort on the sheet, your sprite looks like a Shadowman/Shadow Soul recolor sans the face, like Mansako stated. I have no qualms on the individual attack sprites, but the shurikens and kunais look untouched.

I'm going to encourage you to practice. This is too much of a recolor.

Also i would liek to add to my comment about the scarf part.
It wasn't only The sword that made Hotsuma,Hotsuma it was also the fact that his scarf was like 10 feet long and dangling...If you want to make it more like Hotsuma,use the dash effects to create the stealth dash he uses in the game
