Looks like Akira Takahashi, a regular art director since the original EXE, did this episode. However, it also looks like s/he altered his/her style a little bit to give the kids a "cuter" look... so while I'll wait for another art director to make a definite opinion on this, it seems a higher-up decided the kids needed to look more child-like.

Furthermore, Enzan's yelling-Cross-Fusion animation was redrawn (I assume by Akira; looks like his/her style), and Netto got a new plug-in sequence (and it looks like the previous episode's art director, Taketani Kyoko, did it). Oh, and Grega Rockman got a short henshin sequence; looks nice.

As for the episode...

It starts out with a short recap from the previous episode (just from Zero blasting Netto hard)... Then we get to Yuuichirou talking with Meijin, Manabe, Kifune, Netto, and Enzan inside the conference room, basically overviewing the cyber plants. The Professor comes on screen and reveals his diabolical plan (the Super Cyber Beast is shown and mentioned), and then he sends tons of cyber plants to attack everyone in the room.

Netto and Enzan plug-in to battle a bunch of beastisized viruses. A cyber plant wraps around Manabe and starts to choke her, but Meijin smashes it with a chair and deletes it, freeing her. Blues and Netto kick butt so much that the cyber plants fade away.

But peace doesn't last long when beastisized viruses start attacking the Sci-Labs. We see Zero in the cyber network floating in front of a huge machine holding sleeping viruses in pods. He uses his powers to turn the viruses into beastisized versions. Meanwhile, Manabe drives Enzan and Netto to the viruses, but they all pounce the limo. The three escape and Enzan calls for a D-Area so he can Cross Fuse and fight the viruses while Netto runs inside to stop Zero.

Netto plugs in and Rockman immediately starts blasting Zero. This then ensues a pretty nifty fight against Zero until he hits Rockman with a huge attack, burying him under debris. Netto then remembers the Beast chips that Yuuichirou gave him last episode, so he slots in the Grega one and Rockman submerges from the rubble.

Zero and Grega Rockman fight real nicely, and Rockman starts to get the upper-hand. It looks grim for Zero, but the Professor tells him to escape again in the nick of time. Netto and Enzan stand outside the wreckage from the viruses (which are now gone) while Yuuichirou and Kifune say something, presumably about the impending doom that Zero and the Professor offer.

Overall, another good episode that never let up on the action. 10 minute episodes is exactly what EXE needed.

This episode was awsome, i couldn't tell that it was a different art director. The action was okay in the beginning, but near the end, it really heated up. Beast+ is starting to spark my interest in EXE again. I hope they have another series after this. It's just amazing now. lol. *whoot!* LONG LIVE ROCKMAN.EXE! Razz

I really liked this episode, it seems that 10 minutes arent that bad, it makes the anime more fast pacced and makes it total action and drama.
I loved how Netto can use the Beast Chips as when he wants, that means we will se even more Juuka-Rockman that the original Beast had.
And it seems it lost a little bit of chibiness this episode (must love the chibiness :3), and of course things were redrawn like Netto's plug in scene and a new Heishin sequence for Greiga Rockman.
The episode was good and i hope Beast+ continues like this.

Wow. Those virus pods are so ripped off of the Matrix.

Out of curiosity, has anyone yet figured out why those vine/tentacle things materialize in the real world?

Edit: Dang, someone made a mention of the Matrix before me.

I always dreamed that a Greiga Rock VS Zero would be shown, and let me express myself by saying this. Ahem. Whoo-hoo!!!

It seems with Rock's transformation, him and Zero are evenly matched in this episode. It would have been more exciting if it weren't for those darn interruptions. What I want to know is, what is the cause of the Zero Virus in this series? Would the virus be any comparison to the games?

Whoa.. o.o
I think this one wins the award for finest Rockman.EXE animation.. at least since a while.
Someone pointed that earlier, but the style seems to be more like it what it was, rather than SD-ish =P

Ok, Juuka Griega has too much spotlight, even though I prefer this one over Falzer. But it would be nice to see what Juuka Falzer's abilities are, in actual combat, since Juuka Falzer always seems to do one-hit kills. XD

I haven't seen the new episode yet but I do know that jsut because Greiga Rock was used doesn't mean Zero has a connection to Greiga, especially after the two chips were shown in the first episode of Beast +, though based on Beast it would make sense for Zero to be associated with Greiga that might not be the case.

This episode ROCKS! Greiga Rockman vs Zero was easily one of the coolest fight scenes so far. I laughed at the very obvious rip off of The Matrix. It seems the series is actually improving because of it being so fast paced. It is only a matter of time before people start making some bad stuff inspired by Manabe being wrapped up.

i only saw zero make Greiga beast virusses (could be wrong), so he might only have some of Greiga's data inside of him.

I loved the animation this time around along with Netto's new chibified-look. I also liked how they tied in the villians to the events of beast and the action was well paced throughout. The episode was quite enjoyable; ten minutes well spent I think.

Man, I love the 'new animation'.. The virus container/ machine made me think of the Matrix as well. :\ I wonder why the Super Cyber Beast was already shown now, it would've been more of a suprise to see him in the next episodes. "Jolly, I recall that we have some unfinished business, Mr. Rockman"

Zero has his own Navi Emblem, not a Gregor or Parrotzar-sign. He's a 'regular Navi'.

Heh, my Japanese is practically non-existant. What is the Professor talking about when the Super Cyber Beast is shown in relation to Zero? Also... I think it would be weird if they put these two episodes into one... Especially since there are two Rockman Victory parts... you know... At the end of every EXE episode they had this part where there's a victorious theme and Rockman or someone else saves the day. It seems a bit weird to have two of those parts... Oh well, just my opinion.

My two thoughts:

1. The Juuka theme has been remixed, and is now even cooler sounding. I'm quite impressed by who does the soundtracks to series.

2. Finally ditching the tired, worn out CF Henshins in favour of the extremely cool and nicely animated Juuka Rockman Henshin was a wise idea. Also it has a nice little tie in to the games henshin, with the pillar aura at the end. I was very pleased with this animation.

Final thought: I like the fact that the cast seem to be constantly in the dark as to what's going on. It's a refreshing change of pace to previous seasons, let's hope it keeps up!

Actually, unless I'm mistaken, isn't Zero a Virus?

In Transmission, [spoil:22740df12f]he was a virus capable of creating and controlling other virii, and was able to infect Navis. Over time, he grew and 'evolved' a 'soul', becoming like a Navi. But it wasn't until Hikari remodeled him that he actually became a Navi, and even then he was still able to control virii.[/spoil:22740df12f]

I must agree. It's nice to have the anime finally going at a decent pace. No more pointless, 15 minute long camping/bathing/eating/baking/etc. subplots.

Well, fine, a virus emblem then, in that case. This image shows it (stolen from the episode 1 discussion topic), on the side of his head. It's probably some sort of ultra-stylized Z. Still, we don't know what Zero is, for all we know, the 'Zero virus' is actually made from green Metools that love to eat tomatoes and Zero is, in fact, Forte in disguise. :P

Uh...did Zero go from:

Virus --> Navi that could spread the Zero Virus --> Navi that had no virus in him.

Yuu never turned Zero into a navi, he was already one that evolved from a virus, Yuu sealed the virus function because he had Zero's "blueprints". So that is a navi mark.
