OK so it's fake. But I still say that ridley could make a great boss. And hopefully they will have windwaker link.

Ridley would make a good playable character too.

http://www.joystiq.com/2006/06/05/sakurai-reveals-new-smash-bros-brawl-details/

Here's a collection of what is curently known about the game. Alot of it is old info but there's a few new things. Sakurai doesn't want to use characters that are only popular in Japan and doesn't plan to use a ranking system in the online mode. All the character's moves are going to be refined for easier aerial combat and the small details of combat will become easier to use.

Damn, Earthbound 2 better it's butt in the states so I can play as Lucas and Claus.

And I guess, despite being a Ness clone, that throws Ninten out too.

Well that's ok. I was a little bothered by that whole japenese characters thing in the list (pretty much only because they never put an english request form up) But if they only have 1 or 2 other third party characters then I think megaman and sonic would work. (Megaman is a third party right? Just wanted to check.)

I, personally, would rather have more obscure characters in the game. I submitted Marina Liteyears from Mischief Makers, and she'd fit in the game nicely. Sonic, however, has lame moves (lol spin and jump). >:(

well he was fun to play with in sonic: the fighters, perhaps they could use that as a base for his moves.

Yeah, I can't quite see Sonic in SSBB. I really hope to be surprised by some of the characters they bring out, though. Looking foward to Metanight and Zero Suit Samus. As for bosses, I don't know. Ridley would be a great deal of fun, but I would like to see things like Metroids appear every once in a while on levels like Brinstar, or whatever Metroid levels they put in SSBB. Stuff like that. Can't wait, can't wait, going to explode with anticipation.

Like I said a few pages back. They could just make up some moves for him. Captain Falcon and Shiek didn't have anything that could be considered for moveset before they appeared in the games.

And Sonic does have other moves.

Even setting his two fighting games aside, there's a few abilities in the adventure games that he could use in this.

Oh lordy. I just saw this link for the 'Smash Brothers Brawl beta version' the other night on vgcats.com. If you've seen the E3 trailer for Super Smash Brothers Brawl, then you should get a kick, or maybe a tickle, out of this impressive use of customizable characters. "Pikachu" and "Kirby" look hilarious, but Samus and [spoil:51498b387a]Snake. Snake! SNAAAAAAAAKE!![/spoil:51498b387a] look pretty accurate.

The polls closed yesterday so what Flame Buster posted is the final list.

I personally hope the Metroid Prime hunters don't get in over a series mainstay like Ridley. I personally think they're lame.

Yeah, I saw that too. Loved it.

And to add. Sakurai said that he would begin working exclusively on the game once the polls closed and that the development will be "closed", which I suppose means confidential.

Uh how about just Lucas? As cool as Claus is, implementing as character won't work. He'd either have to be a clone which would suck or pull his own moves from the game which would drop HUGE spoilers to everyone who hasn't played it yet.

I think Claus can wait until next Smash Bros. game. When everyone has gotten done with playing Earthbound 2/Mother 3.

They wouldn't be worried about Spoilers, as they usually expect people to go out and buy the games if they are interested. After all, Sheik is a spoiler for OoT is she not? Besides, it'll take some time for SSBB to be released in Japan, let a lone the US.

Yes, but OoT and Melee were released 3 years apart. I doubt Brawl will be released in 09.
