How do you do? I am a newcomer here.
Nice to see you, everyone.

Though I checked only 'EXE' section, I found some mistakes and old information on 'Voice Cast' page.

When I corrected or added newer information, I attached asterisk(*) in front of the item on the list.
All voice cast's and character's names were written in the order; [family name] [first name].
Especially, when I corrected names, I wrote a comment on each cast.

Wow. XD That's a lot of voice actors. But I noticed one thing: Meijin isn't his first name?! O_o That's wierd...Maybe it's just a play on the word?

I believe Meijin is the character's actual name or nickname, since his looks are modeled after Capcom staff member Masakazu "Meijin" Eguchi, Meijin being the staff member's nickname.

And I'm also pretty sure "meijin" means an expert, or one who is known for his/her skill.

Yes. I think that "Meijin" is the character's nickname.

In Japan, we sometimes call someone by his/her position.

Please let me explain.

Surely the characters call him (Eguchi-)Meijin(-san), but it is only a common name for him.
As I said above, the word meijin means a position (or a title).
It can be an honorific.
No one has Meijin as a given name in Japan.

Netto often calls him Meijin-san.
In this case, 'Meijin' is used as if it were a part of his full name, but 'Meijin' is an honorific, and '-san' is too.
It might seem very strange to you, but it is not very strange to the Japanese, because we call someone his/her position name.

Meijin in the anime is a copy of the real meijin, Eguchi Masakazu.
I don't know whether he said his given name in the anime.
Meijin in the anime must have a given name.
I believe that it is also Masakazu.

From those reason, I wrote his name as Eguchi-meijin.
In this case, '-meijin' is an honorific.

It's a joke >>. I'll bet my hat thathis name is actually Meijin, it's not a title. Just like how Netto is how "Net" is pronounced in Japan, but his name isn't Net. I realize it might be confusing seeing as how Meijin means "Brilliant Man", But because it means brilliant man, they decided to name him that as sort of a joke. And since when have Anime have to follow rules?

Maybe I don't understand enough what you said, but I agree that Anime does not have to follow such rules.

The most important point of my opinion is that "Meijin" is his common name, not his real first name.
If you know it and then you name and call him "Meijin Eguchi", it is not a problem.

I thought that you might misunderstand that his real name is Meijin Eguchi.
However you seem to know that his real name is Eguchi Masakazu.
It would be my misunderstanding.

I have never seen any proof of his name being Eguchi Masakazu. Unless you want to say "Meijin is based off Masakazu "Meijin" Eguchi, so therefore Meijin's name is a nickname, so his real name is Masakazu". Unless Capcom says Meijin's name is Masakazu, it is nothing more than a theory. And until they do, his name is officaly Meijin

This is what I think it means. The worker dresses up like Meijin for an event called the Net Battle Tour as a gimmick. I dressed up as Inuyasha last year...doesn't make me him.

His name is Meijin, as a joke. Think all you want, but until Capcom, the Capcom, not a fansite, says "Meijin is an alias, and his real name is _____" This is a theory.

If it's from a sourcebook, then it can be considered as fact.

Of course if it's Eguchi-meijin, his saying ...roughly translated "no need for -san" would make sense. He's already being called an honorific... no need for another.

Anyways, until you both show some real evidence, sourcebook or site, I think both of you are wrong, so quit arguing. D:

This discussion started when I wrote Meijin's name as "Eguchi-meijin" on the voice cast list.
I found that his character name is written as "Meijin Eguchi" on the voice cast list of this site, and I thought that some of you think Meijin of his real first name.
As I said above, in my opinion, Meijin is not his real first name but his alias.
I believe that Meijin in the anime is modeled after Eguchi Masakazu.
On the other hand, Eguchi Masakazu plays the role of Meijin in the anime.
But still there is no clear evidence of the first name of Meijin in the anime being Masakazu.

There is no necessity to change the description of his character name.
Just I wanted to tell you my opinion.

Anyway, the more I think about this, the more I am confused.
I must improve my English skills >_<
I will stop discussion about this, and I will post another voice cast information later.

The following is my opinion:
"Roshi" means an aged teacher or master, and it is used (but rarely) as an honorific in Japan.
It is a little bit strange for me to think Futen of his real name.
I think that it is the name as a monk.
In the anime, it is said that he can hear what wind says.
"Fu" means wind, and "ten" means the sky or heaven.
If you know the anime "Dragon Ball", you remember that there is Maten-roshi in the anime.
However, I know that there is no evidence to deny that "Roshi" is his name.
