Decent, but definately reminding me of the Seal of Orichalcos (what with the multiple levels and all). Omega X's abilities and use of navi's souls is interesting and all, but I would have liked to see Rockman using less of the broken BN 2-3 program advances, and more skills. I wouldn't go so far as to label it filler (as it did advance the story, and was fairly entertaining to read), but it did draw a little close. Though it advanced the plot, the only differences at the end of the chapter were the damage on both combatants, and Rockman's confidence.
Good chapter, nonetheless! _________________

CHAPTER 3-81
Empyrean
“Welcome to the highest level of Heaven.”
As the words left Omega X’s mouth, the entire sanctuary seemed to shake. Down below, Lumine blasted back a possessed SwallowMan and looked up toward the ceiling.
“I don’t like the looks of this,” Noah said grimly as he hugged his plushie tightly.
* * *
Chaud had just made it back into the city when the rumbling began. A few kilometers away, Sean emerged from the great Shadowy Plains and nearly lost his balance when the ground started shaking.
“What’s going on?” he wondered aloud.
At the gate to the great Burning Plains, Laika nearly dropped the unconscious Nicol but he managed to keep him on his shoulders despite the sudden tremors. Over at the entrance to the great Freezing Plains, Maylu had to grab onto an old signpost to keep herself on her feet.
* * *
The transparent dome shattered and strong winds blew across the sanctuary. MegaMan found himself throwing his body against the floor to brace against the sudden gust. Omega X slowly rose up into the air and began to shine even brighter. His legs became infused with his torso and transformed into a single conical form. His body armor changed into a simple white crest over his chest with a red gem embedded into the center and two points jutting out to the sides in front of his shoulders, which had morphed and ended in a short pair of pikes not far from the body. A pair of disembodied arms covered in blue armor appeared just below them and large white claws sprouted out from them. Omega X’s helmet had reverted back to its original form and the Navi’s eyes snapped open as a shining halo appeared on his back, which also sprouted six shimmering white angel wings.
“This is where it will end, MegaMan,” Omega X’s voice echoed as the clouds dispersed and a blinding white light shone down from the heavens while bright blazing flames rose up from the endless abyss below.
Not looking good, MegaMan thought to himself as he looked up as the seraphic figure floating above him.
“It looks like you’ll get to face me in my ultimate form, after all,” Omega X continued, his mouth unmoving like a mask. His voice seemed to come from the surrounding environment instead. There was as flash of light and the completed six-winged Crest of Arcadia appeared on his chest.
“What’s going to happen now?” asked MegaMan.
“Once I destroy you, the light of the Crest of Arcadia will spread across the world and Neo Arcadia will again reign supreme.”
“So you’re doing this all because you’re upset over one incident that happened years ago?”
“Well when you word it like that, of course it’s going to seem petty,” Saiba interjected, “Omega X, do what you have to do.”
“Affirmative.” Omega X’s arms levitated over his head a bright flash of light erupted from his body.
* * *
“Screen Divide!” R Colonel swung his sword and unleashed a zigzagging energy column that broke through an entire line of Pantheon Hunters and Pantheon Guardians, “Colonel Cannon!” His blade was quickly replaced by a large cannon and he fired up into the air, blasting apart a fleet of Pantheon Fliers. As he switched back to his sword, his enemies suddenly came to a stop and turned their gaze upward. Curious, R Colonel copied their actions and looked toward the sky. An unnatural white light was shining across the great blue and onto the ground. The Pantheons all seemed to be affected by it and the Netopian army colonel didn’t like it one bit.
* * *
R GyroMan was busy fighting off a pair of Pantheon Aces when they stopped and also looked up at the sky.
“Charlie, this is our chance to attack them!” GyroMan exclaimed.
“Let’s do it then,” Charlie agreed, “Tornado Arm!” He morphed his hands into a pair of turbines and blew two whirlwinds at the Pantheon Aces. The one-eyed Navis suddenly split apart and the attack passed between them. They flew around behind their opponent and blasted him in the back. On the ground below him, R MagnetMan managed to catch a glimpse of the back attack.
“Charlie!” She turned back to the Pantheon Hunters she was fighting and held out her hand, “Spreader Battlechip!” She obtained a spread gun and fired a blast of energy that scattered into multiple shots and rained down on her enemies, destroying them upon hitting their eyes. She then turned her attention back to R GyroMan, who was now falling from the attack on him and activated a Binder3 chip. A Felony virus appeared under the flying Cross Fused NetNavi and cushioned his fall.
“Thank you, Tesla,” R GyroMan thanked.
“Don’t mention it,” replied R MagnetMan.
“I owe you one,” R GyroMan continued.
“I’m serious,” interrupted R MagnetMan, “Don’t mention it. I don’t want to hear it.” R GyroMan looked down, but then suddenly sprang back up.
“Look out!” He grabbed R MagnetMan and tackled her out of the way as three maces came flying toward her from a trio of Pantheon Hammers, “Gyro Cutter!” R GyroMan threw his propeller and it arced around and sliced apart all three Navis.
* * *
“Napalm Bomb!” R NapalmMan aimed his cannons toward the sky and fired multiple missiles at the approaching battalion of Pantheon Warriors. Four Pantheon Hoppers leapt onto the walls of the buildings surrounding the street and made their way toward their enemy. Once they were within range, they leapt off and lunged toward him. R NapalmMan ceased firing and looked up in time to see them coming toward him and cried out.
“Tomahawk Air Raid!” A tomahawk suddenly flew in and sliced off the heads of all four Pantheon Hoppers. As they fell to the ground, the projectile that had decapitated them returned to R TomahawkMan.
“That’s four more for me!” the Native Netopian teen shouted.
“Cutting it a little close there, aren’t you?” asked R NapalmMan.
“Hey, at least I actually found time to take out those four from your side!” A loud crash caused the two Cross Fused NetBattlers to return their attention to the task at hand. They stood back-to-back as more Pantheons came at them from both ends of the street. Several Pantheon Launchers positioned on top of the buildings aimed their energy cannons downward and proceeded to charge them up.
“We’re in a real bind here,” R TomahawkMan observed.
“Yeah,” agreed R NapalmMan.
“Bunshin no Jutsu!” Two flashes of light shot past the Pantheon battalions and took them out from behind while a third sliced apart the Pantheon Launchers from overhead. When the entire street was cleared, the three flashes came together and formed into R ShadowMan.
“You two are always diving into things,” he chided.
“We could have handled it,” R TomahawkMan said casually.
“No, you couldn’t.” There was a loud explosion and all three comrades turned to see a giant tank-like virus approaching them. Atop it was an entire regiment of Pantheon Launchers and Pantheon Zombies.
“I’ve got this one!” R ShadowMan leapt toward the tank and drew his swords. He landed next to the treads and started jumping up the side, slicing at the one-eyed Navis as they tried to attack him. He made his way to the cannon of the tank and stuffed a TimeBomb3 inside the barrel. It counted down from three and exploded immediately on zero. At that exact moment, R ShadowMan jumped up and escaped the explosion while the Pantheons were all destroyed. He landed back in front of his teammates and they stood in silence.
“That still only counts as one!” shouted R TomahawkMan.
* * *
R Medi and R KnightMan stood alongside one another fighting off Saiba’s army. The number of troops was endless and they only seemed to grow with each NetNavi they took down.
“They’re closing it!” exclaimed R Medi.
“Get down!” commanded R KnightMan. R Medi complied and hugged herself against the ground near her partner.
“Royal Wrecking Ball!” R KnightMan raised her mace over her head and swung it around. All the Pantheons were immediately struck by the spiked ball as they came within range. That was until a group of Pantheon Hammers came in swinging their own maces. Two of their chains caught R KnightMan’s and rendered her weapon useless. The others closed in and smashed their maces against her, sending her flying back.
“Princess Pride!” R Medi got up and faced the Pantheon Hammers, “Medi Capsule!” She threw a handful of pills and they exploded all over the Cyclopic Navis. Those she successfully hit in the eyes were erased. When they were gone, she sighed with relief. Suddenly, she cried out in pain as a Pantheon Guardian snuck up behind her and stabbed its electrified prong against her back.
“Boomer Battlechip!” R KnightMan’s hand transformed into a boomerang launcher and she threw the weapon at the Navi that had attacked her partner. The boomerang sliced through it and knocked it away before striking the eye. Once she was free, R Medi got back up and held out her hands.
“Healing Ball!” She formed two white balls of energy in her hands and launched them. They struck a pair of Pantheon Aces and stole their health. One of the balls returned to R Medi and the other went to R KnightMan. They deposited the energy they had stolen into the ladies and vanished. Rejuvenated, they got back up and continued fighting.
* * *
“It looks like this light is making these things stronger,” R NeedleMan noted as she stabbed a row of Pantheon Warriors in their eyes. She backflipped away as a Pantheon Zombie made a grab for her and several Pantheon Hoppers leapt after her.
“Needle Cannon!” Still in the air, she fired several needles into the green Navis’ eyes and deleted them. Once she landed, she jumped back as a Pantheon Launcher fired its cannon at her.
“Boomer Battlechip, triple download!” Her hands fused into a launcher loaded with multiple boomerangs and she pointed it forward, “PitRang!” She fired and the projectiles shot all over the area and stabbed out countless Pantheons’ eyes.
* * *
In Neo Arcadia, Pantheons had also risen to fend off the spires from Sean, Chaud, Laika, and Maylu. All four of them had performed Cross Fusion and were fighting their way to get to the tower.
“Triple StepSword! Zeta-Step!” R ProtoMan teleported through the near-countless numbers of Pantheon Fliers and Pantheon Aces and slashed them as he passed.
“I don’t have time for all this!” Once his Program Advance expired, he launched a Sonic Boom from his Proto Sword and dove past the rest of the Pantheons with his Proto Shield as protection.
* * *
“Out of my way!” shouted R Axl. He had activated the Master Transformation Program Advance and the copies of his transformations were clearing a path for him among the Pantheon Zombies and Pantheon Hunters. One would occasionally try to stop him, but his auto-lock targeting allowed him to make quick work of them as he fired his pistols.
* * *
Fighting with Nicol on his shoulders wasn’t easy for R SearchMan as it lessened his mobility. To make matters worse, it was fighting Pantheon Hammers, Launchers, and Warriors, all heavy weaponry enemies. At his current rate, he knew he couldn’t get past them all to the tower and protect the unconscious cadet at the same time. He quickly jumped away as a Pantheon Warrior swung its fist at him and he ran off into a building. He looked around for any signs of enemies and when he found none, he placed Nicol down on the floor and pushed an old table over him.
“You should be safe here for now,” he whispered before jumping back outside through a window and blasting the Pantheons’ eyes. Now free of his load, he could fight to his best abilities. He stopped to reload his gun and resumed.
* * *
“Heart Slash!” R Roll unleashed a rain of pink hearts on the army of Pantheon Guardians and blasted them into oblivion. A noise alerted her attention upward and she saw several Pantheon Hoppers coming down on her from above.
“Three Spreader Battlechips! Hyper Burst!” The redhead pointed her burst cannon upward and blasted the frog-like warrior into oblivion. She then turned back to the other Pantheons around her and resumed her fight.
* * *
“Your friends may be holding off my army of Pantheons, but it won’t be long before they fall,” Omega X said boastfully, “What my troops lack in various attributes, they make up for in numbers. All of them are simply mindless puppets that can be sacrificed to attain our goal.”
“We’re not going to let that happen!” shouted MegaMan.
“You don’t have a choice in the matter!” replied Omega X, “You’re powerless against me.”
“We’ll see about that!” And with that, Hub Style MegaMan leapt up at Omega X and fired several Hub Shots at him.
“White Halo!” A white ring formed in front of the seraphic Navi and shot toward his opponent. MegaMan was hit right away and he fell to the floor.
“I can’t move!” he exclaimed. Omega X brought his arms forward and opened his claws, revealing two barrels in his palms. White lasers shot out from them and bombarded his enemy.
“Barrier Battlechip in, download!” Lan slotted in a Barrier and his Navi powered it up into a Program Advance.
“Barrier500!” A pink dome surrounded him and blocked all the shots. As soon as he was able to move, MegaMan got up, with the Barrier500 still intact, and jumped into the air over his opponent’s head.
“Charged Hub Shot!”
“Light of the Sefirot!” Ten balls of light appeared around Omega X and joined together in the form of the Sefirot. The angelic NetNavi floated higher up and all ten balls of light launched a massive bombardment of holy light onto his foe. MegaMan screamed as they broke his Barrier500 and blasted him back. He quickly dug his fingers into the floor and stopped himself from going over the edge into the flaming abyss. He took in a deep breath and let it out slowly.
“That was close,” he whispered to himself. He moved to a safe distance from the ledge and looked up at Omega X.
“Take this, MegaMan. NeoVariable Battlechip in, download!” Lan armed MegaMan with a NeoVariable sword and watched as he ran toward his opponent.
“Super Sonic Boom!” He swung his blade and fired a golden Sonic Boom. Omega X brought his arms forward and blocked the wave. MegaMan quickly launched another Super Sonic Boom and struck one of his enemy’s wings.
“Holy Light!” Omega X raised his arms and fired more white lasers from his hands. MegaMan ducked and the first beam shot past his head. As another came down lower, he jumped up and it passed under him. He quickly dropped back down to avoid a third laser and leapt up again as a fourth shot toward him. The radiant Navi split his legs apart and another beam just narrowly missed his crotch.
“Super Sonic Boom!” Still in midair, MegaMan swung his NeoVariable sword and clipped his opponent’s left shoulder.
“White Halo!” Omega X created another ring of light and launched it at his foe. MegaMan fired several Super Sonic Booms at it, but nothing seemed to destroy or knock the paralyzing circlet away.
“Hold on, MegaMan!” Lan called to his Navi, “I’ve got just the thing. Guardian Battlechip in, download!” A Guardian statue materialized in front of MegaMan as he landed and the White Halo struck the surface. Immediately, the idol retaliated with its Punisher counterattack and struck Omega X with a powerful blast of lightning.
“That got him!” exclaimed MegaMan.
“I cannot be defeated so easily!” Omega X’s voice echoed.
“Looks like you already are!” MegaMan raised his NeoVariable sword and charged toward his opponent. He leapt into the air and sliced down on his chest.
