there are some passwords for the first GBA game of B-Daman on gamefaqs for the JP version. I was wondering which japanese katana matches with which symbol in the picture below.
That way i can find out the codes for the US version.
(only difference is the jp version is at the beginning of the game with the bronz pass and the US after game with the gold pass)

Passwords from gamefaqs.com:
A TSU I HO NO O
HA GA NE NO A SHI
O O KI NA TA RU
U MI NO O KU RI MO NO
BA KU E N NO YA I BA
HA JI MA RI NO CHI KA RA
U NA RE A TSU I KA ZE
KA KU SA RE TA TSU RU GI
YA SE I NO TA KE BI
MI DO RI I RO NO GE N E I
TE N KU U NO KU RO I KA ZE
A TSU KI KA MI NO I KA ZU CHI
O SA KA NA DA I SU KI NI ya
MO U HI TO TSU NO A N KO KU

if someone could help, it would be appreciated.

I think that if you searched on google or wikipedia for a complete list of hiragana/katakana you could figure this out (really just mix and match).

As opposed to that, I guess I could list the symbols in order, left to right, top row to bottom.

Row 1) a, i, u, e, o, ha, hi, fu, he, ho, ga, gi, gu, ge, go
Row 2) ka, ki, ku, ke, ko, ma, mi, mu, me, mo, za, ji, zu, ze, zo
Row 3) sa, shi, su, se, so, ya, yu, yo, - (long sound), da, Could be Ji that is used rarely), zu, de, do
Row 4) ta, chi, tsu, te, to, ra, ri, ru, re, ro ba, bi, bu, be, bo
Row 5) na, ni, nu, ne, no, wa, (w)o, n pa, pi, pu, pe, po
small a, small i, small u, small o, small ya, small yu, small yo, small tsu, ! (this one's obvious)

Then the buttons are obvious. Modoru (back, return, etc.), owaru (end)
There. That should hopefully help you out, though I suggest taking a class. It's very helpful.

Katakana represent syllables, not a single letter.

Hope that helps. :P
