Where can I download RPG Maker XP?
I have RPG Maker 2000 but I want to make it cooler with this game making device!
Right now, I made one futuristic game called Unknown Hope but it's not yet finished. _________________ Rockman.EXE Level-Up! coming soon! Work in progress to be exact! |

"No discussions involving ROMs or any other warez. Period."
You might wanna check the rules before you make a thread like this. |

RPG Maker was a ROM? I thought it was just a game program for PCs..... Strange..... Ah oh well. I also want to know where to find that program anyways, too. RPG Toolkit ver 2.5 sucks and doesn't allow music and text so I need a better RPG game making program.

RPGMaker Xp is not a rom... It's a RPG maker. True there was one for the PS but we aren't talking about that. try checking www.vizzed.com and go to the forums, you need a certain amount of posts to be able to download it though =/. |

Or better yet go to RPG Infinity and you only have to sign up and then you can download it(seeing as I just did that a few hours ago ^_^ ) _________________ I am Reaver.EXE from the old forums

RPG maker doesn't fall under that category, there's been discussions about it before that were allowed without trouble.
Don't have the link at the moment unfortunately, but I should be able to find it in a bit. |

About the "no roms" thing, I don't think roms are illegal, just as long as you own the real thing, AND you don't sell roms or provide links to them.
Then also, how come people don't consider bit torrent illegal but they consider roms illegal? I've never used it, but from what I've heard, isn't it like Kazaa? _________________ War may not be the right answer, but when you're in one, ending it effectively and with positive results is a must. Almost like it Kain, but you don't search for files with a search engine. You go to a certain site that does torrents and you get it from them which is actually by a lot of people. So it's "sharing". A lot of people get movies and crap. |

Bittorrent - You gaining data and sharing it at the same time with many other people
Kazaa/Warez - You getting much data from many peopl and sharing it when you are finished _________________

But still, why do people consider roms illegal when they don't consider Bittorrent illegal (since it's somewhat like Kazaa, but not completely)? Here's an easier summary of legal/illegal about roms:
Legal if:
-you own the original cart
-you want to try out a game before buying it, to see if you like it
-you want to rip graphics or sound from a game
-you get a translated rom of a game never release in America (if you can't read Japanese, like me)
-you're playing an old NES RPG but your cart's battery is dead
Illegal if:
-you archive them on a A/D disk and you SELL them
-you provide/ask for links to them (unless you actually show someone face-to-face)
Now I'm not saying roms are completely legal, but I seriously doubt you'll get into trouble for it. _________________ War may not be the right answer, but when you're in one, ending it effectively and with positive results is a must. Vote John McCain for U.S. President.

It doesn't matter how much you think they're okay.
The admins have decided that you aren't allowed to talk about them here, while talk about RPG Maker is considered to be okay.
Please stop and get back on topic before the topic gets locked.
Edit: Got the link, this site has RPG Maker XP as well as all the previous versions and I-Draw (an editing program made specifically for RPG Maker sprites, I'd definately recommend it for any custom spriting)

Actually, I prefer 2003. I heard XP is complex and has few resources. |

XP is more complex and it's missing a few useful parts that the previous versions had, but it's still quite good IMO.
The only trouble I encountered is the art in battle, but that can be taken out or replaced with sprites with a little bit of editing (again, Idraw helps here) |