“Purgatorial Flame!” Three massive pillars of fire suddenly burst up around Omega X and hit MegaMan with incredible force. The shimmering NetNavi was blasted back and he hit the floor smoking. When the flames subsided, Omega X fired a Holy Light at his opponent. MegaMan quickly rolled to the side, but his sword was destroyed by the laser. He sprang back onto his feet, but his opponent suddenly grabbed him in midair and brought him close to his face.
“Armed or not, you must realize,” Omega X said darkly, “you are doomed.”
“Oh I don’t think so,” MegaMan replied.
“Muramasa Battlechip in, download!” Lan slotted in the demonic sword and his NetNavi looked up beyond the heavens.
“Bodyguard!” Instantly, countless shuriken began to rain down on Omega X. They struck hard and left several marks in his armor and body. One shuriken penetrated the hand that held MegaMan and forced the seraphic Navi to release his hold. His opponent dropped down to the floor and landed safely. He pointed his buster upward and powered up.
“Charged Hub Shot!” There was a brilliant flash as he fired and struck his opponent’s underside. By this time, the Bodyguard had worn off, but it had done its job. Several wounds marked Omega X’s body and a few shuriken were stuck in him. MegaMan passed his thumb under his nose and smirked.
“Do you really believe that one attack was enough to bring me down?” demanded Omega X. He shook himself and the remaining shuriken fell out from his body and clattered to the floor. He glared down at his enemy and called on another Light of the Sefirot. MegaMan jumped around the battlefield and evaded the attack.
“White Halo Storm!” Several rings of white light appeared around Omega X and he launched them at once. His enemy dashed back and forth between them as they came and successfully managed to dodge them all, though not without difficulty.
“Looks like you guys are getting used to Omega X’s attack patterns,” Saiba commented, “Looks like it’s time for a change of strategy. Omega X, do whatever you need to win and don’t worry about overkill.”
“It will be my pleasure, Saiba.” Omega X raised his arms and a white cross appeared behind his opponent. He launched one of his hands forward and shoved MegaMan right against it.
“What the? What’s going on?!” the radiant green Navi exclaimed.
“Something I should have done when this battle first started.” Omega X narrowed his eyes and pulled back. MegaMan screamed out loud as large nails impaled his hands and feet and bound him to the cross.
“And now to seal you to the cross permanently! Lance of Longinus!” A large spear appeared as Omega X pulled back his hand and he thrust it deep into his opponent’s chest. MegaMan screamed even louder and coughed up a mouthful of blood.
“MegaMan!” Lan looked at his PET display in horror as his Navi suffered beyond his comprehension, “Hang on! I’ll get you out of there!”
“Don’t waste your chips trying,” Saiba called from across the chamber, “As long as MegaMan remains nailed to that cross, no Battlechips can reach him. He’s helpless!”
“No!”
“I’m going to enjoy every moment as I introduce you to a new level of suffering.” Omega X grabbed MegaMan’s head and started pelting his face with Holy Light lasers at point-blank range. Lan turned his eyes away, unable to bear seeing his Navi undergo such punishment. But he forced himself to watch as he tried to think of a way to help him. Sadly, nothing came.
“Light of the Sefirot!” Omega X pulled back and summoned his ten spheres of light. They lined themselves up in the same manner as they had before and unleashed their deadly rain onto the helpless MegaMan. The angelic Navi held out his arms and a pair of large swords appeared in his hands. One was a handheld version of the Transcendent Sword and the other was the Arcadian Saber. He grasped the hilts and flew toward his opponent. Once he stopped in front of him, he swung his weapons and slashed him countless times. Data began to flow out of the numerous wounds on MegaMan’s body, but there was nothing he could.
“If only everyone could see this,” Omega X chortled, “The world’s savior crucified and looking deletion straight in the eyes. I suppose I could be merciful and bring a quick end to this, but then there would be no pleasure in the task. I would much rather drag it out for as long as I can.”
“Bring it on…” MegaMan gasped as he looked at his foe with blood dripping from his mouth.
“I’d be happy to oblige.” Omega X took the Transcendent Sword and thrust it deep into MegaMan’s stomach, causing him to scream in agony once again. The tip shot out through his back and hit the cross. He then floated away and threw his Arcadian Saber down at him. The white sword split into ten copies of itself and each one slashed MegaMan as it passed before all ten blades impaled him at once. His body went limp and the radiant green vanished, reverting back to blue and the energy that shimmered and crackled throughout his body vanished.
“No!” Lan cried.
“So much for Hub Style,” Omega X sneered, “I’d love to prolong your death even longer, but you must be reaching your limit. I guess this is farewell then, MegaMan.” He hovered over to MegaMan and held out his arms as he powered up a pair of Holy Light lasers.
“MEGAMAN!” screamed Lan.
“Goodbye, MegaMan!”
Everything seemed to go in slow motion as Omega X fired the lasers. Lan shut his eyes tightly and turned away with tears streaming down his face as he screamed his brother’s name. Omega X’s laughter was in synch with Saiba’s as the beams emerged from his palms and made their way toward MegaMan, who hung from the cross unable to even look up.
An explosion followed and Lan’s heart finally broke. He dropped to his hands and knees and cried as MegaMan’s existence faded away.
“Giving up so easily?” a familiar voice called out to the brunet, “Come on, Lan. I thought you were stronger than that.” Lan’s head shot up and he looked behind him to see Chaud standing at the doorway into the chamber. He turned back toward his PET display and saw ProtoMan standing in front of MegaMan with his shield up.
“You’re really pathetic to have gotten beaten up so badly like this,” the silver-haired Navi muttered.
“This is none of your concern!” bellowed Omega X, “Be gone, ProtoMan!” He held out his arm and fired another Holy Light, but ProtoMan spun around and deflected it away with his sword. The angelic Navi growled and prepared another White Halo Storm, but his charge was interrupted when a green laser struck him in the back. He looked up to see a green satellite as it faded away.
“Not so fast,” SearchMan said emotionlessly. As Omega X turned toward him, Axl flew up from behind the evil seraphim and pelted him with countless shots from his Axl Gun.
“Feather Kunai!” Lumine came up as the redheaded Navi returned to the floor and threw six shining white feathers, which struck Omega X’s wings. The three Navis then pulled back and regrouped around MegaMan as Roll appeared alongside them. The pink Navi grasped the Lance of Longinus and pulled with all her might. The spear came free and ProtoMan swiftly removed the Transcendent Sword and nails. The cross vanished as MegaMan collapsed onto the ground. Roll knelt down beside him and used her recovery powers to heal his wounds. When he finally opened his eyes, everyone was overjoyed.
“MegaMan, you’re okay!” exclaimed Roll.
In the real world, Sean, Laika, and Maylu had joined up with Lan, Chaud, and Noah and the six of them now stood together facing Saiba.
“So you all defeated my crew and got past all that security,” the white-haired Neo Arcadian sneered.
“Saiba, no matter what you throw at us, you’ll never win!” Lan declared.
“Is that a fact?” Saiba snapped his fingers and separated himself from the others with a ray shield.
“This is between MegaMan and me alone!” Omega X bellowed, “Interlopers shall not be tolerated!”
“We stand together!” shouted Axl as he, ProtoMan, Roll, and SearchMan placed themselves between MegaMan and Omega X.
“Then die together! Descend Heartless Angel!” Before the seraphic NetNavi could unleash his attack, the five Navis were quickly logged out.
“What was that for?!” shouted Axl.
“You were in over your head,” Sean replied.
“Come on, Lan. You and MegaMan have to beat Omega X,” Maylu urged as he helped Lan up to his feet.
“But Hub Style didn’t work and Bass Cross was no better,” Lan replied dejectedly.
“For the love of God, Lan, you’re not Riku!” exclaimed Sean, “You can’t just use darkness to defeat your enemy.”
“Hey, if you’re finished yapping, I’d like to get back to business here!” Saiba shouted. Lan turned toward his friends and opened his mouth to say something when his words were cut off by a loud crash coming from downstairs.
“What was that?” Noah quickly ran out of the room and looked down the stairs. All he could make out in the darkness were several shining red dots swarming up the stairs, but he knew what they were.
“We’ve got Pantheons!” he called to the others.
“Lan, you keep battling Saiba,” said Chaud, “We’ll handle the Pantheons.”
“Alright,” Lan complied, “Be careful, everyone.”
“Let’s go, guys.” Sean signalled everyone to retreat into the stairwell and everyone started to leave while taking out their PETs and Synchro Chips.
“Please come back, Lan,” whispered Maylu. She gave the headbanded NetBattler a kiss for good luck and left with the others. With all of his companions now gone, Lan turned back to face Saiba.
“What a touching display,” commented Saiba, “It’s revolting, especially if you’re involved, Lan.”
“Shut it, Saiba! Let’s end this now!”
* * *
“What hope do you have of defeating me?” asked Omega X, “Hub Style failed and Bass Cross wouldn’t do any better for you. What can you possibly use against me?”
“I’m not sure, but we’re going to fight with everything we’ve got!” shouted MegaMan.
“Then die!” Omega X held out his arms and began to power up for a charged Holy Light attack.
“What should we do, Lan?” asked MegaMan, “Hub Style doesn’t work on this guy.”
“And the darkness of Bass Cross failed miserably,” was Lan’s reply, “But maybe that’s just it. Bass Cross deviates from our normal battle plan. We tried to invoke the power of darkness, but it failed. We have to fight with what we’re familiar with. We have to fight with the light!”
“But Omega X controls the light!” the blue Navi argued. A flash suddenly passed through his mind and his eyes widened as memories from the past came flooding back.
FLASHBACKS
MegaMan ran across the Undernet searching for Nebula’s forces. What he found instead was a boy with wild blond hair with a long crimson scarf wrapped around his neck. He stopped and opened his mouth.
“Are you…?”
* * *
“Here’s the Solar Sensor!” MegaMan held out hand and passed a device over to the blond boy. The yellow big-nosed sunflower that was hovering beside him floated forward closer to the blue NetNavi.
“Then let the purification begin!”
* * *
“It’s hot!” ShadeMan’s screams echoed across the Undernet as the Pile Driver hit him from both sides with powerful Solar Piles.
“Return to darkness ShadeMan!” MegaMan held out his buster and fired on the vampire to subdue him from repelling the beams of sunlight.
* * *
“Where am I?” MegaMan looked out of his PET screen and saw that he was in an unknown place. A shadow quickly covered the sunlight as a young boy bent down to pick him up and he began to call out to him.
"...n... Hello...? Can you hear me? ...an? Huh? Lan... Isn't it you, Lan?” He paused for a moment before he realized who it was, “You're... I don't believe it! Do you remember me?"
* * *
MegaMan once again laid his eyes upon the sunflower with the big nose, who in turn peered back at him through the PET screen.
“ShadeMan... A Darkloid, a man-made program that employs the power of darkness. But how could it be here in this doomsday world... And how can a program with no physical form function in our world? ...There's something behind all of this...”
* * *
"You don't know?” ShadeMan laughed as he began his explanation, “Even in this Doomsday world, you're just a NetNavi in a PET. But I... Yes... thanks to Dark Matter, I have gained physical form!"
* * *
MegaMan could only watch as a fierce battle ensued between the one who was carrying his PET and ShadeMan. After a grueling fight, the vampire NetNavi was finally subdued and sealed into a coffin.
* * *
ShadeMan screamed out as the Pile Driver burned into his body with four Solar Piles.
“CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGE!”
“Gwooooorgh!!” ShadeMan roared, “Once more... I...! ...Don't think... ...that I will disappear... ...in THIS world! And again... back... ...to the... ...the Cyberworld...!”
* * *
“Right, I'll be going then,” said MegaMan, “I should be able to get back to the Cyberworld using the Warphole ShadeMan made. I'm a bit worried about what's become of him now though..."
“Don't worry about it!” the scarf-wearing boy assured him, “It doesn't matter how many times he springs to life... We're all here in this world and you and Lan are there in your world to stop him. He doesn't stand a chance!” MegaMan thought about this for a moment and smiled.
“Yeah! You're right!” he exclaimed, “Okay then, see you later... Sometime, someplace!!”
“The Sun will rise tomorrow! See you again soon, MegaMan! Say hi to Lan for me!”
END FLASHBACKS
“The Sun will rise again tomorrow,” MegaMan repeated in a whisper. As he repeated it again, his icon flashed bright gold.
Why’s MegaMan spacing out at a time like this? wondered Lan.
“Hey MegaMan, you okay?” he asked.
“I finally understand now, Lan,” MegaMan answered, “To defeat our enemy, we must stay true to the light and fight with it, not against it.”
“What are you babbling about?” Omega X demanded, “I control the light!”
“There’s more than one form of light and I’m going to use the true light to take you down!”
“‘The true light’?” Omega X asked incredulously, “You must have received a few too many hits to your head from this battle.” Sunlight began to shine down on the sanctuary from above and bathed the blue Navi in its golden rays.
“THE SUN WILL RISE TOMORROW!” The emerald-eyed savior thrust his hand up into the air and his glove transformed into a silver gauntlet emblazoned with runes glowing as bright as the sun. A powerful beam of light shot up into the sky and m assive rays of sunlight shot back down and engulfed MegaMan.
“What’s going on?” demanded Omega X.
As to answer his question, a figure emerged from the sunlight. It was MegaMan, but he had undergone a miraculous transformation. His entire bodysuit was brown with golden-orange stripes running down the sides. His legs were encased in a pair of shining golden knee-high boots. A large red gem was set into each knee guard and the toes slanted upward with a darker golden stripe lining the soles and tops of each boot and running down the center of the shins. His gloves were infused with shining golden bracers covering the entire lengths of his forearms with guards extending over the backs of his hands, which were covered with black, with red gems embedded into the material. Darker golden stripes lined the cuffs of the bracers and ran along the outer sides of his forearms. Golden armor had covered his torso and his shoulders and the outline of a blazing sun surrounded his icon. Two green shoulder guards covered his shoulders and brown mouthguard with two dark gold stripes under the eyes covered the lower half of MegaMan’s face. His helmet was also shining gold and had been redesigned with four spikes jutting out the back and two crests on either side of his head, creating a resemblance to a lion’s main. A single horn stood up from the forehead flanked by a pair of red and white eye-like designs. A long crimson scarf was wrapped around his neck and flowed all the way down to his feet.
“Now Omega X, time for you to face the true light!”

