I usually steer away from news about the games, but this is too interesting to pass up. The guys over at the Rockman UnderSquare are reving up a new project to create their own EXE7 (since it seems Capcom has ended the series officially at 6). They've got the groundwork laid down, but they're still looking for people to help out.
Even if you can't offer your services, check it out anyways. o/ They're off to a good start.

Hm..quite interesting. I hear Sketch is working on the spriting, no? Actually, that fan made game looks like it should be good. I wonder what it'll be like, and from the wallpapers, my guess is that Bass is back, but who are those other guys? Hmm...I wonder how long it's gonna take to make?
I hope it doesn't take as long as LoZ:Twilight Princess! >_< |

My, this is looking better than what I once thought it would look like...but I wonder, why is it called "Megaman Battle Network 7" Yet all the characters have their original names? o.o
But I must admit, that logo looks awesome. _________________ The time is come. Bid farewell to your bloodstained past.

Because it's made by English fans of the Japanese series? I guess making the name more accessible draws more people in or educates the players on the original Japanese games. More likely though they just preferred the Japanese names for the characters but wanted to call it MMBN7. _________________

It's certainly a bold project, and I can't think of any better people to spearhead such an undertaking. The concept so far looks quite nice.
Even though I know I cannot do anything to assist, I still wish them good luck in bringing this concept to life. _________________ Today, these three players are after Big Bucks! To be honest for gameplay yes, they're probably the best qualified but an all round game is an entirely different matter. I suppose that's why they're getting help but still, it's hard to say what will happen in terms of how the game itself is written. I might try out for the music position, I've wanted to compose VG Music and although it looks like I'd be arranging and or playing with formats and sound instead that's just as important to writing music electronically. _________________

The plan looks good so far.
Best part for me, though, is the inclusion of Shun. _________________

Looks interesting...the only thing I'm not crazy about is that they decided to shove Yaito and Enzan together, That's not really suggested at all in the game and only the Anime. Still, that shouldn't effect the plot or game in anyway. _________________

Seems like I'm not the only one who went and decided to do something that takes place after EXE 6. =P I also find it interesting that they'd take a little bit of the Anime elements and put them in this fan-made game. Although my version is different from this one, it'll be interesting to see how this plays out. ^^ _________________ ~スライダーちゃん~

REO has nothing to do with this project.
Please take anything over to TUS. _________________

Er... aren't these the kinds of projects that get slapped with a cease and desist order before long? I mean, I'm not a lawyer or anything... but I see all sorts of copyright laws getting broken here.
I remember a really cool 3D Chrono Trigger project a while back that got slapped with a cease and desist order by Square. Pissed a lot of people off since Chrono Cross had been such a mediocre sequel.
So... how's this game different?
Not that I'm saying I want that to happen, and I'm rather interested in seeing the finished product, but still... Well, I wish them luck at least. Sounds like it's gonna be cool. |

You don't have to worry about this. Fan games are fine to make as long as no profit is being turned up in the end. We are going to be distributing our game for free of course, so Capcom can't take any legal action against us unless we claim Rockman and its entities as our own original idea. Which we obviously aren't. |

Unless Capcom decides to do the cease and desist anyway. The Chrono Resurrection, which I assume is the Chrono Trigger project Shykid is referring to, was not supposed to be commercial either, but they got the C&D anyway.
Still, the TUS project looks promising~! Good luck with it. _________________
