Here's an interesting topic; What characters just couldn't or shouldn't be in brawl.
I think the whole cloud/sephiroth duo shouldn't because the whole thing with them and their fans, it might just be too much. It's enough they're in kingdom hearts. Also I would like to see sonic in it but I wouldn't want to see shadow unless tails and knuckles were also in there. Since they were made first.
So does anyone else have a comment? |

Master Chief or whatever they call him from Halo. I don't care that Halo has a legion of unholy fans, that doesn't mean it has to, or should be in SSBB!
And on a side note, I kick arse with Peach too as said early. Also Tiers don't take into account the arena, some do better on certain arenas than others. :3

Besiiiides, it's the fanGIRLS you should worry about! 
Besides, putting BOTH of them in there would be stupid. If they have to put one in, it should be Cloud. Sephiroth would be out of place.

I would say Cloud would be out of place, as well. But that's just my opinion on the matter.
Basically, Final Fantasy characters should be fair game, but only FF1-6. Those are the characters more associated with Nintendo. Much moreso than anybody from FF7 on up.

Personally, I think I'd prefer it if Sora were in SSBB than if Cloud or Sephiroth were for this reason alone: with either of them, they would either have to be toned down, everyone else would have to be "toned up", or they would be too powerful. Of course, I really wouldn't mind if everyone were toned up (Giga Bowser and Metal Mario (w/out metal box) playable, anyone?).

I doubt any KH characters will be in Brawl. KH was always one of the best sellers for Sony, and I doubt they willl want to break that record. Being exception of CoM, since it wasn't a 3D game anyway.
Sonic in it and that's it. Anything else (except Tails, possibly) will be a waste of character space.
And definitely no Halo. I don't another person that looks almost like Samus's countertype in the game, while it's not even made by Nintendo.

How does including a Kingdom Hearts character in Brawl have anything to do with the sales of Kingdom Hearts? I'm not saying they will, but I doubt it's because of that.

This is entirely irrelevant to the subject at hand.
Also, in response to the Sonic thing, you seem to forget that Knuckles and Rouge are much more befitting of a melee game than Sonic/tails, considering they punch/kick accordingly. Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails would most likely all three be in it, if sonic characters were put in it. |

I was refering to that.
And no, Sonic can still go in with his attacks in Sonic Battle. And I doubt SEGA won't let him in Brawl if Kuckles or Rouge is in it.

If that's true, putting the characters from FF1 might be the best idea. They seem the most fit for such a game, especially Fighter.

These are characters I could see being in Brawl:
Ridley (maybe as a playable character, maybe as a boss)
Some more Pokemon; not sure who they'd pick.
Diddy Kong
Krystal
More Fire Emblem heros. Eliwood, Lyn and Hector, maybe?
Megaman
Sonic
Ryu (highly unlikely, but it's possible)
Arthur, Ghosts n Goblins (highly unlikely, but it's possible)
Why did I mention so few 3rd party characters? Because it's likely they will limit the 3rd party characters to one or two from each major development company (Capcom, Sega, you know). And even then, they'll also likely limit the characters to the company's mascot. True, Snake isn't Konami's mascot; but if they had to choose one, it would be him. Also, they would try to limit it to characters who either got their start on a Nintendo console or had a major game on a Nintendo console early in their history.
These are just off the top of my head; I could probably think of more with enough time.

Well... I have a list of my own.
For starters, as many have said in the beggining: Rockman, but from exe... I don't know, but he looks more versatile. Next would be Gallon. He's in a fighting series, yet is EXTREMELY underrated. And last but not least, let's give a little space for Sora. He just goes kicking Heartless and Nobody asses around... in a cool way (they could use the forms as color changes XD)
Well, thats it... not much shine, but meh, those are my favorites.

I agree with using EXE. I mean, it is the so far version with almost all the major games for Nintendo consoles. (not counting the WS ones.)
I am pretty sure they'll get a mascot for Namco. I mean, even they got Nintendo's Zelda on Soul Calibur 2; no reason to not do the same thing back.

Very true. A friend of mine said that I wouldn't be able to beat his Shiek with Mr.Game and Watch since G&W is low tier. Turns out I've beaten his Shiek at least three times with G&W (he's annoying with Shiek so he doesn't play her often). |

Hmm, I wonder what the likelyhood of game mods will be? New maps were added to Halo 2. Could there be whole new characters added after the release of the game? Now that could be interesting. Who knows what characters will show up in Wii games that fans will want to use in Smash Brothers? We don't yet know the full capabilities of the Wii, so we can consider any possibility at all. Even a talented programmer making their own stage or character. <_< Well, that could be a lot of trouble, so let's hope not too many people think of doing it. It would just scream for Zero Suit Samus to become No-Suit Samus. ^_^
