Wii got a release date!

There's two things that are true, No one likes Gamefaqs(or the people on gamefaqs). (no offense) And the Wii will be awesome. I will be getting one. But first, a DS Lite.

Two rather amusing console-price-related things I saw today:

First was a comic strip by Penny Arcade rather accurately, if extremely, describing the reactions to the Wii's price...

The second was a Playstation magazine I was browsing through during my lunch break. Someone wrote in to defend the PS3's $600 price by declaring to all the "losers" out there that they should get "actual jobs", claiming that he gets paid "$200 a month washing dishes" and that after two months he's already saved up enough for the PS3. He also declared that most "adults" get paid $500 a week, so that everybody complaining about the price should shut up and get a job.

...Was one of the most entertaining things I've ever read.

I've got enough money to buy a PS3 at launch. It's not about not having the money for most people. Its about being unwilling to dump $600 into a gaming console with few to no games they want to play.

The Wii is affordable, and has more games I am interested in, so that's what I'm getting.

I did some reading up on Twilight Princess and they said that Link was going to be right-handed.

Please tell me this isn't true.

They did say that every Zelda game features a different Link and Zelda.
They'd only be making that fact concrete by making TP Link right-handed.

But I think the TW Link in the Smash Bros trailer was left-handed. :/

So..... 600 dollars or 250 two days later? Tough choice. And both my parents make more the 6 hundred each paycheck. Hey, I worked with my dad once in his last job and made 200. But that's not the point of course. It's 600 dollars. I can get a computer for 600. That's mostly the point. It's the sheer amount of money. That's it.

Technically, all gaming consoles are computers. The PS3 and Wii are more of a computer because they have web browsers. Like I said somewhere before, it depends on what you're going to use it for. If you waste $600 and only use it for 1 thing, then it's just not worth it. I bought my laptop for $1200 and I'm using it for many things. Worth it.

People have had since E3 to save up money for the PS3, if they wanted it. That's a lot of time. If they wanted the PS3 (and I know lots of people did before they announced the price), they would've started saving instead of complaining. Even saving $7 a week isn't bad. Just a matter of patience.

Did they mention how many Wii's there will be at launch yet? November will surely be a busy month for all of us. I'll be spending roughly more than $300 on PS3 games and 1 XBOX360 game, assuming they're all $60. If some PS3 games really cost $100, then it won't bother me too much. I save $30 a week on my gaming stuff, I already have $460 saved.

well link has to be right handed to incorporate the control scheme, since more people in the world are right handed that means it'll be more of the world that will be able to play twilight princess with more consistency.

imagine swinging the wiimote in your right hand and the character reacting with the other. It'd be akward, it's necessary, life goes on.

I don't mind Link being left-handed or right-handed, but if what Kupo said is true about why Nintendo made him that way, they better put a left-hand/right-hand switch somewhere in the game, being one of the lefty myself.

Or I have nightmares dreaming me swinging the Wii control with my right hand and then fling it to the TV. >_>;

My thoughts exactly, Synchro-kun. Nobody ever makes allowances for the lefties.

Besides, I'm sure lots of gamers will want a left-handed Link. It's one of the things that makes him Link.

I may be missing something somewhere along the line...

But wasn't it either confirmed or implied years ago that Link is ambidextrous?
Either way, this isn't the first time Link's used his right hand. I recall something about this being brought up somewhere else years ago.

To AMZ and other lefties:
The most recent trailers and screenshots I've seen have Link holding his sword in his left hand.

And, as far as I know, the sword swings in Twilight Princess aren't motion-controlled yet.
