Wow, I've gotten a talking to from two people now. Laughing

[spoil:771a44c222]At any rate I guess I can deal with Dotarou's name change, but I really do prefer the original in this case. Moliarty sounds a little childish in my opinion.[/spoil:771a44c222]

Hmmm... interesting. I don't really mind translation changes in games. What bugs me is that Capcom seems to think that they have to change EVERYTHING. To the point that it gets kind of confusing. A lot of their changes seem unnecessary to me. Even using "Battle Network" instead of "EXE" was unnecessary in my opinion. Why not call "Mega Man X" "Mega Man: the Future" or something like that then? Don't most people association ".exe" with computers anyway?

Oh well, that's just my thoughts on the matter. I have to say, though, that in terms of translations, Square Enix >>>>>>>>> Capcom :p Even when you take some of Square Enix's flops into account. To this day, Capcom seems to make blunder after blunder in translations. Some that seem to harken to the good old 8-bit era when Engrish was rampant.

But I'm excited to get Battle Network 6 :D Even if I suck at the Battle Network games ^^;;

I know! MegaMan Battle Network <insert number here> <insert version here> is such a long freaking title! And if you're talking to someone who isn't familiar with the game series, you can't abbreviate. :grr:

Well some of those names just don't sound as almost good or as good as others. Like judgeman's, I know he has judgeman but [spoil:a14ae8a3ca]Prosecutor Ito[/spoil:a14ae8a3ca]? Isn't that a litle too much. (Was he even in law in the first place?)

I believe he was.

I mean, why else would he work at a court house, neh?

Ok then I never did play the game I was asking. But [spoil:a14ae8a3ca]Ito[/spoil:a14ae8a3ca] still seems a little weird. You think with a lawyer game out they could think of something.

Technically, the first 3 games in Japan were Battle Network Rockman.EXE. So it was Battle Network Rockman.EXE, Battle Network Rockman.EXE 2, and Battle Network Rockman.EXE 3. When 4 came out, they dropped Battle Network.

I looked at the MMBN6 Gregar instruction booklet and [spoil:31fc551bfc]ElecMan's operator's name is Ann Zap not Ann Elec[/spoil:31fc551bfc].

Well... [spoil:61f6276878]Ann Zap[/spoil:61f6276878] was expected. After all, that was the same for her husband. Razz ( [spoil:61f6276878] Count Elec -> Count Zap[/spoil:61f6276878] <- in tags just in case since it's the name change of a related character. [ I'm being careful. -_-; ] )

By the by, I've played through my Gregar game, and... [spoil:61f6276878]the mayor of Cyber City ( A.K.A. Saiba City) is named Mayor Cain... Was it like that in the original? After all, this is a reference to one of the characters in the Original MegaMan, right?[/spoil:61f6276878]

It also says [spoil:8c8d3f0982]"Mr. Ferry's" first name is "Al". Works for me.[/spoil:8c8d3f0982]

Also the super-generic girl character that Lan meets at his new school is called [spoil:8c8d3f0982]Alice[/spoil:8c8d3f0982], in case she had some sort of slightly meaningful Japanese name.

Did the generic girl in Lan's class at the ACDC school ever have a name? She talked to Lan in like 3 different BN gams and even supplied a request mission in BN2, I think.

Yes, the mayor and principal of Netto's school is indeed the one and only [spoil:e25162307b]Dr. Cain[/spoil:e25162307b] from the X-series. He is the (EXE6 Spoilers...duh)[spoil:e25162307b]doctor who created Falzer.[/spoil:e25162307b]
