So... Since since the edit button went the way of the disco dancing dinosaurs, I think that it'd be a good idea to impliment a spellchecking option, if it isn't too much trouble.

Without being able to edit, there's no way to fix typos and stuff like that you might make in the initial post, so being able to try and catch at least most of them before you post would be helpful IMO.

That's a good idea, but I think posting people should take their time checking their typing before posting. It's as simple as it is... well, for most of them.

I agree with RT-Fact.
There IS a preview button right next to the submit button.
Checking how your post will look like before actually posting it is good practice.

Personally, I think spell-check in boards isn't a very good idea.
Spell check takes time in standalone programs, more so in BBS that will have to travel through the net then send you back a response.
Imagine the lag if it were a really long post....

Spell checking online is nearly never done in real-time. What Viewtiful Starman wants is probably like the spell check in various other board software where you can click a button (next to Preview and Submit) and the whole post is spellchecked. All you need to do after that is to edit the mistakes and press Submit.

I think that would be a useful feature. The ability to check your post for misspulling would certainly aid me with these unspellable words. *points at misspelling*

What Numbergirl said about lagging issues is just the reason why I suggested why we should check the spelling manually. I've been a member on another forum with that SpellingCow mod and it took me sometimes forever to correct or leave a word unchanged.

And anyway, if you haven't noticed, there IS a spellcheck button on this board, right below the message bar in the REPLY section. It's really fast, since it's named "PHPspell".

'Suppose you're right, I did look at the posting times before writing my post, but I suppose that you could've surfed away and came back a couple o' minutes later to write your post.. Still, you knew that there wasn't a 'SpellCheck' button before this topic because you already replied in it before. :P
I hope that the Edit button will return, though. :O

Also, could terms such as 'Rockman', 'Megaman', 'Mega Man', 'Roll', etc. be added to the dictionary some time? Just the most common names/terms of course.
