Most people use 'WiFi' to indicate wireless through the internet, so you can play with anyone in the world, not just local like 5DS. _________________ Make a random avatar/ banner. | Atomic Fire's oekaki board. |

I am pretty sure it just means that one can battle other people wirelessly. you know like within a hundred feet or whatever, but if someone can confirm that you can play this game on the internet. I will go and buy a copy. _________________

Actually, no it doesn't. Double Team DS does not have internet compatibility, only the normal DS to DS WiFi. So, no battling with other people over the internet, unfortunately. Which isn't all that bad, really, when you think about it. The lag caused by it would be horrible. _________________

Or you know.
You could just check the cover and look for an incredibly noticable blue circle that says Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. |

Yeah, but they wouldn't be able to go on forums and ask about it 100 times if they did that. _________________ Here's lookin' at you kid. |

well, I have the game and the best range is 30 feet. i have no idea where the 100 foot range came from. also, it does NOT work on Nintendo Wifi b/c Nintendo started the whole WiFi thing AFTER MMBN5 DS was released. hopefully, there will be a DS version of MMBN6 and it will be the type of WiFi compatible that you all are talking about. _________________ Avatar by Tabby (of my NetNavi, GuincoolMind.EXE) : : :

I've always thought a MMBN online would be cool. Here's the way I figured it:
You start out as a new person in a neighborhood(the neighborhoods would work like Animal crossing for the DS, I guess). You'd design your operator, then go through a quick intro to how the game worked, at least the real-world portion. Then you get a package with basic navi parts and it goes over the whole customization thing and you get a regular old Normal navi and all you can do is choose the color, voice, name, and maybe a few other things. You can go online, fight viruses in real-time instead of the MMBN RPG movement, you just see viruses running around a 3d world. You get a basic folder and every now and then you can open the custom screen and select chips. As you go, you'll fins more navi parts and stuff like busters and upgrades, etc. In the real world you can go chip shopping, and go to clothes stores and customize your character.
That's the way I'd see it, but Capcom would never do it. Maybe if they thought it was a more profitable idea. |

They're probably not doing it because of the unpopularity of their other MMO Monster Hunter, which is a PSO clone but in a Dungeons & Dragons sorta setting.
Though making the game on DS would most likely work, but I would hope nobody would find a new cheap method to win automatically in it. Almost every WiFi DS game has that. Mario Kart's got Snaking, Tony Hawk's got the infinite combos and the collision lag, Metroid Prime: Hunters just has some big damn unbalances, especially in Download Play. |

It depends on if you think snaking is cheating. And that's why I'd limit bass and other really strong navis and chips to where you'd get them much later in the game. And where not too many people could choose them. |

Here is the big thing the DS game all tend to have some form of Wireless. This doesn't mean they all have nintendo WiFi. The wireless most 2 or more person games the wireless is simply the two player mode and the wireless can consist of Multi card, and single card, or download, play. WiFi is simply a program that was planned at the beginning of the DS but never emplemented till recently. WiFi is the one that basically plays over the internet, and is only available in games thats boxes have a blue sun burst on the front of,or at least that is how they are labled in the US.
Like many have said Double team has Tournament play, which seems like it owuld be WiFi because of the up to 8 player thing but it is simply a basic multiplayer mode. Rockman probably won't have a WiFi DS game for some time because of the lags that would ensue from it, plus it would simply be WiFi in tourny mode and WiFi isn't allways 100% stable becuase of the frequency it operates on, is generally the same as cordless phones, and other basic Wireless devices. _________________ I didn't lose my mind, I sold it on eBay!

MMBN5 DS could of been WiFi even though WiFi was made after it because Metroid Prime Hunters was made before WiFi and is WiFi and it was the first ever WiFi game... |

Uh.
Techincally, every current Wi-Fi game was created before the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection was set up. It doesn't matter when it was made, the game would have had to been delayed until the WFC went public. Also, you really need to start separating your sentences. |

I had a concept for a similar EXE universe mmorpg but it was for a story called 'NetWork: Build your Net Dream' using the battle system and chips from exe. The Navi concept and cyber world concepts.
How it works thou is that there are two people you play as: Op and Navi
Op's name is Either your real name or your account name your Navi's name would be whatever you wanted to be. Create your own Icon to establish your identification throughtout the net. Log in from certian areas.
Basicly where ever you were to plug in would be the server you log into to. Then you go build your folder buy chips, trade, upgrade, navi customizer.
I had a recent idea to use a Battle Chip gate similar idea like throught USB ports or something. What do you think?
oh yah forgot to menton, Customize your own Navi's look _________________ Xbox Live Gamertag username:

I have always liked the idea of a MMO MMBN game, but the way the series is set up it just cant happen. You would have to take it into a 3D huge net. You will have to modify the battle system perhaps make it more action. If it was in 3D there would be much more navi customization as well. |

Well, couldn't one be just... well... made? I've got some programming friends that I could talk to. A big disclaimer might be appropriate. And for the characters, multiple customizations of Normal Netnavis? A level system might work. Like...
- Dark Green or Dark Red (Normal)
- Yellow, Blue, Light Red, Light Green (Elemental associations), or Purple (for Uranet Navi/ Darksoul)
- Orange (Official) or Black (Uranet Boss) <keep Elemental>