OMG... Sol-Cross Rock? Wow, as random as FCR. I saw definate Evangelion references in that chapter (or sensed them. I mean the lance, and the cross. Just like Adam) as well as the obvious random Kingdom Hearts ref. The chapter was good and all, but Sol Cross? Random.
I guess I'll have to read on to find out how he suddenly got this power. _________________

Well, it looks like that you were able to answer my questions in more ways than one. I was able to read it and I must say that I'm impressed. Those scenes that you've put in this chapter actually helped a lot. Really. I mean, that was something that I didn't expect. I guess that I was able to help more than I thought. Either that or I'm just getting a big head about it. In either case, I'm sure that the readers would like it, but the decision is theirs alone. Well, later and by the way here's something that I think that you would like:
Maurice:(Turns to Sonic and Shadow) Are the two of you ready?
Sonic: As ready as I'll ever be!
Shadow: I can't believe that those two have actually got me to do this.
Maurice: Shadow, just get over it and do it. The sooner that we get this over with the better.
Shadow: (Sighs) Fine.
Maurice: Okay, on the count of three. 1.....2.....3!!
Maurice, Sonic, and Shadow: “TAIYOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!”

I'll admit, this chapter was active. There is no doubt about it. The first half of the chapter, especially, seemed to be rather compelling to read. It was almost as good as the ending sequence of one of the previous arcs...
Then there's the issue of Sol Cross Rock and the infinitude of plot holes it creates. You really could have figured out another way of introducing it other then just seemingly spouting things out at random...
Other than that, looks like the end is nigh. And then some sort of judgement will be passed on the success of this arc. Don't mess it up. _________________ Today, these three players are after Big Bucks! But they'll have to avoid the Whammy, as they play the most exciting game of their lives! Now you guys know why I went to pieces in the chan that time. *shakes head*
Still, this chapter is a huge improvement over the original beta. Considering the limitations of it being so late in the arc, and AMZ's burning desire to use Sol Cross (I suggested dropping it at one point, that didn't fly), I think this was about as good as it could have been. _________________

Sorry I haven't reviewed in such a long time, but I'll get back into it around the next chapter. I can see a lot of changes have been made and I look forward to reading through all of it. Also, it's great to see people willing to beta again after last time; it should really make this nice story better. _________________ Formerly known as LunarSun

I never put any KH references. And those were all religious references. In fact, the whole chapter was riddled with religious references. _________________

I may have been mistaken about Evangelion references, but that, I'm sure, is a Kingdom Hearts reference. And seeing as Evangelion is riddled with religious references, I guess it could be an easy mistake to make. _________________

Mugen.EXE: Yes, this is a Kingdom HEarts statement.
Sorry I haven't been reviewing lately as well. I was being a lazy bum again.
There has been a lot more improvements I see. Sol Cross was very, very random and unexpected. My mom was wondering why I had a face that clearly said "WTF?"
I look foward seeing your next chapter. _________________

Well, judging from the reviews that you've received, I'd say that things are starting to look up for you. I mean, the way that the people have given their honest opinions about this chapter would definitely help with the story. Seeing as this season would soon come to a close, I would like to see what in the world would you do for the last chapter. What you have in store for the last and possibly the final season of the fic. I hope that you get up the final chapter soon. Later and hope that you enjoy your vacation!

