Really, check out the VG Cats site (vgcats.com). They've had a couple of hilarious Wii-related comics. A new one was posted just today! Warning! Warning! Don't make fun of the Wii, or it will hurt you! _________________ Church: Are you following any of this?

Just to let you guys know, the "Wii" jokes are quite old now. The name was announced weeks ago and everyone should have it out of their system now. Anyone who isn't going to buy the system just because of the name wasn't going to buy one anyways.
It's the final name, it's not changing, yes it can have connotations, yes Nintendo knew it would be controversial, no they're not changing it, and yes Nintendo pwn'd Sony and MS at E3.
We've seen the name, but more importantly we see the true revolution it's going to bring. I don't know about you, but the rest of us are getting a Wii!

@_@ After E3 anyone who isn't in love with the Wii must be nuts. The new controller looks awesome, the "new" old one looks great; plus Super Smash Bros. Brawl, MP: Corruption, and LoZ Twilight Princess on it I'll buy one the day it comes out. Now I just have to earn some money. To Turbotax! *runs to do people's taxes* _________________

I'll bet you won't need to earn much. :P It's not going to be anywhere near as expensive as even an XBox 360. \o/
I'm sure I'll be buying one and several launch titles. _________________ (\ ºvº\ (\

I've heard a range of price from as low as $99 to $250. My bet is on $150. _________________ (\ ºvº\ (\

Do you think it might eventually reach $350? _________________ Guernsey Adams Pierre

The only way I can see the Wii costing as much as the PS3 is if Nintendo decided to add in Blue-Ray at the last minute. Which is VERY unlikely. |

Nintendo tends to change the names of all of their systems in progress (Ie: gamecube was going to be called the dolphin). Maybe Nintindo thought the name was too close to 360. revolution has to do with circles and so does 360 (just another kind of serious thought)... |

The Dolphin wasn't the original name for the Gamecube, it was a codename. They're not exactly the same thing. |

My bet is on $150. | If that's case I won't have to do many taxes; it's freaking amazing how many people get extensions these days. I'm predicting either $150 or $200 ('cause weren't these the starting prices of the N64 and Gamecube). I doubt we'll see anything over 200; Nintendo's always been more affordable than Sony or Microsoft. _________________

Hehee, I had a friend complaining the other day that the name stunk, and that he would continue to refer to it as Revolution.
"The system formerly known as Revolution." (pause, then sarcasm) "Formerly known as Dolphin."
...
Did anybody get it?
HAha, he actually thought Dolphin was one of Wii's earlier devo names, but it was really Gamecube's. So I thought he was making a joke about how the Wii is just a souped-up Gamecube, and was all like "Oooo, that's meaaan...". And nobody else laughed. Like I'm sure nobody is now... =p |

Maybe Nintindo thought the name was too close to 360. revolution has to do with circles and so does 360 (just another kind of serious thought)... | But the meaning is really very different. 360 was an accurate name for the X-Box system. "We are turning in a complete circle and then we're going to keep going the same, exact direction we were going in in the first place." Revolution, on the other hand, tells us about an actual change, and a major change at that. "Wii at Nintendo are going to the gaming industry, giving it a pimp slap, hurling it into traffic, then laughing while our Wii-mobiles run it down. That should shake things up a bit."
And of course, Sony isn't even trying to fancy themselves up. The system's name says it all. Playstation 3. It's not different (except the limited motion sensing); it's just bigger.
I want to say that all the systems have their merits, but I don't think that's quite accurate. The Wii has what Nintendo does best: innovation. With the Classic or Gamecube controller, it can play the kind of games the other systems play, while the Nunchucks offer gameplay we've never had before. The Playstation 3 offers what will potentially be the largest and most graphically appealing games we've ever seen on a console. The X-Box 360... I don't think Microsoft was trying very hard. It was supposed to be a step up from the X-Box, but it's been pretty lacking so far. Halo 3 is supposed to come out for it next year and I heard that Devil May Cry 4 is a 360 possibility, but It's still not looking worth it. Wii, please take Halo away with you. _________________ Church: Are you following any of this?
