Beast+ 17. Attack of the talking spines (Spoilz0rs!)

This episode. Oh my god. The fighting was awesome!

And darn that Doctor Sashimi and his raw fish of doom. Yes, that's what I've decided to call the nameless doctor. Cause he's back and he's once again, chowing down on that rawness! I've no idea his new plot, but apparently Rock just fsked up and made him more powerful. Or something.

Summary from my eyes:
There's some kind of emergency, Zero's been spotted. I think. Everyone's running, Gutsman like "Holy hell, mysterious cloaked navi, come with me if you want to liiive." Cloaked navi IS Zero. Gutsy holds his hand, a fangirl has some yaoi reference, then Zero disappears all "omfg, friendship. It's like cooties." He...does some research or something. Then...

From what I can tell....I'm gonna go out on a wing here and say it's Dekao's birthday. Obvious sarcasm, because it's most definitely his birthday. Probably.

At first I thought his gift was a guide on making a new type of curry or something...then it flashes to what appears to be a hot bath...or maybe he wants to bathe in the curry like how some people bathe in oatmeal... (eww)

Now there's trouble! Omg! Netto Plug in! Funny, I think his plug in animation's been the same for the last few episodes, but for some reason he's all "YAY! PLUG IN TIME!" Weird...

Gutsman and Rock are fighting against Zero...whom is attacking...a building? You'd think Guts would notice Zero's that navi from earlier, but whatever.

Chips are used, most miss. Invis time! Ohnoz! Zero blasted Rock with some kind of...beam of light thing. Knocks Rock from invis.

Program Advance Time! Dream Sword'd! Rock's holding it to Zero's face. Zero's like "Damn..." And then for some reason says "Gutsman..." or something. And Guts comes over. Oh, NOW he realizes that's the guy from earlier.

The dream sword attack must've hit that building, cause now Doctor Sashimi's all "Yay I winz!" Netto looks morbid and so does Rock. Apparently some kind of schematic of Zero flashes on the screen, then Doctor Sashimi Hahaha-ing, then his...ship? Is that a ship? Whatever it is, it looks dangerous. Well, seems like it's about time the episode ended. Now it's monkey time! (AKA, the episode has ended and Ape Escape has begun)

Sooo, what did you guys think? Nifty, huh?

Ah, how cute. Rockman and Zero became friends.

I find it funny that it was Gutsman of all people whom made Zero think and ponder friendship. Then he made some long ass speech about his 'heart, soul, whatever (kokoro means heart, soul etc).

Fighting was nice. Not as good as 16s, but the aerial clashing of swords was pretty cool.

As for the Professor, all I have to say is WTF.

Happy Birthday Dekao! Let's celebrate!...where you work. You can have some cake, but only once you get back in the kitchen and make me some curry!! Laughing

Nice mostly fluid fight scene again. But I don't wanna even think about or know what was up with Dekao's gifts. Fits him, but ewwww. Kinda wonder where all those evil viruses disappeared to once Gutsy ran into Zero. Weren't they ready to cause havoc just a second ago? Aargh, there's Gutsman, let's get outta here! It'll be interesting to see what this giant floating battery/death ray is going to do next week, as the main plot starts to pick up again. Overall, another nice eppy.

Someone on Wiki apparently knows Japanese, for Zero.exe's entry has been expanded to cover this ep.

Zero was, of all things, intending to give that glowy energy ball that was in the thing he destroyed to Gutsman as a birthday present. You may all go awww now. He had also never felt a navi's touch before.

I think he was with the viruses because he is, after all, a virus himself. He probably felt more comfortable around them then around navis.

I wonder how the Professor's ship is staying up in the air. I can see no engines or propellers on that thing, and repulsorlifts are still a couple hundred thousand years away. But for now, I've officially dubbed it The Flying Cigar.

Yeah...Zero wanted to give the energy ball to Gutsman. I figured it out when after Zero's mini-speech, everybody was like "So that's what he was doing..." and Gutsman was "That's so touching!!!"

Now...I called the Professor's ship The Flying Ice Cream for idiotic reasons.

First, I'm a geek, so when I saw the ship I thought "Hey, that's a HUGE ass CAPACITOR!!!" How did "capacitor" become "ice cream"? Well...My brother used to call capacitors "ice creams" because to him, they reminded him of ice cream.

So...I dub the ship The Flying Ice Cream and NO complaints! >:F

Oh, and by the way...Zero x Gutsman is canon now. Now watch as places like FF.net become flooded with Zero yaoi XD.

It was a nice episode. Dex'es birthday so they get him curry cookbooks. He also makes a curry cake. And gutsman and zero have a friend moment.
Plus the professor is pale and ugly. And since bass isn't going out as much, zero borrowed his cloak.

I liked this episode. It had a lot more story than sillyness. I still wanted to see Blastman though.

It was a very cute episode, but now, it's nit picking time! The only error I saw was when Netto slotted in wide sword for the first time, not for the P.A., it was the Muramasa blade. :puku:

Other than that, it was cute. Is it just me or does Zero look like Forte in that cloak? :!

This same animator has been drawing Yaito since Axess, so it has nothing to do with that. And it's not just height that has been altered with her design; she's generally less girly and more stumpy than before, her eyes aren't slightly curved (to that "meaner" look) anymore, and her dress doesn't have ripples anymore either. In fact, she looks exactly like they used to draw her in the original EXE...