CHAPTER 3-82
The Great Battle of Light!
Massive rays of sunlight shot down and engulfed MegaMan.
“What have you just done?” Omega X demanded.
“I embraced the light and it infused me with its power,” MegaMan explained.
“But I control the light! The light is my power!”
“You only wield the light of the Crest of Arcadia! But I have embraced the true light – the light of the sun!”
“The sun?”
“That’s right, the sun.” A wind began to blow across the battlefield and MegaMan’s scarf began to flap as he looked up toward Omega X.
“I AM SOL CROSS MEGAMAN!”
* * *
“Sol Cross MegaMan?” Saiba raised an eyebrow as he looked at the shining golden being on his PET display.
“This is incredible,” Lan whispered to himself.
* * *
MegaMan raised his hand over his head before bringing it back down and pointing his finger at Omega X.
“Let’s end this now, Omega X. Once and for all.”
“My sentiments exactly.” Omega X brought his arms into attack position and opened his hands, “Bring it on.”
MegaMan took a step back and then charged forward. He leapt off the floor blinding speed and slammed his shoulder into Omega X, who cried out in surprise. He quickly pushed himself off his opponent and slammed his foot into his chin as he backflipped away. He gracefully landed back on the floor and his scarf settled behind him.
“Amazing!” MegaMan exclaimed as he stood up and looked at his hands, “This power is incredible! Lan, how are my stats looking?”
“Unbelievable!” answered Lan, “Everything is off the chart! Strength, agility, spirit, vitality, the works!”
Back on the battlefield, Omega X shook off the remaining effects of the surprise attack and glared down at his enemy.
“You were lucky to catch me with my guard down, but I can assure you it won’t happen again.”
“Just what I was hoping for.” MegaMan grinned behind his mouthguard and dashed again.
“Holy Light!” Omega X fired several white lasers from his hands, but his opponent dodged them with incredible agility. He turned and tried to immobilize him with a White Halo, but MegaMan shot right under him and pushed himself off the floor. He flew up behind the seraphic Navi and held out his right arm.
“Gun Del Sol!” His hand vanished as it was replaced by a Solar Gun. He took aim through the Sol Lens and fired a burst of sunlight into his opponent’s back. Omega X roared and turned around. He thrust one of his arms forward and slammed it into MegaMan. The golden-armored Navi quickly grabbed on with his free hand and pulled himself on top of his foe’s hand before firing more shots. Omega X shook him off and his opponent landed safely.
“White Halo Storm!” Several rings of light rained down on the field and MegaMan danced around to avoid getting hit. As he came to a stop, a large cross appeared behind him. He flipped over it and pulled it out from the floor before flinging it at Omega X, who knocked it away with his arm.
“You’ve suddenly become a lot more troublesome than before,” the seraphic NetNavi observed, “It looks like prolonging your defeat is no longer an option.”
“Sorry Omega X, but the one who’s going down is you.” He morphed his Gun Del Sol back into his hand and ran forward. Omega X sent one of his hands down to slam him, but he jumped up and it hit the ground. MegaMan landed on top of the arm, jumped up at his foe, and slammed his fist against his face. Omega X’s entire body shuddered from the impact as his shining opponent dropped back down to the floor. He turned back around and pounced again. This time, he grabbed onto his enemy’s shoulders and slammed him down against the ground. Omega X quickly brought one of his arms around behind MegaMan, grabbed his scarf, and pulled him away. As he got back up, he positioned his other arm in front of his enemy and fired a Holy Light straight into his chest.
“Perhaps you would like to withdraw that last statement?” Omega X fired more lasers and they all struck the same spot just under MegaMan’s icon. The golden-armored Navi winced as he tried to bear the pain and slowly looked up into his opponent’s eyes.
“Actually, I wouldn’t.”
“AreaGrab Battlechip in, download!” Lan’s chip took effect and MegaMan teleported out of Omega X’s grip.
“Gun Del Sol!” As he reappeared overhead, he summoned his weapon and fired several Solar Shots down at his enemy. Omega X swung upward at him, but MegaMan successfully dodged them all save for one punch, which he grabbed onto shortly after getting hit. He thrust himself down toward his foe and slammed his feet on top of his shoulders before leaping off, grabbing onto one of Omega X’s wings, and firing a Solar Spread. He quickly jumped off and landed back on the ground and looked up at his enemy.
“Impressive,” said Omega X, “but not amusing.”
“So what else have you got planned?” asked MegaMan.
“You’d be surprised. Ten Elements of the Sefirot!” Ten energy orbs materialized around Omega X and took on the shape of the Sefirot, each one marked with the symbol of one of the NetNavi combat types: Fire, Aqua, Elec, Wood, Sword, Breaking, Wind, Cursor, Stealth, and Obstacle. MegaMan switched weapons as Lan slotted in a WideBlade. First, the Fire Orb launched an ElementFlare, which he managed to dodge. Next, the Aqua Orb unleashed an IceWave3 followed by the Elec Orb using Lightning and the Wood Orb using Lance. MegaMan backflipped away from his enemy to avoid getting hit by the first two and sliced apart the bamboo spears as they came up. The Sword Orb then fire a Sonic Boom with the Breaking Orb launching a Cannonball. The scarf-bearing Navi flipped over the former and rolled to the side to avoid the latter. The Wind Orb used Twister, the Cursor Orb fired a MarkCannon3 shot, the Stealth Orb launched a shuriken, and the Obstacle Orb summoned a RockCube over MegaMan’s head.
“Prism Battlechip in, download!” Lan inserted a Prism chip into his PET and a large crystal appeared. MegaMan ducked behind it and the Twister, MarkCannon3 shot, and shuriken hit its smooth crystalline surface. As a result, all three attacks were reflected off its faces in every direction, destroying the RockCube and also hitting Omega X in the process.
“Thanks, Lan,” MegaMan called to his operator.
“Hey, we’re brothers. We watch each others’ backs,” Lan answered simply. MegaMan got up from his knees as the Prism vanished. He turned toward Omega X and brought up his WideBlade, which was now glowing as bright as his armor.
“Hey Lan, what’s up with my weapon?”
“Dunno.” Lan touched the Battlechips tab on his stats window and was surprised to find that the WideBlade’s power was increasing, “MegaMan, check this out! Your WideBlade is somehow getting stronger!”
“Stronger? But how?”
“I have no clue.”
As Lan pondered this, his eyes fell on the solar sensor attached to his PET. He looked around at Saiba’s black lights and came to the realization that the UV light they were generating was being picked up by the sensor and converted into a usable form of power via MegaMan’s Sol Cross. He checked the solar gauge in the corner of his PET display and saw that four bars were filled. Back inside the sanctuary, MegaMan pointed his sword at Omega X and stared straight into his eyes.
“Are you going to fight or just stand there?” the seraphic Navi asked.
“Don’t worry. You’ll get what’s coming to you.” A sudden gust of wind blew MegaMan’s scarf to the side and he leapt up at Omega X, who extended a pair of blades from his forearms and deflected his sword. He pulled himself up and swung out as he came back down. His enemy blocked with one arm blade and the two of them struggled against each other for a moment before MegaMan’s blade slid off and he fell to the ground. He performed a few flips in the air and landed before turning around and jumping back up. Omega X readied his blades and struck. Their swords collided and bounded right off one another. MegaMan swiftly countered, but his opponent parried his attack and lashed out with his other blade. He caught the smaller Navi in the ribs and left a gash in his side. MegaMan fell back down and landed on his back. His WideBlade vanished as his chest heaved while he tried to recapture his breath.
“MegaMan, are you okay?” asked Lan.
“Not sure,” was the reply, “He got me pretty good there.”
“Maybe this will give you some extra spark.” Lan held his PET closer to one of the UV lamps and the solar gauge instantly shot up to nine bars. His Navi’s body began to radiate with the light of the sun and the wound in his side vanished. With his wounds fully healed and his power levels increased dramatically, MegaMan morphed his hand into his Gun Del Sol and ran back toward Omega X.
“Again? You just keep coming back for more punishment.” Omega X retracted his blades and summoned another Ten Elements of the Sefirot. With lion-quick reflexes, MegaMan dodged all the attacks and pounced. He took aim and fired a Solar Shot, but this time it was much more powerful than before due to the extra power he was receiving. The blast hit its target and pushed Omega X back a short distance.
“Program Advance!” shouted Saiba, “Harpuia, Phantom, Fefnir, Leviathan Battlechips in, download!” Copies of the four guardians appeared before Omega X with their weapons draw and they attacked at once. Harpuia sliced through MegaMan with his lightsabers, Phantom slashed him with his shuriken, Fefnir slammed him headfirst into the ground with his pile bunker, and Leviathan stabbed him with her spear. Once the quartet had dealt their attacks, they vanished.
“Looks like this sun cross thing doesn’t make you as omnipotent as you’d hoped,” Saiba sneered.
“We never expect absolute power from anything,” was Lan’s response, “We fight with our own strength!” He slotted in a Recover300 and a V-Gun. A pink aura flashed around MegaMan and healed him before arming him with the V-Gun. He took aim and fired several bursts of energy at his foe.
“Seven Heavens!” Omega X spread out his wings and a ball of light appeared at the tip of each one while a seventh materialized between his hands. He thrust his arms forward and fired the balls at once. MegaMan carefully timed his jump and passed safely between the orbs as he flew toward his opponent, firing his weapon nonstop.
“Purgatorial Flame!” A massive pillar of fire erupted from under Omega X and knocked MegaMan away. The emerald-eyed NetNavi hit the floor and skidded along it to the edge. He quickly rolled back and forth to extinguish the flames that were burning his clothes and armor and quickly got back up.
“MegaMan, try these. IceCube and ColdPunch Battlechips in, download!” Lan armed his Navi with a large blue fist and summoned a block of ice in front of him. MegaMan lifted the obstacle into the air and tossed it up. He jumped after it and smashed his ColdPunch into it. The IceCube shattered and he sent the shards flying toward Omega X and cutting deep wounds into his body.
“Damn you, MegaMan!” the seraphic NetNavi cursed.
“If you think that’s bad, wait until you see this!” shouted MegaMan. Lan sent him DoubleJump and AirShoes and he leapt high into the air before a set of jets appeared under his boots and boosted him higher up.
“How about a little Gravity Drive?” Omega X summoned a white and gold GravityMan and absorbed his power into a gravity ray. Several waves of energy pulled down on MegaMan and he was sent plummeting back down toward his opponent.
“IronBody Battlechip in, download!” Lan slotted in his chip and watched as his Navi curled up into a ball and his body transformed into solid iron. The Gravity Drive continued to pull down on him and MegaMan shot down like a meteor and slammed down on top of Omega X. When the dust cleared, everyone could see him crouching on top of his enemy’s back.
“How’d you do that?” asked Saiba. Lan smirked and wiped his thumb across the side of his nose.
“Let’s just say I picked it up from one of my friends,” was his answer, “TankCannon3 Battlechip in, download!” MegaMan’s hand transformed into a massive cannon and he planted the barrel against his opponent’s back.
“I normally don’t strike my enemy when he’s down, but in this case I’m willing to make an exception.” He fired and the recoil blew him right off of his opponent. Omega X groaned as he pushed himself up off the floor and floated back up into the air. He dusted himself off and brought his arms back to his sides.
“His so-called ‘true light’ is proving to be more powerful than my own light,” he said to himself, “We must cut his energy supply. Saiba!”
“I already have an idea, Omega X,” Saiba assured his Navi. He walked over to a wall and smashed open a glass box before punching the button encased within it. Almost immediately, all the black lights shattered. Lan gasped as he watched the solar gauge drop down to zero.
“MegaMan, we’re cut off!” he exclaimed. Omega X chortled as he hovered over to MegaMan and overwhelmed him with several Holy Lights. The emerald-eyed Navi screamed as he was thrown back, but his opponent grabbed him by his scarf before he could go off the edge into the fiery abyss below.
“You’re not escaping me that easily,” Omega X said, “There’s only one way you’re going to die and that’s by my hands!” He brought his enemy closer and held him in front of his face.
* * *
Without sunlight, MegaMan can’t attain Sol Cross’ full power, thought Lan, I have to get outside somehow! Even if the sun isn’t shining, there’ll still be some light. And with that, he shut off his holoscreen and ran off.
