From what I've heard, you can't face ForteXX in EXE5 DS, sadly. Odd, too, since he's easily found in ToB and ToC.

Actually, you can. You just have to defeat NebulaGreySP and get all seven icons in one version of the game for BassXX to replace BassSP as a random encounter in the other.

Í just wanted to know if anyone has defeated him yet. He's effing hard.

I don't know if this has been anwered in this topic, but it'd be a hassle to search through 51 pages...does anybody know where to obtain Vulcan 3 M in EXE 5 DS? Its the only chip I need to get P.A. Compete.

Someone did answer this. Raijin did. Check more carefully.

My only hint is that assuming that this chip is in the same place that it is in the original GBA version of EXE5, be prepared to look "off the beaten path" for it...

Another more specific hint:

If I remember correctly, it's REALLY off the beaten path. As in not on the Internet at any virus level.

If you have the GBA version with it you could build the PA in there and convert it to the DS and use it there. That is,if you have the GBA version.

Or you could just keep trading chips in oran. You have 18/64 odds.

18 out of 64? Care to inform us how you arrived at that probability? I am deeply suspicious, since this reduces to 9 in 32, which is well over one in four. And by my experiences, no chip trader gives odds even CLOSE to something that high.

The book I bought says it. While it is for the gameboy version still, it works with the DS.
They're pretty much all standard chips
The odds are 12/64 for your various level one chips not counting navis.
18/64 for level 2 chips.
and
18/64 for level 3 chips. Like M-cannon.
I got these from the bradygames GBA stratagy guide if anyone wants to look.

That simply says which "level" the chip falls in, not the specific probabilities associated with each chip.

18/64 is the probability that you will get a chip in the same "tier" as the Vulcan3. Since there are maybe...40~50 chips in each tier, and if the chips are all equally likely from that tier, the probability of getting the chip you want, code and all, is markedly less. More like about 550 to 1 odds. If there are about 45 of each tier, and three codes of each chip, assuming they are all equally likely, the probability comes out to...

18/64 x 1/45 x 1/3 = 18/8640 ~ 20/8640 ~ 1/540

Edit...wait, I need to redo my math. And to think I JUST covered this topic in Discrete Math...

42 in the first probabillity range, 54 in the second, 72 in the third (which does contain the basic navi chips, so I miscounted. sorry)
15 in the range of 12/64 odds.
So I'm sorry if I messed anyone up but M-cannon is in the undernet 6'es bugfrag trader. If that helps.

That really doesn't clear anything up, you know. I'm more vexed about what you're trying to say now than I was a couple of posts ago. o_o;

Actually, there is even more confusion added to the formulae when you don't have all of the Standard/Mega Chips... because there is an increased chance (obviously unknown at present) for getting chips you don't have when you don't have those particular chips in your library. Yesh. >_>

I'd correct that forumla you just gave, but I'm not in the right state right now X_x

Well I know that, NJ. The Chip Traders do skew odds when your library isn't full--and tips the balance in your favor to plug the holes in the library.

The calculation I made assumes that ALL chips are equally likely to result from a Chip Trader, which is obviously not true. Thus, the true odds are probably even worse.

Yeah, I messed up with that. I'm sorry. But I do know that there's some kind of minigame like thing in the DS game. It's a memory sequence game using the touch screen.

In the DS version, I was going through the various nets after I opened nebula hole 1 so I could get level 2 chips. I think I was in one of the ship's nets. Not the one wth the water but one of the ones like the the view comp or something like that. So I found this guy and he gave me a party NCP program when I beat this game. Then I had to go to somewhere in end city then squrille comp 13 then the kichen comp. Which I'm at.
The game is just a memory sequence game. Like red ninja prog blue then white. Now pick what order they were in. And you had to pick it with the stylus.

Hi

I need help completing my Librarys in ToC, and i don't have the time to check the whole topic (my connection is also not good enough, takes too long to load Sad)
Im searching for these chips:

Vulcan2 B
Vulcan3 K or N (Don't know which code it has)
AirSpin3
Standardchips 150 and 151

Im also searching for some Omega Navis:

Shadowman
Numberman
Tomahawkman
Toadman
Cloudman
Cosmoman
Gridman

I need those informations as soon as possible. I want to get the Forte Icon tomorrow, when the DS Game is released here (Germany)

EDIT: Forget that part about the Navis. I just found the right FAQ on GameFAQs. Sorry for that.

Umm, Vulcan 3 N is found in a green mystery data in the Gargoyle Computer.

Vulcan 2 B, umm, try combing the mystery data in Oran and Scilab, I think it's in Scilab, if not, than either Oran or End Area.

Chip 150 is Meta Gel, which is in a blue mystery in the dumpling computer in End City, jack in from the real world.

Chip 151 is Grab Banish. It's in green mystery data in, I think, End Area? I'm not really sure on this one.

Can't help with Airspin 3 though. Forgot where I found it.

One more thing, all of the green mystery datas save Vulcan 3 N are found on Level 1. This means that no portals to Nebula Area are open, and the viruses are in their level 1 forms.

Hope this helps.
