I was wondering something about the Hokage's in Naruto, all of them have a title, First Hokage is the Shodai Hokage, The Fourth is the Yondaime Hokage, and Tsunade is something like the Gondaime Hokage, I was wondering if these followed aorder, and if there is some way of predicting what the Sixth, Seventh, and so on would be named.

Actually yes

Shodaime = first hokage

Nidaime = second hokage

sandaime = third hokage

yondaime = fourth hokage

godaime = fifth hokage

basically it goes like this... the first word in this case the words sho, ni, san, yon, and go are used as numbers... the daime part = Hokage.

So to give you an example

Roku = 6

Rokudaime = Sixth Hokage.

Really? I thought things like Sandaime and Yondaime mean Third and Fourth. Hokage is just ...Hokage? In episode 100, Tsunade said Godaime Hokage.

Aethos is partly correct, but daime doesn't mean Hokage. Each main shinobi village has a Kage (shadow), Mizukage (water shadow), Raikage (lightning shadow), Tsuchikage (earth shadow), Hokage (fire shadow), and Kazekage (wind shadow). The kage are identified by number, so for example most people call Tsunade the Fifth. The ____daime part comes from which number they are. eg: Japanese word for three (san)+daime=sandaime (third). I hope this makes sense.

I thought it was something like that. But isn't one "ichi" in Japanese?

Yeah, ichi is Japanese for one, but I think Shodai might be related to the fact he founded Konoha. I'm not sure though...

These titles surely reminds us of the royal titles, like king Carl VI Gustaf, queen Elisabeth II etc.

I looked it up in my trusty english/japanese dictionary, and shodai means "founder" or "first generation"

Meh well usually Godaime would be THE fifth... but well I guess I always felt that Fifth Hokage fit better... But yeah guess I was a bit wrong.