“Where are you going?” demanded Saiba. He dropped the ray shield and ran after the Net Savior. Lan burst out of the chamber and looked around the area for anything. He spotted a door to the side and opened it, revealing a flight of stairs that proceeded upward. Without a moment’s hesitation, he slammed the door behind him and began ascending the steps, not knowing where they would lead but hoping that they would take him somewhere that could give him the edge he and MegaMan needed. Not long after he began his climb, he heard the door slam open as Saiba entered the stairwell and chased after him.
* * *
“Looks like your operator has abandoned you,” Omega X smirked.
“Lan and I never abandon each other,” MegaMan replied, “Just watch. He’s got something planned.”
“Not if Saiba gets to him before he can get to it.”
* * *
Lan glanced down for just a faction of a second to check up on his progress and saw that Saiba was still pursuing him. He had to try to buy himself some time. Looking around for anything he could use, all he could find was some loose rubble. He immediately picked up two pieces of debris and threw them down the stairs. Saiba saw them coming and quickly ran toward the wall to avoid them.
“Is that the best you’ve got?” he asked. Lan didn’t respond as he continued to run up. He grabbed a loose handrail and kept it in his hand as he resumed climbing. Finally, he arrived at some kind of hatch and stuck the pole under the frame. He pushed all of his weight down on it and the trapdoor popped open. He pushed it all the way open and tossed his weapon outside before climbing up after it. He picked up the handrail and ran away from the exit. He looked up and saw dark clouds covering the sky.
“This should do for now.” Lan reactivated his holoscreen and saw the solar gauge had two bars filled, “Better than nothing.” A noise alerted him toward the hatch and he saw Saiba climbing out with a quarterstaff strapped to his back. He gritted his teeth and held up his handrail.
“You’ve really caused a lot of trouble, Lan,” said Saiba as he grabbed his quarterstaff and tossed the harness aside.
“I won’t let you carry out your plans,” was Lan’s response.
“You’re not one to decide that, Lan. Soon, Neo Arcadia will be the one true world power.”
“If you can get away with it.”
“Don’t worry. I plan to.” And with that, Saiba held his staff in both hands and charged. He jumped into the air and swung his weapon down on top of the brunet. Lan quickly raised his handrail and blocked his opponent’s stick. He stepped forward and pushed him back before swinging his weapon like a bat at him. Saiba brought his quarterstaff down next to his side and deflected the blow before dropping down and sweeping it out from under Lan’s feet, knocking him onto his back. The headbanded Official tried to stand back up, but his opponent placed his staff under his chin, thus restraining him. Lan tried to push him away, but Saiba held firm.
“You’re not getting out of this one that easily, Lan,” he smirked. A sudden gust of wind suddenly blew him off balance and Lan took the opportunity to escape. Saiba growled as he turned toward the direction from which the wind came and saw a helicopter flying overhead. Laika was in the pilot’s seat and Sean, Chaud, Maylu, and Noah were at the open door.
“Lan!” Maylu yelled over the noise of the helicopter blades.
“Guys!” Lan’s eyes brightened at the sight of his friends. Sean took one of Noah’s marbles and shot it down at Saiba’s hand with a rubber band. He hit his target and the quarterstaff fell out of the white-haired teen’s grip.
“It doesn’t matter if your friends are here to help you or not,” Saiba said, “You can’t defeat Omega X.”
“Don’t be so sure!” shouted Chaud.
“Guys!” Lan yelled over the wind, “MegaMan needs help! We need some way to give him sunlight!”
“We’re on it!” Sean replied before everyone ducked back inside the chopper, “So, how do we do it?” Everyone thought for a moment and Noah finally spoke up.
“A lot of criminals have tried to change weather patterns in the past by hacking into the weather satellites around the world,” the boy genius explained, “We can attempt to do the same to help MegaMan win this battle.”
“Let’s try it,” said Maylu. Everyone jacked in their Navis, who transported themselves over to the weather satellite control systems.
“Let’s do this!” shouted Axl. He placed his hands against one of the satellite’s programs and pushed. At the same time, ProtoMan, SearchMan, Roll, and Lumine did the same to four other programs. As they pushed, five of the satellites began to move. They turned toward the sun until light began to reflect off their mirrors. Then they redirected the light down toward Neo Arcadia. Once the satellites were in place, all the Navis abandoned their posts and ran over to a single program.
“Today’s forecast: sunny,” Axl said with a smirk. And with that, they all pushed at once and the program slid a ways to the side, causing the clouds over Neo Arcadia to suddenly disperse and bathing the entire island nation in sunlight. Lan checked his solar gauge and watched as it shot up to its ten-bar limit.
“We’ve got full power, MegaMan!” he shouted, “Let’s end this once and for all!”
Inside the server, MegaMan’s entire body began to radiate with the light of the sun and his eyes snapped open. He grabbed onto Omega X’s claws and flipped himself on top of his hand, slamming his feet down hard and freeing his scarf. He stood up to his full height and leapt high into the sky. The white light that was shining down was suddenly replaced by a blinding golden light as a massive sun appeared in the sky. Omega X was blinded by the brilliant star as MegaMan flashed down toward him and slammed his entire weight down. He leapt off his opponent and kicked him back up. Omega X floated away and shook his head.
“Damn you, MegaMan! Light of the Sef…” He never got to finish calling his attack as his opponent slammed his fist against his face. He tried to grab him, but MegaMan pushed himself away and spun around before delivering a strong kick to the seraphic NetNavi’s hand.
“Gotcha!” Omega X’s other arm shot out and grabbed his foe. MegaMan struggled in his grasp for a moment before he forced the fingers open. His feet pushed against his palm and his fifth finger while his hands strained against the thumb and index finger. Holding off the other appendages at bay with his leg and arm, he glared at Omega X.
“Foolish mistake!” the white Navi exclaimed, “Holy Light!” With lighting quick reflexes, MegaMan leapt free from his opponent’s hand and smashed the gem in the center of his palm.
“WHAT?!” Omega X stared disbelievingly at the smoke that was coming out of his hand as his enemy landed on top of his arm. MegaMan clasped his hands together and raised them over his head. Then, with all his might poured into his arms, he slammed them down and smashed through Omega X’s right arm. He landed back on the floor of the sanctuary as pieces of white armor fell around him.
“This can’t be!” shouted Omega X, “I don’t believe it!”
“Believe it,” answered MegaMan, “because this is really happening. No matter what the obstacle, the true light will always shine through!”
“You think you’ve actually won?” Omega X demanded, “You haven’t faced my most devastating technique of all!” He floated higher up and raised his remaining arm over his head.
“Descend Heartless Angel!”
A brilliant white light emerged from Omega X and surrounded his body. His wings extended to ten times their length and the radiance spread out in all directions.
“Gun Del Sol!” MegaMan morphed his hand into his Solar Gun and took aim. Omega X laughed and sneered at his opponent.
“Do you think that tiny thing can stop my attack?” he jeered. MegaMan said nothing, but merely replied by pulling the trigger and firing a single Solar Shot. It pierced through Omega X’s light and struck him hard on the chest, pushing him away.
“But how?! My attack was unstoppable!”
“Everything has a weakness!” answered MegaMan, “An attack spanning a range like yours did is built to overwhelm. It invokes fear into your enemies before it deals massive damage to them. But when one remains calm, he can find a weakness and I found that weakness. A small fast-moving attack can easily bypass the attack and hit the source.” He morphed his arm back and dashed forward. He leapt up behind Omega X and latched onto his back. He then squeezed his eyes shut and cried out as he began pulling with all his might. The seraphic NetNavi screamed out as his lower-left and middle-right wings were ripped right out of his body. MegaMan thrust himself toward the sky and flipped over his opponent’s head. He grabbed onto his shoulder and swung around with a kick aimed at the side of his neck before dropping back down and slamming both feet against his chest, cracking the seal on which the Crest of Arcadia shined. He landed in the very center of the seal on the floor and raised his hands up toward the sun.
“TAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIYYYOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!”
A brilliant flash of sunlight filled the battlefield as cores of the four generators of the Pile Driver appeared around the golden-armored Navi. Each one of them launched a beam of sunlight toward the center and they met where MegaMan stood, creating a blazing bright ball of light. The Navi cloaked in the crimson scarf drew his Gun Del Sol again, held it to the shining orb, and began charging. The Pile Driver began to build an even larger sphere and he aimed it up at Omega X. He took one last look at his opponent and released his hold on the trigger. The Pile Driver launched the ball of sunlight from the Gun Del Sol and it struck the target with maximum power. Omega X cried out as the attack hit him and exploded on impact. His armor cracked and the seal on his chest bearing the Crest of Arcadia shattered. He slowly fell backward and plunged toward the fiery abyss.
“No…” he gasped, “…the Crest…of…Arcadia…” The Crest of Arcadia faded from his chest and his eyes went dark. A massive explosion followed as his body vanished into oblivion. MegaMan stood on top of the sanctuary tall and proud as he looked down at his fallen foe and gave a satisfied nod. He returned to the center of the seal and raised his arms toward the sun once again. The Crest of Arcadia started to glow under his feet as the Pile Driver shot beams of light into his body and he let out a deafening scream. A massive wave of sunlight shot out from his body in all directions and the entire nation of Neo Arcadia began to shine as bright as the sun. Across the planet, Pantheons disappeared in masses until not a single one remained. The Crest of Arcadia vanished from the captured Navis and they all disappeared from the lower sanctuary, returning to their operators. But the salvation didn’t stop there. Every single image of the Crest of Arcadia disappeared or broke upon being bathed in sunlight until the seal in the highest sanctuary shattered. The Pile Driver vanished and MegaMan lowered his arms. He opened his eyes and stood for a moment in the highest heaven before dropping back down. He landed in the center of the now-empty lower sanctuary and his scarf dropped around his ankles.
“My work here is done.” And with that, he vanished, returning to Lan’s PET.
“MegaMan! You did it!” the brunet exclaimed.
“No, Lan. We did it.” MegaMan, now back to his original form, looked up at his twin brother and smiled.
“Lan, catch!” shouted Sean as he and Maylu threw a rope ladder out the door and Lan grabbed onto it as they flew away.
“It’s finally over,” Lan sighed, “We defeated Omega X and the Crest of Arcadia is no longer a threat.”
“Did you forget about me?” A hand suddenly grabbed onto Lan’s ankle and the Net Savior quickly held onto the ladder for dear life as Saiba tried to drag him down.
“Let go, Saiba, or you’ll get us both killed!” he shouted.
“If that’s what it takes to eliminate you, then so be it!” Saiba yelled back, “It’s least I can have if Neo Arcadia doesn’t return to its former glory!”
“GUYS!” Lan cried as he held onto the ladder even tighter.
“Hands off him!” shouted Noah as he and Sean shot marble down at him, but they only succeeded in irritating Saiba.
“For the last time, GET OFF!” Lan snapped on one of his rollerblades and slammed the wheels against Saiba’s hand. The white-haired teen yelled out in pain and he lost his grip on Lan’s leg. Not long after, his other hand slipped and he plunged toward the ground. Lan just looked down and blinked in disbelief.
“Okay, that wasn’t supposed to happen.”
“Then why did you stamp on his hand with your rollerblade?” asked MegaMan.
“I panicked.” Lan returned his rollerblade back to its storage place and climbed into the helicopter. Sean pulled the rest of the ladder back in and Chaud shut the door before giving Laika the sign to fly away.
“How did it go?” asked Maylu.
“Omega X is deleted, the Crest of Arcadia is no more, and I think I just killed Saiba,” Lan answered.
“So what exactly happened?” Noah asked curiously.
“Better choose your words carefully, Lan,” MegaMan cautioned his operator, “You know what Noah is like.”
“How can I say this without overexciting you?” Lan said thoughtfully before giving his answer, “Actually, I think it’d be best if I didn’t tell you now.”

