New Characters

Pit (Kid Icarus)

Solid Snake (Metal Gear Solid(YEEEEEEESSSS))

Zero Suit Samus (the blue "no-suit" Samus from Metroid: Zero Mission)

Metaknight (Kirby)

Wario (Wario)

To be honest, I'm not so happy with Snake. It's not that I dislike MGS or anything like that, but I've always thought of SSB as being something special to Nintendo. Having third party characters makes it less special for me I guess. Still, I am excited about some of the new characters. But considering that Pit is effectively a flying character I wonder what they'll do with him, maybe hovering above the ground or something?

Very, very exciting. If I wasn't already going to buy a Wii, this set my heart on one!

Snake? That's so out of place. MGS is all about sneaking your way around. You're suppose to avoid fighting. Hopefully they give him some CQC moves. This is like when Spartan-458 was added to DOA4, just another attempt to attract more people.

From what I know, Kojima practically *begged* for Snake to in SSBM, but nothing. Now he's in SSBB :D

LOL .... he and my brothers just had the best laugh we have had in awhile....

since playing Metal Gear Solid we have always shouted "BATMAN!" when Snake stands his back against the wall.

so when I saw the trailer I just had to laugh when I saw snake hiding in the box..

anyway the Graphics are awesome.... can't wait for it to come out.

Snake's already been in a Smash Bros style game actually, where he fit in pretty well. >_>

Anyhow... I'm looking forwards to it. I'm more excited about Metaknight and Wario, but it was a cool surprise and has a lot of interesting ways he can be played.

He's so boyishly cute and anime styled! Oh goodness, I love him! (Everone knew he had to make a comeback sooner or later.)
And... hm, my, look at Samus. Quite an outfit SHE'S got. XD
That trailer is flipping hilarious. When everyone tranforms into new spiffy things, Kirby just... stays the same. Haha, you can't make a pink sphere look much better, can you? And the music was just gorgeous (apparently Nobuo... uh... the FF guy wrote it!), until...
"Wait, why'd the music stop?"
"I don't know."
"No.. don't tell me..."
"What's Wario doing?"
"...they're interrupting it for a fart joke."

Apparently, there HAS been talk of letting some other third party people in, due to Snake's appearance.

So don't count Rock out yet... :D

If they're inviteing 'Guest' characters such as Snake in it they might invite a few other 'guests' to join...I'm thinking they might do it form every competor in gaming example

Square Enix- Cloud (ff)
Capcom- Rockman
Sega- Sonic
Konami- Solid Snake (MGS) yet we know he's there

IN SSBM most characters had 2 people from a series join is it could be possialbe that we could see Raiden(MGS2), Sephroith(ff), Shadow( Sonic) and Forte or Blues( rockman) if that's how they were doing some invited characters

Even though it was 2:00am when I saw the trailer and read the information on the game, I am most thoroughly impressed. The graphics look even better than ever, and the trailer only cemented my want.

The game looks like it is "made of win." That is all.

Oh man, I saw this news this morning and nearly vibrated out of my chair... so excited. I've wanted MetaKnight to be in the series for a long time now, and this is just so awesome. And Snake being in it is just hilariously awesome.

As far as Sonic being in the game, the fact that the game's makers have now asked for third-party characters, Sonic's chances have practically skyrocketed.

While surfing Atomic Fire's news, I also noticed that our freind neighborhood Blue Bomber is no. 6 on the request roster for the game.

That in itself shoots the "No Third-Party Ever!" rule out the window.

but if the blue bomber is chosen, it depends which version they will use....
Classics, X, Dash or BN

BN would be the better choise since its a NINTENDO only megaman series (x went from nintendo to playstation). He could use Longsword(or any sword), Buster, Guard(mettool chip) and another attack

Like Zan said, if they use Rockman at all it should definately be the origional.

Anyway, I have nothing against Snake or third party characters getting in, I just thought Sonic would be a better choice. Though I keep hearing that he's pretty much a shoe in since there was so much talk about him being in Meele.

But the game looks like it's gonna be a blast. It's nice that they've added more retro characters (Pit).

I'm personally hoping for Ridley, King K.Rool (Nintendo still owns the DKC characters right?), King Dedede, and Balloon Fighter.
