I was wondering when someone would notice that. I like the voices. I think they work fine for a teenage character and whatever age rukia is. JYB's ichigo voice is way different then his renton voice on eureka 7.

The thing about dub voices, at least to me, is that they sound so typical. I suppose that's bcause a lot of dub actors voice in more than one anime.

Hey, at least it isn't 4Kids. They have the same actors for everything. Plus there's the whole sonic game to anime thing.

After seeing the first dubbed episode, I'm glad to say that they kept the opening and closing intact, and voiced the characters fairly well. It still feels a little too much like I'm listening to Vash when I hear Ichigo, but his VA still does great. The voicing and timing for some reason remind me a lot of Full Metal Alchemist, and Masa Hughes. I've heard some complaints that they tried too hard to sound like the Japanese seiyuu, saying names like Kon and Karin with strange accents, but I don't think it's too bad. I just wish they had left "Shinigami" intact, or called them death god/goddesses.

So far, from what I see, it seems like a above-par dub. I'll just have to wait to see this further.

I think it was done fine. Just like naruto(minus a catch phrase as nasueum).
And just remember, 4Kids' One Piece dub. It could be worse.
I liked it. But I think the OP and ED were sped up for time. No problem though. But that hoshi boki (the one with all the squads) is going to sound really fast.

Well, Mugen, in the manga's englishifying by VIZ, they translated Shinigami as soul reaper.

And I agree. The whole over pronunciation thing threw me off. Razz

Seriously. I almost fell off the couch. Not that it was bad or anything, it just caught me off guard.

Also, Ichigo's voice..hmm...maybe I'm just way too used to Justin Cook (Yusuke from YYH) and Vic Mignogna (Ed from FMA). It was good. Razz

I thought the dub was better then I anticipated, they used the original terminologies for the most part and the script only deviated a few times.

you're talking about 'over-announciation'? Ever since Cardcaptors had those complains following about the pronounciation of the names. So it's not uncommon, I expected it. It's not overly done at all... but it's also not poorly done. XD

I think the voices sounded really well, the script didn't deviate much less that it had to be localized for us. It was mostly a literal translation >>

The OP and ED weren't sped up, really... but the ED did have the credits roll by really fast compared to the video. XD It seems alot shorter on the TV than as a download for some reason XD

I thought it was excellent, Bosch did an excellent job as Ichigo, he hit it on the nail when he called the hollow and ugly bastard. I personally think soul reaper sounds way better than death god, as technically shinigami in Bleach have no control over who dies and who doesn't, they just carry out orders.

Also, Isshin's voice was great. Can't wait for his good morning Ichigo line. :O

We also heard Kon's voice at the end. I think it sounded great compared to his origional voice.

Ichigo's voice is done by former Black Power Ranger Johnny Yong Bosch he's a very good VA..

Yeah that's him alright. He also does a lot of other animes and he plays in a band.