With the threat of the Crest of Arcadia gone for good, everyone focused all their time and efforts on final exams. Noah had commandeered the entire kitchen table for his studies while Chaud had done the same with the coffee table in the living room.
“Hey Noah, can you make some room?” asked Dex, “It’s almost dinner time.”
“No,” was the boy’s answer, “And if you touch anything, you WILL regret it.”
“Okay, okay.” Dex backed away from the hostile eight-year-old and walked out of the kitchen.
“What’s up with Noah and Chaud?” he asked as Lan came downstairs, “They’re both acting really weird.”
“Well Dex, most of us are in third year, but Chaud’s in his fourth year and Noah’s aiming for his Ph. D,” Lan answered, “They’re studying extra hard so they can graduate.”
“Ohhhhhh! I see. I’ll bet it’ll be really great for them once they get out.”
“If you thought our high school graduation was incredible, wait until we graduate next year.”
The next couple of weeks seemed to fly by and exams were on the students of Den University once again. Chaud and Noah pushed themselves well beyond their limits in order to excel in their finals, which caused their friends to worry. They wanted to lend their help, but knew that it would just get turned down. By the time finals were over, Noah was completely exhausted from endlessly staying up all night to study while Chaud, being more physically able to handle grueling hours of work, managed to hang in albeit tired but still not completely burnt out.
“How’s the kid?” asked Tory.
“Still sleeping,” Sean replied as he came downstairs into the living room, “I say we just let him. After all, I think he’s earned it.”
“Okay. In the meantime, we better get our meeting started.” Tory picked up some papers from the coffee table and faced the others, “We have a situation here, guys. It seems the landlord was only renting out the place so he could pay the mortgage he took out to buy the place. But he can’t make the payments so the bank is taking the property away from him.”
“So that means we can’t live here anymore,” Lan surmised.
“That’s right,” Tory replied, “We’re going to have to find some new living arrangements.”
“Well, I had fun living with you guys, but I’d rather go back home. The ‘normal’ life just doesn’t suit me,” said Yai.
“There’s no need to worry about me,” Chaud added, “I’m gone next year.”
“What about the rest of you guys?” asked Tory.
“What about you?” Lan asked in return.
“Since I don’t attend school anywhere near ACDC Town anymore, my parents are planning to move to a place closer to the Waterworks, which is closer to the university than my house right now so I’ll be living with them,” answered Tory.
“Don’t worry about me,” Dex assured the others, “I’ve already made arrangements for the summer. I’ll just have them extended over the next year.”
“I’m still not sure what I’m going to do,” Sean replied, “What about you, Lan? And you as well, Maylu?”
“Actually, Maylu and I have decided that we’re going to get our own place,” answered Lan, “We’ve both been thinking about moving out from home, so we thought that we should move in together.”
“Those are some plans you guys have,” commented Chaud.
“I guess it’ll be like a practice round until you guys get hitched,” added Tory. Both Lan and Maylu turned slightly red at Tory’s last statement. The thought had crossed their minds a number of times, but they had never actually discussed it.
“We’re…probably going to wait until after graduation,” Maylu answered slowly.
“There’s still one more issue,” Sean piped up, “Noah may be an independent, but he’s still underage so he’s going to need an adult to stay with. And don’t try social services. I’ve been there and I know what it’s like.”
“We can cross that bridge when we get to it,” Tory answered.

