|
|
Starting this July, Rockman fans around the globe will be able to watch the english version of Megaman NT Warrior. This is all thanks to Cartoon Network and Viz, who have teamed up in this venture. Their new internet broadcasting lineup is called "Toonami Jetstream". Debuting on July 17th, they will upload full episodes of various animation series for viewers to stream online with their broadband connection.
Among the lineup is of course, Megaman NT Warrior. There is no listing as of yet as to which episodes will be made available, so we'll have to update you later on that. For now though, this is a good sign that the NT Warrior series is still kicking and hasn't been forgotten by the higher-ups.

Will this be restricted to USA only, like Adult Swim's online episodes? _________________

This is certainly a promising turn of events...to be able to stream the video sounds like a lovely thing.
I do wonder, though, if this is isolated or will have some bearing on whether Stream eventually hits our television sets... _________________ Today, these three players are after Big Bucks! This should be good. Being online, I'll be able to watch Megaman again. But, being free, the ads will be most likely be numerous... _________________

If Dub Stream is 'streamed' (gomen, couldn't resist) I won't have to worry about missing an episode anymore! Yes! I'll see how this turns out, but I'll probably be bombarded by ads... scary stuff. _________________ ' I don't care if the buzz isn't real- I can roleplay being drunk!'

A proxy'll (probably) get around that. If it will be 'region locked', I don't really see why there couldn't be a topic here that explains people on how to use one. I personally don't think that this will happen, however. Cartoon Network currently also has full-length episodes on their site of Transformers and other series, and I can access them perfectly fine, if you disregard the you-need-to-update-Flash-player. _________________ Make a random avatar/ banner. | Atomic Fire's oekaki board. |

That's great. Hopefully they'll air some of the EXE dub episodes I've missed. XD;
I'm really looking forward to Stream. @_@ I hope they don't doctor it too much, though. |

According to Mediaweek the Channel replacing WB called "The CW" has revealed it's Fall 2006 Schedule, notable missing Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh! which have been axed from the schedule due to falling ratings and a move by the channel to bring in more Warner Bros. created Cartoons. Currently unknown is what station will pick up the 9th season of Pokemon, currently airing in Japan, which is being dubbed by Pokemon USA. The show has not been cancelled, it's just moving channel.
(From Serebii.net)
That'd explain it. Who knows, if the episodes are going to be on the net instead of being broadcasted on TV, maybe this could mean the episodes will be edited even less (if at all) than AXESS. |

This is certainly interesting. I certainly look forward to both episodes of NT WArrior and Samurai Jack. I wonder, though if IGPX's second season will be on Jetstream and regular Toonami? _________________

"Jetstream" -> Stream -> Streaming media -> No (unless you go through the hassle of manually recording what's going on on your screen and copy the sound) Cartoon Network already has cartoons and anime on the net, and they're all Flash based. Ryouko also said in the first post that it would be streamed.

Sorry, I have no clue what "streamed" means. And what do you mean that the episodes are already on the net. _________________

CN already has some cartoons up. Basically, by streaming, it's like YouTube. (I think?) You don't download it to your computer's hard drive, but meanwhile you watch it from the internet with Flash Player. This is possibly to ensure that nobody just leech from the server and then sell them illegally.
I am a bit on the questioning side of the cost and the quality. From what I've seen so far, Flash Players usually don't give out good qualities that are as good as TV channels or AVIs. And since CN is a paid channel (cable, etc.) I really doubt they will have this up for free. NT Warrior is asided, however, as its original channel was KidsWB, which is free.
*hopes that quality won't be like that of YouTube's various videos*
EDIT: whee, they have Zatch Bell as Toonami's lineup! _________________

Video/audio that is being transmitted while you are watching the show. For example, you could say that TV and radio are 'streaming media', but books and CDs are not. (the content is given to you all at once, you don't get a page 4 of a book when you're done reading 3)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Streaming
http://www.google.com/search?q=define%3Astreaming
I never said that there were NT Warrior episodes up. ._.
Synchro-Kun, the quality will probably be very bad. (Think the average LQ episode) They'll probably raise money with ads, possibly (hope not) with ads between the episodes. (Or, they could decide to chop up episodes, and put commercials in between) _________________ Make a random avatar/ banner. | Atomic Fire's oekaki board. |

I don't think it'll be any different from the AS Fix.
Rik, I didn't mean to ask how would I access the site if I'm not living there, I just wanted to know that so I'd know if I had to use a proxy to access it. AS Fix is apparently the only CN stream service restricted to the USA. _________________
