I hope you realize how much work NumberGirl puts into these translations. Flippantly asking for an episode doesn't give her much credit for the hours it takes her to do each one. :P _________________ "Cats are interesting. They're kind of like girls. I am aware of that. I'm just not as happy as I should be since 20 left me oblivious. |

Check the Beast 20 thread.
Oh and Ryouko, having done Chinese for many years and now picking up Japanese I know full well how difficult translating easy day to day stuff is. Translating full episodes shows both fluency in the languages, as well as dedication and perseverance.
That's why I'll be happy and eager for more translations when we get some, but know to never expect or demand them. Hopefully, other people will appreciate the work and effort Number Girl is putting in with just the three she's done.
So to everyone, if you ever feel the urge to flippantly request a translation of anything, try translating it yourself first. Then think again about asking. _________________

Three scripts at any rate, Ryouko hasn't subbed the other two or if she has hasn't released them on SR yet. _________________

it seems that #extreme-subs (irc.cartoon-world.org) made a Beast 14 sub using Numbergirls translation script. |

I wonder if they did so with her permission.

I actually -do- have Episode 14 subtitled by REO, but I'm not releasing it just yet. REO will be subtitling the entirety of Beast, starting at the first episode. You should start seeing releases fairly soon. _________________ "Cats are interesting. They're kind of like girls. When they come talk to you, it's great. We can't really sue them over something that isn't ours in the first place. XP
*referring to the distributed subbed eps, not the script itself* _________________

True, but is it SO HARD to at least give me a heads-up that they're going to use the script?
While it's for the fandom, it won't hurt to inform the contributor. _________________ TGS 2007:MISSED! T_T |

I know. It does make me angry that people will still do stuff like that. People will take stuff, use it, then claim it as their own/won't inform the contributor.
It happens a lot of the time on the internet, sadly enough. _________________

Credit may be nice, but I think it's much more better if permission was asked for first. It's nice to know if someone wants to use the translations for something. |

I wonder...
How about instead of more than one group doing subs for the same series, why not just team up and get the series get subbed faster?
I mean, we all post here, meet up in the same chatroom(s) and such. It won't be difficult to contact everybody else, I think, so...
I don't know -_-;
It's just that more than one group subbing the same series using the same translated script doesn't sit well with me :/ _________________ TGS 2007:MISSED! T_T |

No,I had #extreme-subs cancel it since REO is doing the whole series...but I might see if #extreme-subs could find a translator and start doing Stream. |