Shortly after the end of final exams came the graduation ceremonies. Everyone came to watch Chaud at his ceremony, where he would receive his degree in business. Chaud himself was seated with the rest of the graduates while the others sat among the countless attendees with their cameras, phones, and PETs ready for photos and videos.
“Eugene Chaud.” At the mention of his name, the skunk-haired graduate walked up to the stage and received his degree. After several photos of him shaking hands with the master of ceremonies, he returned to his seat and waited patiently as the ceremony continued through the remaining students in the C list all the way until the end of the Z list.
When the ceremony finally ended, everyone quickly caught up with Chaud.
“Hey Chaud, congratulations!” Sean said cheerfully.
“Awesome, Chaud! You made it!” Lan congratulated as he slapped his friend across the back.
“So, now that you’re out, what’re you going to do now?” asked Dex.
“I plan to run IPC fulltime,” answered Chaud as he removed his grad gown and cap. He suddenly sensed another presence and he turned around to come face-to-face with his father.
“Son,” Shuuseki Chaud acknowledged.
“Father,” Chaud acknowledged back.
“I supposed congratulations are in order,” Shuuseki said emotionlessly. He turned his back on the others and stood there for a moment facing the opposite direction.
“You’ll be home by this weekend, correct?” he asked.
“Y-yes, sir,” replied Chaud.
“I’ll have a banquet prepared for your success.”
“Thank you, sir.”
Without another word, Shuuseki Chaud walked away, leaving everyone behind.
“So that’s Chaud’s father,” Noah thought out loud, “Rather a cold man, isn’t he?”
“Maybe so, but deep down he really does care,” answered Chaud.

