What makes a good game?

I'd say Gameplay first, then add the rest of the stuff into the games.

I know a game that has amazing gameplay and graphics, too.

God of War(PS2)

Probably one of the best games ever created and looks damn good with it.

Let's see here:

(rated with zero to five stars, to see how neccessary something is to a game)

Graphics (*1/2): Not very neccessary. Of course, you don't want things so ugly that you can't tell what they are or that they cause eyesores.

Audio (***): Annoying tunes, needless to say, are annoying. Also, some games have such cool music you might consider a soundtrack for it.

Controls (*****): Very, very important. Bad controls seriously mar some games, be it sluggish, awkward, etc..

Challenge (****): Some games can be either a joke or a real pain to beat.

Originality (***1/2): Original games hold your interest longer, and you won't find some elements in some of these games in other games.

Replay Value (***1/2): Cool secrets, challenges or different endings in any one game will have you playing it longer.

Humor (*): Intentional or not, humor is still a nice touch to some games but not required at all...although sometimes a game's only saving grace!
