As far as I know that's skeptical...where is your source and what is your source's source?

Actually I believe they confirmed that themselves a while ago. I don't remember which site it was, but I DO remember hearing that mentioned along with how the original idea for the next game was to simply port Melee onto the Wii with Wi-fi capabilities.

I believe that might have been Masahiro Sakurai himself, actually. He wrote a rather long and extensive article on the Brawl website about how he came to be reinvolved with the Smash Bros series.

I thought the Wii games can be played with the usual GameCube, just without all the special things the Wii contoller can do . . . if not I have to buy both the Wii and the game. (so expensive . . .)

It's not that the Wii games can be played on the Gamecube. It's that the Wii has controller ports for Gamecube controllers. This system is going to have more controllers lying around the house than any other system in history (I think). The two halves of the Nunchucks, the Gamecube controllers, and the Classic controllers. I just wonder if the Classic controllers will even be necessary if you have the Gamecube controllers. And who even knows how many other attachments the Wii will have.

So, which ones are the Three Musketeers anyway? Do you mean the sword fighters? So that's Link, Marth, and Roy, but what about Young Link? And now Metaknight is joining the crew of sword fighters. If only we could get Zero as a third-party cameo, or maybe Alucard. But that might just be too many sword fighters, huh? Heh, heh, or how about Dante? That would be fun. Especially if you could switch weapons like in the Devil May Cry games. Let him use Rebellion and Beowulf (my favored combination of weapons in Devil May Cry 3) and he'd be a super cool fun character to play.

No.
A Gamecube can only play Gamecube games and use Gamecube controllers.
A Wii can play both Wii and Gamecube games, and can use both Wii and Gamecube controllers.
In other words, Brawl will only be playable on Wii, but will be played with Gamecube controllers.

I dont think that your going to HAVE to use the Gamecube / Classic Controller to play SSBB. I would think that they would also allow you to use the Wii remote and Nunchuck for SSBB.

Taken from (PMM) Planet-megaman.com

"Yesterday, Nintendo sent everyone for a loop with a surprise unveiling of the new installment of the popular Nintendo brawler, Super Smash Bros. Brawl for their new console, the Wii. A number of new characters were revealed in a stunning trailer, including Meta Knight (From Kirby), Pit (From Kid Icarus) and Wario (Wario Ware-style, complete with a farting move).

But the biggest surprise was that Metal Gear Solid's very own Solid Snake was revealed to be on the roster. This marks the first time a 3rd party character made an appearance in a Smash Bros. game. Shigeru Miyamoto and Masahiro Sakurai (Creator of the series) stated that they were in talks with other companies for additional 3rd party fighters.

How is this relevant to Mega Man? Well, Nintendo is currently taking suggestions from fans for additions to the game, including characters and music, via an online form. This is a chance to get your favorite Mega Man characters to appear in the new Super Smash Bros. While the form is intended for the Japanese, it's well worth a try.

The submission form can be found here, if you know enough Japanese to submit.

If not, Rockman Perfect Memories is currently making submissions, and asking for impressions at their message board. Head over there and lend a hand.

News Credit: IGN, Rockman Perfect Memories"

unfortunately the links in the article can't be clicked, I'll submit them later, or you can check it out a PMM...

:( sorry it's old, but I posted, because you can probably get almost any character into the game if you know a bit of Japanese

But we knew that already, and the fact that you just copied it from another site to post it here isn't much better...

Also, the Dojo site has been updated with Meta Knight and Pit bios. It also reveals that Pit's symbol is his bow and arrow.

Oh yeah! I want all of those guys in; Marth, Roy, Link, Y. Ling, Meta Knight, Zero, Alucard, Rachet, any sword fighters they can get.

Sorry, that the swordsman fan in me talking. It seems like anybody nowadays can fire a gun, but it takes REAL skills to handle a sword.

I'm a fan of swords myself, because you don't have a) get right next to someone like you would for hand-to-hand, and b) you don't have to be far away to time and line up shots.
Plus, Marth's got a long sword. Which can go through certain walls. So on the Venom level, if someone is on the other side of the top-fin-thing of the Great Fox, I just chop through it and get them and their punches/projectiles can't get to me! Mwaha!
(Though this helps me win, the physics of it makes me cry inside.)

Not to mention the sweet spot on the tip of his sword allows him to play more of a range game. That's one of the reasons Marth recently became one of my best characters.

Heh, I do the same thing. Marth is my main character, and my friends like to play on the Hyrule Temple. So every time there's fighting going on in the center of the stage, I stand behind that pillar that juts up in the middle (seperating the right part of the stage from the ramp that goes downward), and whenever somebody gets close to the pillar, I slice through it and nail them with the sword's edge, getting more kills than I really should. It drives my friends NUTS. ^__^

Marth is just faster and can deal more damages with combo and precise hit spot. Roy is a bit slow and too much on one-hit strength.
