There are so many anime/manga out there. Do you have any favorite anime or manga that you read/watch? You can post them here. Also it it's not so well know or not commonly watched you can give a description of it. |

My favorite manga thus far are xxxHOLiC and Fruits Basket. Whether these are well known or not, I'm not sure, so I'll give a brief description.
xxxHOLiC (pronounced "holic") is about a young man named Watanuki who can see spirits. One day he stumbles into a special shop owned by a mysterious lady named Yuko Ichihara, who offers a way to remove Watanuki's ability in exchange for something. It ends up that Watanuki will work fo her until Yuko considers it equal to the "weight" of his wish. I should also mention that xxxHOLiC is the sister series to Tsubasa Chronicles, and the two series is the way Clamp will compile all their works into one multiverse.
Fruits Basket mainly revolves around a girl named Tohru Honda, an orphan whose kind of ditzy yet kind beyond words, and her involvement in the Sohma family, where several members are cursed to transform into one of the animals in the Chinese Zodiac.
I like both of these series for the fantasy element, the character development, and the humor used throughout each series. |

I just saw Ninja Ryukenden. It's one 50-minute episode loosely based off of the Ninja Gaiden/Ryukenden games, but it's very good if you don't mind excessive violence and blood. It isn't a retelling of the Ninja Gaiden games, although it has some elements and characters from the games.
And there's my favorite: Captain Tsubasa. A soccer anime that focuses more on coolness rather than realism. _________________ War may not be the right answer, but when you're in one, ending it effectively and with positive results is a must. Vote John McCain for U.S. President.

Well, a short shojo series (5 volumes) that might be nice is Imadoki! Nowadays. Another (semi-shojo) series that has ___ volumes I've just begun to read, up to vol. 9. It's called 'Negima : Magister Negi Magi' and it's funny. ^^; Though if you aren't into borderline mature (Basic nudity) then maybe you shouldn't pick it up.
Personally, I'm really into xxxHolic and Chrono Crusade, Fruits Basket, Shaman King, Bleach, Trigun... There are so many nice manga you can read I'd have trouble just picking a few. Dragon Ball Z and Rurouni Kenshin recently ended, they were very good Shonen Jump titles.
Megaman/Rockman mangas, if you're reading the Takamisaki ones you're all set. They rock. :D If you can understand Japanese or just don't care about translation, I'd advise ordering the Megamix, the art style is really something.
DNAngel is popular, and funny. It's got an interesting plotline and humor. Yuyu Hakusho is a really nice series I've been into for years, and if you want to try Pokemon/Digimon, good luck. I can't find any very good Digimons and I can't find any Pokemons anywhere.
Inuyasha is popular and very long. It's also got a solid storyline. One Piece is funny and... strange. Ginga Densetsu Weed is becoming steadily more popular, and it's a nice series, one of the few good mangas with animal characters.
Some titles coming out in the US that are promising are Reborn! and Buso Renkin.
Basically, you have multitudes of manga stories to choose from, and what you read will probably be defined by your personal taste. If you need any advice based on what you've read/enjoyed so far, just mention. ^^ _________________ .the.strong.survive. |

I heard an anime called Hana Gimmick(sp?)
It's a shojo that even made a Junior guy cried IN CLASS. That was scary. If it's powerful on him, I think you would enjoy it.
Beware of massive sadness on volume 7/8.
...wait, how many volumes are there in Rurouni Kenshi? _________________

Well, firstly, I reccomend Rockman. xD
Then there's Gungrave, which I have not watched but I absolutely love the storyline concept and art. There's also the really big anime/mangas that have huge fanbases, including DN Angel, FMA, Naruto, Inuyasha (which I DO NOT reccomend), and One Piece. I particularly like One Piece for its humor and especially different characters. n.n
As for manga for more mature audiences (because it has violence and crap like that), I would suggest Samurai Deeper and Saiyuki. _________________

Detective Conan. I wish I could read this more often, because I adore it. It's known as Case Closed in English and already has...I think, almost 20 volumes out (out of 4 million), plus a few DVDs. There's also a place online called Manga Viewer that does scanslations of the original manga, but I'm not sure if they have it anymore XD; But it's a read if you like mystery series ^^ Good story too, at least by my opinion. _________________

28. And the last one was just released in July.
Anyway, I'd recommend Kenshin since it's such an entertaining and sometimes thought provoking series. Watsuki's artwork (especially during battles) is just a joy to look at. I suggest reading the manga first since it's the better entity (certain story elements are more fleshed out than they are in the anime). As for the anime I recommend the first 2 seasons (Wandering Samurai and Legend of Kyoto) as after Legend of Kyoto the series delves into average to bad filler without ever completing the canon story (at this point you should start reading the manga since it does contain the last part of the canon series). |

Good anime: The melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.
I've only seen one episode and I'm hooked. And the episodes are subbed :E _________________ The time is come. Bid farewell to your bloodstained past.

I'd have to recommend One Piece and Bleach. Both blend humor, interesting fighting and great storytelling. One Piece is currently on it's best arc yet, Bleach while on filler can actually do great filler unlike some other series. I'd say give both the anime and manga a try on both series. |

A good Romantic Comedy would be Ouran High School Host Club. Most guys don't tend to give it a chance because it's shoujo, but it's got very good comedy and lots of things that will probably make you double-take.
I guess I can give a bit of a story. One day, highschool freshman Haruhi goes looking for a quite place to study and stumbles upon an abandon piano room. Haruhi finds, however, that this place is actually occupied by the host club, after being harrassed a bit, Haruhi breaks a vase worth quite alot of yen that was to be used as an auction later, and so, must pay duties by being the Host Club's "lapdog" doing chores and stuff for them until the debt is payed off. After a while, they find Haruhi has a natural nack for charming girls, which is one of the purposes of the Host Club. They guise Haruhi up in the school's uniform and is given the task of having to gather customers to pay off the dept.
And well, this is done without any spoilers.. if you are interested in seeing the series I recommend the entire first episode before you judge it XD _________________ http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?ref=profile&id=100000142872316

I'd reccomend a couple good titles. Cardcaptor sakura is a really good shojo one, sailor moon is good, galaxy angel is another good one and the manga angel/dust was also very good. _________________
