ZOMG!So many new FE people!^^ But,how come Elrika,Ephraim and Eliwood didn't make the cut?I want them! Laughing Marth is going to be one pissed off swordsman once he sees Ike.Imagine...

Marth vs. Ike!Fight to the death! Laughing I also bet that Roy's crying away in a corner now,as his daddy's not in this volume.

Soma Cruz would have been a great addition and I also agree with most of you guys on the forum that Kalas from "Baten Kaitos" has to be in this game.Wings!*goes after him* Smile

Hell, Roy might not even be in either. Sakurai said that some character(s) will definately not be returning and my bet is that it's some of the clones.

Mansako, your Brawl animation is too big for your siganture. It's 162k while the limit is 75k. If you could remove it that would be great.

Or you could just make it lower quality or smaller...... it IS a cool signature XD But I can see how it might trouble you :p

Having Sora would be awesome, as would Mega Man, obviously.

But moreso than anything, I sincerely hope we get Professor Kawashima from Brain Age as a playable character. Because as we all know, SSBB is sadly lacking in characters that are giant heads.

I'm pretty sure that Miyamoto explicitly told Sakurai that existing characters have to stay... they also have fanbases, however small they may be, that would be angered if the characters were deleted. Also, Dr. Mario ranks as a high-tier character.
And yeah, when I said you were welcome to take that animation, I didn't mean from my own server... I may not have any bandwidth costs to worry about, but I would be appreciative if you were to copy it to your own server (and comply with rules by shrinking it)

No, Sakurai said on the Japanese website that a character or characters will be removed.

I think what Miyamoto said was that if Sakurai didn't take charge of the program (when they were trying to get him to), they'd probably keep all of the characters without making any changes to them.

From the sound of it, Ganondorf may return with the ability to transform into Ganon. Hopefully, Young Link will either remain or be replaced with Wind Waker Link (who I hope will have a similar moveset, although I'd prefer if they were kept separate). I prefer Young Link to Link because of his greater speed.

Firstly, the overtly popular third-party character like Sonic, Rockman, Cloud, Sephiroth, Sora and couple of others shouldn't be in the game IMHO because they would just be representatives of their respective fandoms instead of the unity of the game as a whole. D:

I think the Pokemon Scyther (#123 Bug/Flying type) should be a playable character. XD It could be a Link clone that can jump higher (or longer) than most of the characters. To counter that advantage, we could make him a lightweight who's more susceptible to flying off the screen (like Jigglypuff). XD *dodges the bricks*

And a great item that SSBB should have is the Tetris block.

Basically, the item would look like one of the tetrinomials from the Tetris game (randomly chosen). It could be picked up and thrown onto the ground or at an enemy.
If it hits an enemy or wall, it will deal 1~3% damage and fall to the ground.
When it falls to the ground, it will make a small noise (like the Pokeball), glow for a second, and blast off upwards out of the screen.
Then, 5~7 fall from the sky and land wherever the first block had landed. They will form a rectangular block of maybe 4~5 blocks in width, glow for a second or two, and explode. =D
Of course, the ensuing damage and carnage caused by the blocks would affect all players including the one who threw it. XD Something like the Bob-omb and the Unown's diagonal swarm attack.
That would, of course, fit and possibly add some more fun to the game.
Of course, this is just my SUGGESTION and nothing more. XD

(Being a math nerd tends to make my crazy ideas seem ridiculous. XD)

Well, the game itself is pretty much one big Nintendo fan-game, right?
But that's your opinion, we'll respect that Smile

I just thought of something that should be considered in importing third-party characters (other than strength and weakness) : that character's The One Thing or The One Move that makes him/her unique from the others.

Solid Snake has his box move (YAY!). You can't get any more Solid Snake than that! Laughing

As for Sephiroth and Cloud....what?
Materia and all-powerful summons are definitely out of the question. They should play as themselves. Cloud may have the Buster Sword and Sephiroth his Masamune (?), but there are already other sword-wielders in the game, so what would make those two different from the others?
Maybe Cloud has the advantage with the Omnislash, but, as one has posted earlier, Link's move is already similar to that (Link doing Omnislash on Mario, or something).

In my scoresheet, Sonic, Rockman, and that incredible floating head Professor Kawashima have the advantage on this category by far. Laughing

What about the hero from the Katarmari Damacy games?

He could punch, kick, jump, etc. His shield could be a deteriorating katamari that regenerates as he rolls around the field like Yoshi. XD And then maybe his other moves could be related to throwing/hitting with katamaris. XD But I wonder if it would be feasible since the KD team has officially disbanded...=|

I don't think Sonic or Rockman would be possible because they need moves that can be used in the game. So, what will Sonic use as a smash attack? Well...maybe something from Sonic Battle. XO nvm that. And Rockman would be hard though unless they make him a near-Samus-clone. >_> Man, if he has the slide, it'd be hilarious. XD (assuming he's in it of course).

Sonic + Super Smash = Super Sonic.

If they did Forte at least he has a tradition of double jumping (Rockman & Forte) but I doubt they'd have more than one 3rd party character. At any rate, it's the way attacks chain, the speed and weight of the character and power of the attacks that determines the play style of any given character ignoring the basic attack mechanics. There's a lot of scope for variation really.
