So, right. Well I have to make this topic becuase I am in the process of making some remixes of MMBN songs. Why? Because I like to. That's it, that's all you're getting from me!
But first I have some FANMUSIC. That's right, I have some fan music, this is made for a Fangame. I thought it was fitting for a boss/navi battle thing. I kinda took some ideas from the MMBN 1 and 2 battle themes. This isn't a very big Mp3 about 2 MB so I think it should be safe for you dial-up people out there.

...Holy...crap.... This. Is. Awesome!!
I mean, really, you say you took ideas from the MMBN 1 and 2 battle themes, but it's done well that I can hardly tell it's "borrowed".
Do you take requests? If so, can you do a "remastered" version of the MMBN 6 Boss theme?
Again, incredible work. ^_^ |

Yes... I do take requests.
However, I don't know if I could do a remastered version of the MMBN 6 boss theme, in this manner.
I am in the process of arranging the MMBN1 Boss theme and Life virus theme for electric guitar and bass and such. You know rock, but I should get back to playing MMBN 6... I just never got around to it, becuase I haven't bought it.
I'm a poor musician man! XD
Thanks, by the way. _________________ Though some would contest the point that the words I have spoken mean naught, I choose to believe that the words I do speak will reach the souls of all those who choose to internalize their message. Such is with my music, my voice and my own heart.

If you want to do a rock remix of it, that's fine as well. And I don't believe for a second that you're a poor musician man. XD |

That's a pretty nice cover of the BN1 boss theme. Not sure how many mixes you've worked on before or what kind of soundfont programs you're using, but both your main and backing guitar work sound pretty good. I personally think you could get away with more guitar rather than that high-pitched circusy flute soundfont you use from :35-:47 and 1:13-end, but maybe that's just me liking guitar over more electronic sounding things (look at me pretend I really know what I'm talking about since I don't play any instruments, but frequent many VG remix sites!).
Keep up the good work, and if you're thinking of a different BN song to remix/cover in a rock style, I've always thought Tournament Battle from BN4 would make a great hard rock/electric guitar song. Not neccesarily a request, just an idea I thought I'd throw out there. _________________ Avatar art thanks to toberboobap, animated gif thanks to Dr. Wily II

Well, using the same link as last time, I am proud to annouce the completion of the MMBN 1 Boss Battle Theme Rock Remix. Is it finished though? No. This is as close to the final form you will get without waiting awhile as I take some time to do some more mixing and listen to it with fresh ears. I hope you enjoy this, as I put quite a bit of effort into it (all day really.)
When it is mastered, I will show it to you all again, and it will be worthy of commercial use XD

I've been searching around for stuff to do something like this. I'm a music student myself, only not composition; I'm a performance student. Can you tell what programs you use for this kind of composition because I'd *love* to be able to do something like this! I've got notation programs but they're targetted towards classical composition.
Alternatively if it's easier to point me to a website you can do that too!
As for the tune, it's quite catchy. It's got a simple melody which is of course, a very powerful motiff for something such as a video game. The bass raises an issue for me though. If you are attempting to duplicate how it would sound out a GBA or DS, I think the bass is a little too strong; it's very overpowering when it's hitting the low notes. If you're doing it as if it was part of a sound track, then it's not an issue. _________________

Well, Links I do not have, and I do not know what exactly you are looking for! However, search for FL Studio, or Sonar (which is what I use)
As far as the bass goes, I wasn't intending to be just like the soundtrack, I was intending to be like me! And I <3 heavy bass. But that's just me.
Also, I finshed it! It's the same link as always but now it is completely done!

Man, now I wish I would've saved that last edit you did so I could compare them. I could be wrong, but this finalized version now sounds even more muddled. I had to crank my treble up full blast until the guitar sounded more natural. At first I wasn't sure about that synth again, but it sounded cool to me...when I had my treble cranked up. To each his own. I think you did a nice job shrinking it from...what, was it like 6 minutes long?...to this, while keeping your more original shredding and not being too repetitive with the main song. It definitely feels like a remix now, as opposed to my cover comment when you first started. Arrangement wise, great job. Keep rockin' Cyril! _________________ Avatar art thanks to toberboobap, animated gif thanks to Dr. Wily II

Wow...the Guitar parts are a little out of tune. It's too close to the original pitch to do that kind of thing to someone who is familiar with the original music. I reccomend if you're going to tweak the pitches like that you transpose it to a different key. Other than that I enjoyed the difference in feel between the various sections! _________________

What do you mean? I don't understand what you mean.
Outside of that, I didn't tweak the pitchs.... at all. And I didn't want to transpose it, becuase it gave it a different color than the original, and staying in the same key is one of the things that makes it more discernable as that tune. (Like rather than the Life Virus theme. Wow, nice job. I'm kind of an audiophile myself and I gotta say, your original work with the fangame music really fits the whole MMBN style. I love it, seriously. Though, it is not complete... spice it up a little in the middle, I think, and it'll really shine.
But, seriously, great job. You're pretty good at this. |

The parts where the Guitar has the melody are flat, have a listen to the original and you'll hear what I mean. _________________

That may be true... I need to run it through an auto tuner, the only reason this is true was becuase I was using a two-octave pitch shifter on a bass to play the melody, because my guitar is not good for playing melody! Sorry for the double post, but I don't see an EDIT button.
Click on the same like, mainly for HiKaizer, it will have only really one change to it, and that is the melody is "in tune" I didn't notice, but now I do! Gonna have to be patient, I will try to get it all nice and done with, but I need to get new strings for my guitar. I broke one the other day, and it nearly killed me! _________________ Though some would contest the point that the words I have spoken mean naught, I choose to believe that the words I do speak will reach the souls of all those who choose to internalize their message. My goodness it's another remix of sorts! (Sorry DL, it's not Surge of Power)
It's the Life Virus theme, remixed! I made this for a fangame, as my music production for them had been very low recently. Tell me what you think!