A few days later, the ceremony for the Ph. D graduates came. Almost everybody at the university came as well as several who had graduated from the previous year.
“Why are there so many people here?” asked Yai.
“Did you already forget that Noah’s a famous researcher?” was Sean’s response, “Before he only had Masters’, but now he’s receiving his Doctors’.”
As the ceremony wore on, everyone waited patiently as the Ph. D graduates came up one at a time to receive their degrees. When the list reached K, the anticipation grew.
“Noah Kaiyou.” At the mention of the child prodigy’s name, everyone who came to see this moment snapped to attention as Noah stepped onto the stage garbed in his Den University graduation gown and cap.
“Noah, it gives me great honor to present you with that for which you have worked so hard to earn,” the dean announced, “I now present you with your Ph. D in chemistry, physics, biology, economics, fine arts, computer sciences, …” The list went on for a while and Noah finally received his scroll.
“Congratulations, Dr. Kaiyou.”
“Thank you.” Noah took his degree and shook hands with the dean before making his exit.
* * *
“Hey Noah, congrats!” shouted Lan as he and the others ran over to Noah after the ceremony. The boy had discarded his gown and cap, leaving him in the semi-formal attire he had worn underneath.
“Thanks, guys,” he answered cheerfully, “The dean said the rest of my degrees would be coming in the mail.”
“Then what’s the scroll for?” asked Tory.
“Just for the ceremony,” answered Noah.
“Hey guys, now that Chaud and Noah have graduated, we should take them out to celebrate their successes,” suggested Yai.
“Great idea!” exclaimed Dex.
“Need a place to party?” Everyone jumped as Zack swung down on them from a tree with his legs hooked over one of the branches. The bushes under him rustled for a moment as Nick popped out from his hiding place.
“Do you guys always have to do that?!” shouted Lan.
“Relax guys. Now come on. I know a great party place where even an underage kid can go!” Zack climbed off the tree and started running off, “Well, come on!”
“What do you guys say?” asked Chaud.
“It’s really up to you and Noah,” answered Sean, “It’s your party, after all.”
* * *
The following day, moving trucks and family arrived outside the house to collect the friends.
“That’s the last of it,” Lan announced as he finished stuffing his last suitcase in the trunk of his car, “Maylu, have you seen Sean? We can’t leave without him.”
“He’s making one last sweep of the house to make sure we didn’t leave anything behind,” answered Maylu. Within minutes, the grey-haired teen came outside.
“The house is clear except for the original appliances and furniture,” he declared.
“Good job, Sean. Now come on. Let’s go home.” Lan got into the driver’s seat and Maylu climbed in next to him into the passenger’s side. Sean got into the packed backseat and buckled himself in.”
“You know, in some way I’m going to miss this place,” he thought aloud.
“We sure had a lot of good times in that house,” Lan said as he drove off the driveway and headed out to the main road, “but we’ve got a bright future not too far ahead of us.” His lips curled back into a smile as he made a turn and began the drive to ACDC Town.

Some place far away, in a dark room illuminated only by the light of a computer monitor, a lone figure wrapped in a black hooded robe stood in the shadows leaning against a wall. It watched with its arms crossed over its chest as it waited for another figure wearing a similar robe, who was sitting at the computer. The seated form turned around and gave the other a nod. The two of them then proceeded out of the room and up a dark flight of stairs onto a balcony overlooking a vast canyon. Three more figures cloaked in black robes stood waiting and a sixth was just stepping out from a door on the side. As they approached one another, a seventh appeared seemingly out of nowhere and joined the others. The seven robed figures gathered at the edge of the balcony and looked out at the canyon. They turned to each other and gave one another affirming nods before returning their gazes back to the great depression before them.
TO BE CONTINUED…IN SEASON FOUR!

End of chapter 3-82 and season 3.
Now that season 3 is finished, I don’t plan to start writing season 4 until sometime in August (late July at the earliest). Season 4 will be the final season of Rockman.EXE: The College Years. _________________

Well I have to say, Sol Cross Rock turned out all-right after all. That was a good wrap-up chapter for season three, and It felt as if everyone was moving on. The only thing that seemed a little odd was how fast the navis ended up at the weather control computer. Aside from that, the chapter was terrific! I look forward to season four. _________________

I'm so glad that you were able to get that last chapter out of your system, man. I know how it feels to have a lot of ideas and thoughts stuck in your head.
Sonic: What Maurice is comparing you to is his experience with trying to get his mid-terms and Exams done as well as his assignment papers, AnimeMaster.
Shadow: That was about three whole weeks worth of sleepless nights well spent.
Maurice: (Sweatdrops) You guys don't have to agree with me on that one ya know. (Ahem!) Anyway, I've saw what you did with the chapter and its good that you've kept most of the good parts in it. Trust me, from the reviews that I've read from the other people, you really outdid yourself. Oh, and that part where you put in Chaud's dad was a good addtion to the chapter. It also seems that the Sol Cross MegaMan thing wasn't a random flake after all. Trust me, I've read the reviews. In either case, the final chapter of this season went off great. Sure it had a few bumps along the way, but that happens to everyone. Well, now that you're going to be off on vacation, I'm going to try my best to keep up with my own work, stories and all. You deserve the vacation. I can wait until season four.
Shadow: Last time that happened, I seem to recall you worrying all over the place all about that little report of yours that you werew suppose to do, Maurice.
Sonic: That's for sure, Shadow. I mean, the guy always puts himself down for when the two of us know that he would do good in all of his work and assignments. It's just so annoying sometimes.
Maurice: (Sweatdrops and coughs) Well, now that you are going off on vacation, I would like to say that it was good to work with you as your beta-test reader for the chapters. I know that I was hard on you sometimes. Heck, I was even too nice for my own good for when I review your chapters. Anyway, I hope that I get to be your beta-tester for Season Four and don't worry, I won't hold anything back from you that time. Count on it. Well, later until then.

Well...
I must congratulate you. You did manage to salvage the season after all. Combat was...intricate. I still felt that it was a tad anticlimactic, with the use of Sol Cross Rock, but you still managed to somewhat keep it active and good to read. The epilogue seemed to be somewhat drawn out, though.
This is returning to its prvious stature, actually. Hopefully this will return to an exalted state come the next and final arc. _________________ Today, these three players are after Big Bucks! I'm glad you were able to wrap things up and bring the series to a close in the end. Sorry I haven't reviewed for such a long time but I'll try to get back into things when next season starts. Good luck with it and all. _________________ Formerly known as LunarSun

Okay, you.
I'm going to ignore the date of the thread (other than posting in a nearly 2 year old thread), considering that you're allowed to review fanfiction.
What you're not allowed to do, however, is flame. You've already been warned once on not to do it, so this is your SECOND warning. Consider that carefully, as you are on your last warning after this.
If you wish to stay at the board, review ALL the rules before making another post. One more warning and it will be time for the banhammer. _________________
