Potential EXE6 spoiler:
[spoil:ba6fc4f78a]Since the Battle Network series ended with BN6[/spoil:ba6fc4f78a]

I think it would be a good idea if Capcom started on a Battle Network X series. The BN series is a real moneymaker for Capcom, so they're likely to continue it with some sort of sequel series. Obviously, the main Navi would be X.EXE, though they could also incorporate stuff from the BN and X series into the new one. Sure, it sounds unoriginal, but I'm sure Capcom can do something that will be entertaining.

I already have multiple ideas of what they could put into this series, but I'm not willing to share them if no one's interested. If you want, please make some opinions on whether you think a BNX series would be worth it. If so, I'll start posting up my ideas.

Mod edit: Label your spoilers!

very interesting idea you got there, though i highly doubt that that would ever happen, but if they ever made an X.exe, that would sure make the series interesting.

Eh... I've never liked the idea of X.EXE becoming the hero of the BN series. A lot of the reason I like the EXE series is because it draws off of it's classic roots (with a few notable exceptions), and I'd like to see it stay close to those roots.

Besides, there's already an X.EXE. You meet him in BCC. Not that continuity every stopped Capcom before, but X has already had his EXE debut.

Also, there's no real proof that (EXE 6 spoiler from above and a counterpoint) [spoil:81dc7a621f]the series ended. Sure we had that summary, but that doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things. There's also a boatload of time between EXE 6 and the summarized time that's unaccounted for.[/spoil:81dc7a621f] After all, the X series was supposed to have ended with Zero sealing himself away, but Capcom couldn't resist a money-maker and continued the series... And look what happened.

X.EXE: Listen little Met, why must we fight, can't we just be friends?
Mettool: Grrrr... *fires shockwave*
X.EXE: Ow...

Hate to be off-topic, but could someone fill me in on this? I tried searching online but couldn't find anything.

Anyway, if they were to make BN go to X, I figured they'd have a new type of battle system and everything. However, I don't think 6 will be the end for the BN series.

You're right to be confused as he doesn't know what he's talking about. In Battle Chip GP, you meet or can control a character known as Normal Navi X and later on, Normal Navi X's operator will attempt to introduce you to Normal Navi Zero until Forte GS hijacks the battle.

EXE6 Spoiler: [spoil:55c99f727f]I think the fact that the last words were "Rockman.exe END" is good enough to indicate at least an end to the storyline, if not the entire series itself.[/spoil:55c99f727f]

We don't have an edit button remember?

At any rate, I don't see a need to introduce new characters. The ones we have already are quite dynamic, also there is far more story to the EXE series than there was to the original or X series. So, a shift would be much more difficult to pull off in some ways.

i wouldnt mind if Sigma is the first criminal mastermind in the series, as long as he isnt in every game like in the X-series. Perhaps like Wily in BN1,3 and 6......

I hope if they make a MMX BN, that it will introduce Vile, and the return of Zero(virus) from network transmission.

MMX BN would be an OK idea as long as they don't have something like Sigma Virus roaming round making humans/Navis become Irregulars. I think the possible MMX BN series it should be more like ReBoot, you know with Net Guardians, "game cubes" and what not.

Yeah, I was going to edit the last post I made in this thread when I suddenly realized that there was no Edit button. Makes me sad, seeing as I have a need to add something quite often. I also quoted myself yet again.... o.O

No need for Zero. There's no explicit rule stating that if X were a navi, Zero would HAVE to be his rival. Give other navis-to-be a chance, like perhaps Axl...

Zero.EXE was already introduced in Network Transmission (for the Gamecube), so he wouldn't be remade for a BNX series. Axl.EXE, however, would be perfect as a rival (like Gutsman or Protoman are to Megaman).
