Watching the E3 trailer of Metal Gear Solid 4 alot of things come to mind.

There must have been some war that broke out inbetween MGS2 and 4.
ALOT HAS CHANGED SINCE MGS2!
1st of all Raiden's is a cyborg ninja now?
2nd well we kinda knew it was coming is Liquid Ocelot.
3rd major characters from MGS1 are returning:)

But one thing that still shocks me is in the end of the trailer Snake says that "Some Legends are Ment to Die" and then puts the gun in his mouth and supostly fires it.
Anyone care to sepctulate on that

From what I remember of reading articles is that this will be the last game that Snake is to be the main character. This is from interviews with the games creator and director from PSM mangazine. What is unclear is if Snake dies or if he will take up a role like Col. Campbell, or be a contact to give you information in the later games in the series.

I haven't seen a new trailer past the one shown at the Tokyo Gameing Expo, where it starts out like a FPS then switches over to an older Snake beating up the solders with some CQC moves and taking their weapons. I wouldn't mind seeing the trailer that you are talking about.

I hope Snake doesn't die like that. Really. He shoots himself in, I'm assuming, a house. That's not very great unless that location has some sort of meaning to it. Remember how the Boss died? BB shot her in a field of flowers? Something that great is what I'm hoping for. Snake deserves a more powerful death rather than your everyday death/suicide.

I wonder where that black mark on Snake's face came from. Also, was that Cambell at the graveyard saluting? Heh, reminds me of Snake Eater. I'm guessing it's Snake's tombstone. Or if Kojima wants to trick his fans, as usual, it would be something we might not expect like the Boss.

Since Raiden is back, I just remembered about Olga's child. I wonder if he/she will also appear in MGS4.

if you guys remember foxdie from mgs1, snake actually has it and apparantly it makes him age rapidly, and my friend heard somewhere that he is actually rotting on the inside because of the virus

If i remember Correctly The Reason Snake has Aged So much is [spoil:1e27cd1f59]because of the Fact that Big Boss was in his Mid 40's When he was Cloned to make the Snake's Which will eventually cause accelerated aging.... if i remember correctly[/spoil:1e27cd1f59]

Also i think that Will Die in the game... Just not in the way the trailer shows.... Probably just another one of Kojima's tricks

Broken Goggles, I think that the dark mark on Snakes face is just dirt and grime from fighting that got smeared on him since it looks like he got some in the teaser trailer from the Tokyo Game Show release as well. After all, you can't run around in a town or city that is being blown up without getting something on your face now can you?

I was able to find the artcle fairly easily, but have yet to have the time to scan it. This is from the Independent PlayStation Magazine printed last month as part of a two page spread containing an interview with Ryan Payton about the "Metal Gear Saga" documentry.

One thing about Meryl that confuses me.....

As you all may remember, the original MGS had two endings: The good one where Meryl lives, and the bad one where she dies.

Now, when I played MGS2, since Otacon was still alive, I assumed that the bad ending was canon, and that Meryl was dead.

But now, in MGS4, we see that she is alive and kicking.

So, was the good ending the real ending? And if it was, how the hell did Otacon survive, and what was Meryl doing during MGS2?

That's just like asking where Colonel Campbell,Mei Ling, have been. The timeline between MGS2 and 1 is only 4 years.

One thing that I'm courious about is how Raiden is the new cyborg ninja
