you make a bunch of sprites, then use a program that will animate them. it's not all that hard, really. unless of course, you can't get the sprites to line up correctly. i had that problem once.

Can you please tell me a good program for doing that?

Was is GIfConstruction? Cuz thats what I use... I'm still using the trial-run and it really doesn't make any difference because it doesn't have any side effects other than some annoying crap that comes out when it starts up...

In other news... It seems like I get sidetracked way too often... or perhaps I just got too bored with just doing my DSBlues sprite... In any case, I decided to revamp another one of my older sprites... Zero.EXE

Can't really decide which head looks nicer... so please give feedback as to use which one... once I finish my DSBlues, I'll probably either go on to this one, or some other things I have planned...

Oh... and if you want to see the old sprite:

funny, i thought i replied to this topic. guess not.

no, that's not the animating program i had. it's been a while and i don't remember what it was.

about the Zero sprite: the hair kinda puts me out (why do i always have a problem with the hair in your sprites?). the original EXE Zero sprite you had had better hair to me. at least the shape of it was better.

personally, i like the second head better. it reminds me of Custom Robo *drifts off remembering good times of playing Custom Robo*

eh... well the main problem with the first hair was that it was just a really bad edit of Colonel's cape, so i decided to give it a more realistic look, after using a screenshot of him as a guide... Not to mention that I would have to construct a custom hair/cape anyway since [spoil:ac8ccb966a]EXE6 Colonel[/spoil:ac8ccb966a] sprite's cape only goes up to his arm...

Oh and if anyone haven't figured out yet, my new Zero.exe is a custom of [spoil:ac8ccb966a]ColonelEXE6[/spoil:ac8ccb966a] sprite, just like how my old one is a custom of Colonel's sprite

Edit by Sketch: Mark Spoilers please...your base is a major spoiler.

Ah... been in hell and back... finally finished the basics of my DSBlues

Seriously, despite all the time I had in order to do this, I ended up rushing it and screwing up on some of the sprites... so the later done sprites (the ones near the bottom) are technically slightly worse than the ones on top... oh well, can't be helped... I didn't feel like waiting for more free time since I'm always stuck with school work... and waiting till June is just too long a wait...

The run-down:
Okay... I'm pretty sure any one of use who checks in Sprites Inc would know the main base of the sprite (its not like I haven't mentioned it yet). But just if someone don't feel like looking back the pages, the base is
[spoil:6ab2395548]Blues/Protoman from EXE6. As for why I chose it, its because the hair is done nicer than its predecessor, allowing me slightly easier and better job with it. Oh and the transformation sprites are from Rockman/Megaman's Beast Out in EXE6[/spoil:6ab2395548]

The top line consist of the transformation into DSBlues... nothing special... but took me a hell lot of time to edit it from its base..

The second line consist of standard pose and teleport... Now I was a bit lazy here, so instead of the regular teleport that looked like strips, I simply semi-transparented it...

The third line is sword swinging sprite... which was featured in the preview animation I had on page 2...

The fourth is the... uh... special ship thingy hand swing... which is basically the sword swing with no sword... found commonly on playable character sprites since EXE4

The fifth and sixth consist of the buster, which was done a lot better than the old sprite (in my opinion). I shaded the purple thingy and replace the pinkish lines with pinkish sparks/lightning (which is what it really was, I just didn't have enough skills back when I made my original sprite)

The seventh and eighth consists of getting hurt, getting stun, and some extra stuff that were found on the base than I converted into a DSBlues look...

Below the battle sprites are the recolored mugshots of Blues from:

[spoil:6ab2395548]EXE6[/spoil:6ab2395548]

Finally, on the bottom are various chips (for that matter, all the ones that I could find) that featured Blues... There is a spoiler:

[spoil:6ab2395548]You guessed it! The lowest middle one is from EXE6[/spoil:6ab2395548]

Oh and this sprite sheet is not completely done... I still have some other stuff I have to finish, such as overworld, other chip sprites that I'm gonna convert to DSBlues (the ones I have left doesn't feature Blues at all, instead, they featured Rockman and some others, so they are gonna take even longer to finish) and the [spoil:6ab2395548]PET Mugshots from EXE4.5[/spoil:6ab2395548]... which is a lot... but I'm too tired to care about those right now...

Edit: I just notice that my width is a bit oversized... sorry about that... but I'm a bit too lazy to change it right now, maybe when I get the time...

Edit2: Nevermind that... I had nothing to do for that minute... so heck... might as well as fix the width... Should be better now...

Edit3: Damn... this is like the third edit... and all within like 5 minutes... forgot that Paint don't know how to save Gif... so I had to "re-transparent" the whole thing with my animation maker... and to think my troubles were over by just finishing the basics...

I prefer the second head on the revamp Zero.
How long did you do that sprite sheet? You are so patient for doing that *thumbs up* .

I'm going with N-20 on the Zero thing. He looks cooler.

As for Dark Protoman...I can't think of anything to say. It is absolutely wonderful, and to have the patience for the actual sheet...

Great job Blazer-X Keep it up!

Ok... I know its been a very very very long time... and I also didn't really sprite anything over the course of the summer, unlike what I originally intented... mostly because I got into modding RTS and FPS games (or more accurately, trying out other people's mods), which took up most of my time. And now, school is also starting, which would really take most of my time away... Not to mention that while I wasn't very active, I've seen others stealing my sprites... Therefore, I probably won't make any big progress anytime soon...

Now... after reading that, one might say that I'm uttering BS because this isn't an update... but it is, I just want to show a sprite sheet that I worked on a long time ago that I never quite found the time to finish... And here I present you:

If you can't figure what that is, go play the MMZ games.

Now that's cool although that double post was a thrown in (I'm sure it was an accident).

I think he should be known as Original Zero.EXE. The story behind him could be like this:

Original Zero existed back in the days when Cyberworld was still young(of course, he was simply called Zero back then). O. Zero fought as a top Official Navi - the best in the force. He was one of the key Navis in defeating and sealing Alpha within the Guardian Program.

One day, Zero just dissappeared and no one has heard from him and a long time. Many believed he fought against Bass and was deleted; others believed he just became too old. The truth is that Wily found Zero and eliminated him. Wily used most of his data to create the Zero.EXE we all know.

Some who have met him (after the Zero Virus incident), and lived throught the first Alpha incident believe that the Original Zero still exists within him.

That is pretty cool. A good sprite sheet. I think he'd be the virus zero as a navi. Or close to my idea of how to make protoman.exe into zero.exe.
