Yes, you can use a Gamecube controller or something like that. I think the Wii may be released November 6, though I am not completey sure. The release date is not fixed so the release date I mentioned may be fake. _________________ Don't come here that much anymore, might come in to post every now and again. |

Okay, that was a little mean of me. Sorry. But using punctuation is a good thing. It'll make your posts easier to read.
No, the Wii is not out, but more new information is being released about it all the time. Game Informer recently mentioned something about certain internet-related programs for the Wii, although details about what they actually did were sparse. (I'm particularly intrigued about something called !!M, as there isn't even a clue about what it does in the name). Unfortunately, that Game Informer is at home, and I don't remember the names of the other mentioned things.
The ability to use Gamecube controllers has been confirmed for some time. I believe I've even seen an image of the Wii with the Gamecube control ports exposed on it. From what I've heard about Super Smash Brothers Brawl, it is played using the Gamecube controller. I'd be very surprised if Nintendo decided to change their minds about the controller, however, I guess there's still some possibility of it that we have to consider. After all, the Classic controller has already been seen, and Nintendo could take the money route: do away with Gamecube control compatability and make people get the other controller instead. In which case, we have a very important question to ask. What color will your controller be?
The release date is the most difficult thing to say right now. I've seen it as mid to late September, but I'd say the best estimate is early Autumn. Maybe mid-Autumn, but only if something goes very wrong. As long as the system works without glitches, the best thing Nintendo can do is get the Wii out as fast as they can, because they have the games to give it power. Well, they have to make sure that the way people download games works too. Actually, that'll probably be more of a problem than the system itself.
Oh, and no. It's not out yet. _________________ Church: Are you following any of this?

Though if it's for real, the name's not at all creative :eyes:
(turn "Wii" upside-down)
Anyway, Nintendo.jp has updated their release calendar page (it contains release dates for 3 months, the current month included), and the Wii isn't anywhere there yet. Mid-4th quarter of 2006 is the approximate release date.
A Jet-Black DS Lite's coming out on September 2, though _________________ TGS 2007:MISSED! T_T |

A jet-black DS Lite? *shivers* Ooooo. But getting a Lite isn't like getting an SP. The SP was a significant improvement on the Advance while the Lite only deals with minor concerns which I'd never had a problem with in the first place. *sigh* but a black DS would be so nice.
Anyway, whatever. If you were too go onto Wikipedia, there's quite a bit of info on the Wii, and plenty of info on games as well. _________________ Church: Are you following any of this?

The Wii is not coming out this year but next year at March 2007. I read from some game magazine(I forgot the name of it) saying that it will come out on some date of that in 2007, and it can use a gamecube controller. Andf I heard about 2 wii controllers too. |

I'm going to doubt that statement, given this article.
Even if it doesn't come out by the time the analysts project in that article, it stands to believe that they are on track to release it to the public in a few months, at most. _________________ Today, these three players are after Big Bucks! Also, 3 publishers have stated release dates for their games: October 11th, and the 18th.
The 18th also makes sense because it's the day the Famicom was released, and Nintendo likes doing those kinds of things.
November makes sense, but October makes more sense.
Sorry to double post, but I was gonna do this in my other post:
This is a quote from Orange Lounge Radio, a popular podcast/live show :D
Skie of OLR wrote: | On our show this past Sunday, our co-host LOKI came to us with new information that was added to the distributor database. This information involved Wii games from several third party publishers... Ubisoft, THQ and SNK. What's curious about this information is that it's 3 different companies all projecting around the same date:
October 11th, 2006
Chicken Little: Ace in Action (Ubisoft)
Metal Slug Anthology (SNK)
October 18th, 2006
Spongebob Squarepants: Creature from the Krusty Krab (THQ)
Avatar: The Last Airbender
While two of those games we've never heard of, the other two we have. The other two titles wouldn't be too surprising, either. (Edit: Wikipedia actually confirms three of the titles as launch titles). It's hard to pick a date between these two presented by the games, but we like October 18th. That's the anniversary of the launch of the original NES system. What an excellent way to debut the virtual console! It wouldn't be unheard of to have games on the market one week before the console launches... XBOX360 did it.
The game distributor (note: that's distributor, not a retail computer like EB games) information that we have come across in the past made us able to be the first to announce Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin and the trio of new DDR games, among others. We admit the game distributor information is not always 100% on the nose. Take for instance from that list the fact that Silent Hill: Original Sin was renamed to Silent Hill: Origins (which is still a working title, even). However, the database still confirmed the games mere existence, so we think it's worthwhile evidence. Release dates do tend to shift around all the time, but we have to admit that titles from 3 publishers all around the same date at once was too much of a coincidence for us to ignore. |
And that should have been NES, not Famicom. Sorry :D _________________ all i ever wanted was the world |
