I'm a pretty big fan of GitS and flcl, as well as several others, but One Piece is my favorite series by a long shot. It manages a balance between humor and drama quite well, and the characters are very deep and well thought out. It's just overall a great series.

Naruto is, by far, my favorite. It has some genuinely funny scenes, and some of the fights can get pretty intense. My second favorite would have to go to One Piece.

My current faves for anime would be Haruhi, Bleach, and Negima. GiTS is a really good one, and of course, Evangelion is a major player in the anime world. One Piece is a great series, but I'd much rather watch the Japanese episodes, as the American dub pretty much ruined the series (in my oppinion). DNAngel is really good too!

Evangelion, still trying to make complete sense of the ending though.

Stream is by far, the best anime series because it has Slur in it. <3 (The ending sucked, but who cares?)

Silly Elec and your Slur obsession. n.n

Personally, I like the Rockman anime the best (though I don't exactly favor the dub too much). Otherwise it's gonna have to be Naruto.

Hm...that's a toughie.........I don't truly see how anyone could really like FLCL, way too random, but I like Naruto, Azumanga, Dragon Ball, Yu Yu Hakusho, FMA, and of course, good ol' RM.exe! ^_^

NGE.....really was a strange anime. I loved the Angel's designs, but they were the only true reason I watched it through -_-;

Naruto just has something special in it that just makes me love it, aside from the fillers, 101 and 193 FTW!, but I simply love that show.

Azumanga is just funny, my favorite phrase? "Oh my Gah!" :D

FMA was a beautifully put together anime.

Dragon Ball was good cause it didn't follow the same clich'ed path DBZ did, Bad guy appears, Gku beats him, dies, trains, new bad guy, Goku comes back, repeat.

Yu Yu Hakusho is a classic in my book, hands down a great series.

And of course, I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for RM.exe! :stonecube:

I really like the FullMetal Alchemist anime!! It combines humor with seriousness and has a killer storyline... the climax is so awesome!!

I also really liked DN Angel!! I just finished buying that on DVD the other day.

DBZ deserves a mention, it's the series that got me seriously hooked to anime.

And anything from Studio Ghibli goes with me!!

And I like (of course) Rockman anime... even though I've only ever seen the dub (stupid dial up >_<).

Something I'm looking forward to getting is the My-Hime series, which was only just released here in Australia!! I've seen the first episode and it looks really good!!

Naruto ...if you couldn't tell. I would like it more if it wasn't for the fillers. The show is angsty. Nearly EVERYONE has problems that makes them sad. Most of the time it involves death. They kind of overdid some of them. Iruka, Gaara, Haku, and that fish lady were all like Naruto.

So far, episode 19 is still the saddest episode I've ever seen. The battle between Gaara and Naruto is also my favorite and had a nice ending. The battle between Sasuke and Naruto would've been sooo much better if it wasn't filled with flashbacks. The best thing about it, of course, was the last part.

Best Anime ever? Personally, if Gash's ending wasn't like that, I would say that is the best. Raiku put all the angst and humor right where they should've been, and right where they would show the most emotion. Truly facinating.

But if I am going for the best anime all the way from beginning to end, then it's Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu. Simple. Haruhi is god. o/

My fav would be Full Metal Alchemist I guess... tho I like the manga so much better :p tho the movie was everything I hoped it would be :p

But... I do have to mention a few series :p I usually choose series based on their soundtrack, at least, that's usually why I stick with them. Rockman EXE is a series I like a lot largely because of it's soundtrack ...well, even tho none is released I can still hope :p Now that I think of it, most of the series I like a lot don't have their soundtracks released, or not completely.

Tantei Gakuen Q/Detective Academy Q: A lot of mysteries and brilliant ways of solving them :p and the BGM rules, but no soundtrack >___>

Alfred J Kwak: Dutch anime, well the idea and story were by dutch people and the execution was by Japanese animators and Anime News Network lists it as anime so it counts Smile Story about the life of a duck, but with rather realistic and serious matters like a sort of Hitler story, the melting of the ice caps and illegal immigrants, that sort of stuff. Great BGM (by a Dutch composer and recorded in the city I live >___> I hate that co-incidence) but only an extremely small portion of the music was ever released.

Uta~Kata is also one of my favs at the moment, but not because of it's soundtrack (which is good anyway, but not that good). It's because it has a lot of serious and shocking stuff for someone who is 14 years old. It's about a girl who meets another girl from a mirror and every episode she transforms with the help of a djinn. It sounds kinda lame, but when you get halfway the series (12 episodes + 1 useless OVA) you'll get hooked (at least I was).

And Dragonball is also a worthy mention, but only the dub and not DragonballZ or GT. A lot of original ideas and the Dragonball world itself is just brilliant :p

Favorite does not equal best.

Best anime I've ever seen is Cowboy Bebop. Favorite anime is Kyou Kara Maou.

By best I mean, animation, plot, voice acting, music, direction, and how all these fit together.

Doesn't mean it's my favorite though XD

I'd have to say either Cowboy Bebop or Inuyasha.... for good animation, nice voices that work well, and an overall clear plotline.

But as for my favorite.... Rockman and Chrno Crusade. Kyaa!

FullMetal Alchemist, I think.

I was almost afraid to watch it. The internet horribly declassified it. I was expecting it to be one giant angstball of animation, filled with morbid sullen and depressive characters and dark scenes. I only began watching it so I'd know how it started, at the very least. And I was so, so wrong about it. I'm glad.

It's beautiful. The characters are lively and endearing, and they have their serious sides, too. The world they live in is fictional and yet realistic at once. The realism in many of their troubles binds the series down. Corruption in power and wars... it's stuff that actually happens. The series is anchored down by its balance of serious and lighthearted happenings.

Worth a watch, honestly.

Well I guess my choice will have to be Ruroni Kenshin. I just loved how they would yell out there techniques beforehand.

There is no best anime...it's all opinions.

Rozen Maiden.

Very crisp and smooth animation + ok plot. The plot is that a man, Rozen, created 7 dolls that fell short of being "Alice", the perfect girl, "more sublime than any flower, purer than any jewel, without a single flaw." They fight each other to obtain each other's "Rosa Mystica" and when one gathers all 7, she'll become Alice and meet with their Father. It follows Shinku, the 5th doll and Sakurada Jun, her Medium(a source of power)

This anime has lots of comedy(Suiseiseki is made of WIN and DESU) and has a sequel -- Träumend and great soundtrack by ALI PROJECT. The plot is pretty solid and episodes have both humour and advancments.

I wish I could say the same about Mai Otome, but sorry; it is disjointed and has a cheesy ending. The animation is wonky at parts (but what can you get from from the creators of Gundam Seed? pfff.) and the plot is practically non-existant...

I actually don't watch it anymore, choosing to instead go with ones like Naruto and some of the deeper ones, but it was thanks to a veritech from Robotech and the show's run on cartoon network that actually got me into anime in the first place so I'll always recognize that as my personal favorite.

I'd choose the Rurouni Kenshin anime up to the end of the Kyoto arc. If they had animated the damn Jinchuu arc instead of making that horrid filler season then the anime would be one of the greats for sure.

I still hold a fondness for Dragonball though I no longer consider it the best. Though it's definately one of the most influencial anime/manga.

Wait... there WAS an anime made of Final Fantasy VII... so that would be my favorite by far. (<-- FFVII Obsessed!) It has great animation, and portrays each of the characters perfectly. (But duh it's going to, it's the anime! XD) It shows the relationship between Cloud, Zack, and Sephiroth, and Tifa's relationship with Sephiroth. (Lotsa relationships, ne?) That, and I'm just obsessed with Cloud! XD
