I was wondering if any of REO's esteemed members read/view One Piece. If not, I'd suggest it as it is a great series (thought I'd suggest avoiding the dub, lest you want your ears to explode). I just read chapter 404, and I must say the CP9 battles aare surprising me more and more. [spoil:3539498edf]What with Kaku having a giraffe fruit, and then all the switching of opponents. I particularly enjoyed Franky's fight with Fukorou, as Chopper's inability to get cola was pretty funny. Fukorou's defeat leads me to beleive that we might be seeing a Franky and Chopper versus Kumadori, which will be awesome. :O[/spoil:3539498edf] _________________

This might be suprising to here from me since I actually like dubs over originals, but the One Piece dub is just... bad, to avoid flaming. I mean, changing rice balls and other Japanese foods to cookies and such, and other pointless edits? I'm gald I went to the SavOnePiece site Wackoman use to have in his sig. >.>
What got me into One Piece was Chopper, really. Heck, Chopper is my favorite character ( I blame Wackoman for been a fan of Chopper before me! ) but I wish they hadn't given him the voice he has in the dub. @_X It sounds like Amy Rose! It probably is, too. >_< I might read the manga once I get enough money. Or maybe just get Shounen Jump. -_-; _________________ MegaMan Kilobit

Based on the spoiler for 405...
[spoil:7b414b9fc5]It'll more likely be Franky/Chopper VS Fukurou/Kumadori. Fukurou survived the attack and something happens with Kumadori at the end of the chapter apparently.
Regardless, it means more Franky and more Franky is always a good thing in my fanboyish eyes.[/spoil:7b414b9fc5]
Anyhow, One Piece is one of my favorite manga series ever. Took me a little while to get in to it... never really payed attention to it until I started getting the english Shounen Jump monthly, and when I noticed that hey, it's actually really good I went and marathoned the rest of the manga.
Favorite character by a huge margin is Franky. |

Franky is indeed quite awesome. I really hope he joins (he certainly fits the bill ), and he has some interesting moves. My favorite character is by far Robin. <3[spoil:7c4164c591] I haven't read 405 yet, but Fukorou and Kumadori is far more fair than just Kumadori, because I think Kumadori was had lower Douriki.[/spoil:7c4164c591] Oh, and Haly K here's a link to the scanned manga (if I'm not allowed to post this mods and admins please remove it ).

Oh he's joining alright. He's got all the requirements for a Strawhat and there's really no other shipwright just like him! I'm loving his battle more and more as it goes on. Franky's pretty close to dethroning Brightman from his perch as my avatar for the past year or so.
I don't get why people I talk to are sceptic about [spoil:2753a6926e]Sogeking being able to take on Jyabura.[/spoil:2753a6926e] He has more than enough resources. I'm looking very forward to seeing him fight with that Kabuto of his too. |

Actually, with the spoilers from 405, [spoil:8fea3070b6]Kumadori eats all the food in the fridge and grows really large o.o.[/spoil:8fea3070b6]
My favorite character is going to be the musician, but until he/she arrives it's uhh... let me think about it =(. _________________

One Piece just all around wins. It's one of my favorite properties at the moment. I haven't read much of the manga, just select chapters such as the ones where [spoil:cd8bb87e2e]Luffy goes Gear 2, Robin's backstory, Zoro and Sogeking vs. Kaku and Jyabura, Luffy goes Gear 3, etc.[/spoil:cd8bb87e2e] I'm still in Skypiea because I watch the anime instead. |

I'm very glad my hopes are valid, and the all of the CP9 fights aren't going to be serious. [spoil:ecd994bd19]I find it tremendously amusing that Kumadori devoured all the food. I'd reallly like to see what's going on eith the UsoZo vs. Jyaku fight. I really want to see what the Kabuto can do. >_<[/spoil:ecd994bd19] _________________

This probably has nothing to do with the topic at hand, but it's still One Piece. Anyway, I told my friend this joke about it the other day:
One of the most constant themes in One Piece is the Cursed Fruit. Seems like almost everyone has eaten at least one Cursed Fruit in their lives. I mean, you're just walking along, and you see a guy shoot lightning out of his fingertips.
"Hey, did you eat a Cursed Fruit?"
"Yeah, hasn't everyone?"
"I haven't."
"Then you're a freak."
My friend thought it was pretty funny. _________________

I love One Piece, and the manga is great! Thanks for the link! Now I don't have to wait on Shonen Jump to read on in the series (they take their sweet time!).
I think it's pretty funny about the devil fruit too (the everyone's trying it schtick)... that's kinda funny! That means the majority of bad-guys on the show/in the manga can't swim! They must need floaters... pictures Buggy and Chopper in water-wings (so cute, lol)! _________________

Well there's also the Seastone curse part of the devil's fruit. [spoil:84d27eb715]Speaking of which, somehow I doubt Robin's cuffs will come off so easily with all of this scramble for the key deal we're getting. Though this'll be a good chance to see if Zoro can cut the cuffs since Seastone is actually, supposidly harder than diamond itself. Then again, we would've tried doing that with the cuffs he and Sogeking are in.[/spoil:84d27eb715] |

I doubt he'd be able to cut them at an angle like that, remember on Little Garden when he couldn't cut through Mr. 3's Service Set because of the angle mostly? Prolly the same situation here, but it's possible he could cut them by the end of the arc, since that'll be a small step toward fighting Mihawk again but he'll still have quite a ways to go. The current arc is definately my favorite by far, one can only hope Oda keeps this up, with the series already past its halfway point it can only get better. |

For those of you wondering why there wasn't a new chapter lately this week, Oda was sick. I'm not sure how much he's recovered yet but I pray to god that One Piece is still going to go strong. |

Chapter 406 is already confirmed to be in this upcomming week's Shonen Jump. I don't think anyone needs to worry about One Piece ending prematurely. _________________

Oh I must've overlooked that. Thanks. Still, you can't help but be worried when a great man like Eichiiro Oda is under the weather. |

Well yeah, but everyone gets sick sometimes, and when that happens they need to drop everything and rest up. I'm not saying people shouldn't worry, but I saw some people panicking to the point where they thought both the manga and the anime were going to be cancelled and we'd never get to see the end of the series, which is kind of ridiculous.
EDIT: And let it be known that chapter 406 is indeed in this week's Shounen Jump, though not readily available everywhere yet.
Spoilers for things that will happen:
[spoil:172e6ec7c6]The fight between Franky and Fukuro comes to an end, while it seems the fight between Chopper and Kumadori continues. Meanwhile with Zoro and Uso- Sogeking, Zoro comes up with two options of how to deal with their current situation, neither of which Sogeking finds favorable.[/spoil:172e6ec7c6] _________________

[spoil:4864982beb]Zoro using Sogeking as a sword = Priceless. Kumadori's dang vicious with his "Life Returns" and shaping his hair into fists for multiple Shigans. And Chopper can't control his transformation points if he eats two Rumble Balls in a row. [/spoil:4864982beb] |

The Davey Back Fight is probably one of my favorite atory arcs in One Piece. I know a lot of fans don't like it due to its filler-ish nature, but I think what they fail to realize is that it was an absolutely necessary storyline. The situation during the Skypiea arc became pretty dire towards the end and Water 7 has been a non-stop roller coaster ride of plot twists and emotions as far as all the characters involved are concerned, and both are really long storylines as well. The Davey Back Fight was short, quick, to the point, and plainly just a whole lot of fun. More importantly it brings us back down considerably from the high tension of the Skypiea finale and sets things up so we get pulled into the drama of Water 7 more easily. It goes to show that Oda just knows how to tell a good story and use humor and drama to offset and highlight one another. _________________
