Yeah butch hartman also does danny phantom but that still has episodes left.
He really liked working on both shows. I saw pictures of the save danny thing at new york. I know of a guy who works at disney.

Danny has one full season left. The cancellation for both of Hartman's shows was announced at the same time, but the third season of DP will be going ahead as planned, whereas Oddparents was cut right after the episode they were producing at the time.

Any reasoning why? Or is it just "time" for the shows to end?

Normally shows on nickelodeon are cancelled because moms think it has too much action and is way too cool for their kids.

At least, that's my opinion :-/

They didn't really state any reasoning, so I can't say.

Most Nickelodeon shows last about three years. I know for a fact that "Legends of the Hidden Temple" was cancelled just because it had been on for three years and someone decided that was enough. (It was a good show, darnit! :grr: )
I went to the Nick Studios in Florida when I was younger... Our guide asked, "What was the first show to use green Slime?", and my brother and I were the only two in the room who knew. (Biiig cookie to anyone who can name it!! :D )
I was hoping Danny Phantom would stay around for a while, it makes me sad that a show I've just gotten into is going off the air. I think Oddparents has been getting progressively less funny, and... well. So long as Avatar gets to finish, I don't really care what Nick does. All their shows now are live-action-pree-teen junk.

AAANYWAY. I don't think a petiton has any hope of bringing Megaman back. We didn't really expect it to get dubbed and shown in the first place, right? I will agree that the editing kinda stinked, but I really don't see why people complain so much about voice acting... Talk to a little kid! They don't all sound like 5-year old girls.
(I believe that people sometimes think japanese voice acting is "omg teh best!" because they don't speak japanese and can't really tell if it's good or not. I've been watching subtitled stuff for yeaaars and am only now beginning to recognize voice actors in different shows, which is something I love to guess at (and am good at) in American cartoons.)

And that's the joke answer for all shows that get cancled. The annoying joke answer.
(and in my last post I meant nick, I have no idea how I put disney.)

Oddparents went completely down the toilet in the last two seasons, and while I really love the show, I'm glad to see it stop before it can be further slaughtered. I hate to be a Hartmanophile but everything was so much better when he was directing (i.e. Fairy Idol and the earlier seasons.) Danny on the other hand just keeps better and better, and I'm thankful that it'll have a proper ending instead of production just being halted.

As for the green slime...first time I ever saw it was in Guts...and You Can't Do That On Television aired on Nick at one point, but wasn't a Nick show, so it doesn't count. XP

I've heard that Nick is one of those who have adopted the 65 Episode Policy.

I always thought it was kind of stupid, myself.

Yeah, the Disney Channel has that same policy, which is why a lot of their more popular shows, like Lizzie McGuire, were cancelled, regardless of their success. But recently, it seems fan cries have kept certain shows on the air passed the 65 episode limit, such as Kim Possible and That's So Raven. It's a dumb policy, really. They impliment it because they want to always have room for fresh, new shows... but, c'mon, if a show is raking in money, then why don't you keep it on the air and cancel the less-popular shows? That's how the rest of the universe does it.

I can see the logic behind their reasoning; take, for instance, the American version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?

When it first debuted in 1999, it was an immediate hit. It garnered some of the top ratings and devoted fans. To that end, ABC decided to stuff the game show into more and more slots in primetime. In its height, it was shown 4 times a week, with no signs of stopping.

However, as we know, all good things must come to an end. By the fall, interest waned, and ABC realized that it had oversaturated the viewing public. By relying on that hit as the sole ratings winner, it didn't have time nor attention to devote to developing other shows, and when the game show crashed soon after, there was a dearth of new programming to take its place. This is the primary reason that NBCs recent hit game show, Deal or No Deal, is on hiatus, since June, until this month.

So, it seems that the policy is there as a defensive measure against oversaturating the time slots, though I have to admit that 65 is rather arbitrary for a limit. Why not 120? Or 169? Or any other integer?

That was my main reasoning, because 65 is such a small number. I agree with your other points.

That was the last episode? I saw that one. It was kind of strange though. I thought that nick was showing reruns of fairly oddparents. I guess not then

They are showing reruns. But there won't be any more new episodes.

Really, instead of asking for it to show again, why not ask for the rest of the series (Stream, and so on) released in uncut DVDs? Wouldn't that be much better, rather than to watch it on the TV and have everybody complaining about it?

And instead of petition, it'll be so much better to have everybody write a letter, submit it, and then send a crapload of them to the studio. Demanding fanmails > petition.

I guess both would be equally good, but why does everyone hat the dub so much?! I liked it. It wasn't that bad.
I guess fan letterds would be good, because I think that's what people did last time to get it back on.
But, I didn't make this petition,so I don't know if people are actually gonna sign it.

:O I like the dub. In fact, I prefer it muchly over the original. Razz

Fan letters could definately work better. Count me in on writing one! Buut, maybe we should write to Toonami Jetstream instead? After all, don't you think it'd be right to 'remind them' that they said they'll show it? >D *brick'd*

According to Tv.com, CW will be starting a cartoon block every Saturday as of September 23.

Though that may be true, and that has been known for quite some time already, note the conspicuous absence of any anime of any sort. Even their mainstays, Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh! have gotten the axe in favor of more original programming. Although Kids' WB remains intact, the dubbed anime was torn asunder.

This is not a good sign for a return to the CW for anime. However, there may be the possibility that the anime may eventually return. Only time will tell.
