Some of the things that I can say about...
Rockman EXE Anime [Philippines Version]
The station who provided Rockman EXE Anime (Philippine Version), GMA-7 who proclaims itself that they are the No.1 in Philippine television actually suck when they are showing Rockman.EXE...
They suck due to the following:
They haven't featured Rockman.EXE in their site (www.igma.tv)
In original EXE anime, the characters don't mention "attack mode" when inserting battle chips (as mentioned by NumberGirl in PMing me)
Were their mechanical sounds in original EXE anime? Here, they do and actually, they're not robots all right!? They're Net Navis!
GMA-7 is getting nuts this time!
The solution:
Have ABS-CBN & HERO channel (under ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation) gain the right to air Rockman.EXE (EXE to Beast Plus) in two channels...ABS-CBN and HERO.
Or have Animax Philippines air it instead (but the risk is this, only SKY Cable Gold and Platinum subscribers can view this on Animax, poor masses) _________________ Rockman.EXE Level-Up! coming soon! Work in progress to be exact! |

I remind you that BASHING of any of the dubs is not allowed in this forum. Please read the rules more carefuly next time before posting.
You are free to discuss the downsides/differences of the dubbing in phillipines. But, please discuss things maturely and refrain from bashing either the TV station nor the dub. You can point out and discuss things you dislike about the dub without bashing. _________________ Hecha en MÉXICO - Avatar by Me.

Netto does in the first few episodes, but they dropped it in the second season or Axess or something. "Battle Chip Attack Mode: Sword, Slot-in" from what I remember of WPP's sub.
Could you give an example of what kind of mechanical sounds? Like.. All the time when someone moves? Or only during fights? _________________ Make a random avatar/ banner. | Atomic Fire's oekaki board. |

It happens when the scene is in real-world terms (as in Rockman talking to Netto from inside the PET)
Sometimes, though, they forget to turn it off when the scene moves to cyber-world, like when there's a lot of real-world -> cyber-world -> real-world scene shifts. Later episodes don't turn the fx off altogether.
Personally I prefer they keep it that way. Kinda serves as a reminder that the navis "aren't alive". The sfx when they walk are robotic, anyway (reminiscient of ye olde Transformers).
My bone to pick: Enzan's voice was done by the talent that did Fujiko Mine in the local Lupin III dub. I was expecting it to be the talent that did Tao Ren's voice, since the group in charge was the one that dubbed Shaman King. But, hey! They haven't let me down with their ad libs so far. I'm just thankful they aired EXE here at all.
Oh, and thanks for beating me on that post, Plantman. _________________ TGS 2007:MISSED! T_T |

Just a translation preference, actually. When WPP came onboard the subbing project, the "attack mode" part of the phrase was dropped, but Netto's still saying the same phrase he said back then; "kougeki (y)o battle chip, Sword, slot-in", etc. _________________ One of the three EXE sisters! *Armstrong-style pose*

Okay, I'm now satisfied with Enzan's voice talent - he sounds less like a girl now and more like Enzan's unbearable self
The W3 talents, except Dr. Wily's, are perfect.
Making Fireman sound like a comic relief character more than like a villain's not entirely to my taste, but not entirely unwelcome, either.
N1's almost over. Can't wait for Forte!!! ^_^ _________________ TGS 2007:MISSED! T_T |
