And, xfyrethespooky. Why Deltar's weapons are always different? Well, this is Deltar's power. Ability to change sword's shape. Bombs and Swords are Deltar's weapons ^_^

Okay, I sounded a bit rude, I'm sorry. That was completely not the intention. However, I think Core is being a bit rude in calling me on something publically that is outright ridiculous, but really, is the artist's feelings hurt? Did I break any forum rules? No, it was just a comment about the name, and yes, he said he wasn't gonna change it, so what? I'm not the one who went on about it when he said he didn't wanna change it. I said "oh, okay" and went about my forum browsing. Core decided to make a scene outta it.
And you point is sorta moot in the sense that "Ultimately, there's no rule anywhere in the forum or the internet about naming characters." but really, there is also no rule on the internet or this forum about how well you sprite, and yet we're allowed to comment on that?

With humans, their names can sometimes have deeper symbolism to their names, and while it never means literally, there are chances where their names can, metaphorically, be with reason.
However. With characters such as this, ESPECIALLY NetNavi's, a name such as this is a little more than the naming of a human.
A name such as Trill or Blues is a reference to a musical term, and regardless of whether or not Blues actually plays the blues, you can sort of see why they chose that name for him in his appearance and attitude. But abstract names like that are not what we're arguing about, here. WE're arguing about something a LOT more solid. Seeing as a Seraph is just as much a solid-creature as a dog, a snake, or a shark. And again, I use this example, Capcom didn't name SharkMan as SheepMan for a reason. And naming something without any wings a Seraph is the same thing.
Now, again, I could not care less if he changed it, really. I made the suggestion based on my knowedge of the word, (seeing as made the same mistake calling my character Seraphim Omega Soul when it fact it wasn't), he said it was old and wasn't gonnna change it, I took that as it was and it didn't exactly bug me, and then CORE decided to make a big deal and a forum argument outta it. It was a little comment, and he wasn't exactly hurt by it - Core took it outta proportion, and you're only backing her up.
I'm going to comment on the rest of your post because it just ties in with the fact that, yes, while in other anime's name's tend to be more lineant, but before I even consider the notion the this name doesn't have to mean anything at all, I'd like ONE example of a Navi named after an animal/beast/object that doesn't resemble it in the slightest.
Now, just for the record, I don't care if he changes it, it's old news and quite frankly, him changing/altering the name or sprite will make no difference in my life However, when mods feel the need to publically scold me (as opposed to PM) over something as unfiar as this, it is only fair that I get to publically defend myself. Just like the real world.

You don't have to. It was a suggestion which you decided was not needed, and that's cool. The mods are the ones keeping this going, as I've personally already accepted that it's just a sprite and thus you change what you will regardless of whether or not you did any research on the name.
Oh, and PhantomReaver, I'm terribly sorry about this. It was just a suggestion and while I didn't think you'd take it personally, especially after I DIDN'T say anything once you said you weren't going to change it, the mods seemed to like speaking for you and thus 'cause an unneeded commotion. Regardless, you're spriting skills are getting much better, especially your shading/colouring. Work on more poses in the future, though.

Oh, I don't blame you Age. I didn't took it personally, so don't worry about me. Your comments are welcome. And later I said that I am not going to change it because this discussion here is a little like...off-topic?
Every Comments about my Characters are Welcome, but Seraph is just pretty old character that I made long time ago, so I am not going to change anything in him (name, sprite etc.)
Well, and about my DCR and Deltar. DCR isn't that similiar to Deltar. It may be unnoticable, but his helmet, hand, arms and armor are different. You should closely look at him. And DCR's sword is another type of sword (Deltar holds his sword in hand). But of course thanks for comments guys ^^
So, Zeffaru and Karasuman are really hard to made, so it will take me little more time to made them (Ehh...and School is a reason of course..)
But for now here we have one of my older sprites - Dark Konoko! ^^

First off, I apologize to Phantom. Sorry your thread had to come to this. You're welcome to make another one once I'm through.
Age, I find it interesting you can diss out critques, but can't handle them when someone tries to tell you something else.
You have an opinion. Your opinion is NOT FACT. There is proper etiquette when you crit someone's work, be it the craft, the title, names yadayada. Saying "You failed to do this!", when you don't know if he's already researched it, thrown it out the window, and went "Imma do it this way instead".
Indeed, there's quite a few Navis without meaninful names. Is Duo "two people singing in a duet"? Slur has nothing to do with her name. The beasts in EXE 6, nothing. Just names.
Anyways, Core's just doing his job. He has a right to do his job. Same with Planty. I don't like seeing people sass the mods. I suggest you not do it again.
