This is just a random thought that came to me.

In the interview with Keiji Inafune that was posted on Planet-Megaman, Inafune-san stated that Capcom would be shifting the focus of future Rockman games to Nintendo's consoles, specifially the Nintendo Wii. He said this was because he wanted to bring new innovation to the Rockman series, and that the Wii was the best console for this purpose.

AT least, I think that's what he said.

So, what kind of Megman games do you guys think we'll see on the Wii? Classic? X? Legends? Or maybe even a new Rockman series altogether?

And how do you think these games will take advantage of the WiiMote?

Personally, I'm hoping for a Megaman X FPS. You could use the WiiMote in different ways to execute attacks for different characters. Point and shoot for X, swing like a sword for Zero.

Or maybe a Battle Network game, with a Battle Chip Gate for the Wiimote.

Hell, maybe even Legends 3 could be a Wii exclusive!

So, what Rockman/Megaman games do you wanna Wii-fied.

And dear God, I hope Wily Wars for the Genesis is available for download on the VC.

You just sparked my imagination when you said Battle Chip gate for the WiiMote! :O

Instead of having it hook onto the bottom of the WiiMote, have a new PET of sorts, and have the WiiMote stick into the PET.

Mabye make it to where you're the Navi on the screen, from a FPS point of view, and when you Slot-In a Battle Chip, you point and click where you want to shoot/slash/throw it!

Just a thought... ^__^

Huh....maybe Capcom could put Megaman Zero 5 on the Wii. The Wii-mote could be used for swinging the Z-saber and targeting enemies with the Z-buster. The nunchuck could be used for dodging and parrying attacks.

And it would be really cool if Capcom did make Legends 3 for the Wii. How it might play, I'm not sure but I know it would have to be awesome.

Nah. A) I doubt there will be a Zero 5, and B) if there was one, they would probably release it for the GBA, like what they have done for all current 4, which is a Nintendo product

The Wii's a very cool place to bring back the Legends series; it's already a 3-D world, and they could possibly give it the Mario Galaxy and Twilight Princess treatment, with a cursor on the screen you use to perform actions.

A first-person shooter is an obvious choice; the Wii's practically built with shooters in mind. Why do you think everyone's so psyched about Metroid Prime 3?

Here's something you might not expect; a Battle Network strategy game, where you assemble a squad of navis and give them orders like you were using a computer mouse.

As long as it isn't like normal strategy games like that it could be good.

So it would basically be in the same vein as Fire Emblem?

Hmm, that sounds good, but you know what would be even better?

A Megaman X RTS.

I call it Megaman X: Maverick Hunter Tactics.

It'd play like the old Sega CD game Dark Wizard, but in real time.

Basically, you could play as a main character (X, Zero, or Axl) and lead a team of standard-issue soldier Reploids.

The object would be to lead your team through a battlefield, and fight your way through a horde of lesser enemies to defeat a Maverick or Mechaniloid somewhere in the area.

Every member of your unit could be customizable, and you could upgrade their weapons and abilities as you progress.

As HeatShadow mentioned before, you could use the WiiMote to direct your troops and issue commands, but here's a new kicker; a mic attachment for the Wii.

Occasionally, Alia or one of your soldiers could contact you via the WiiMote speaker, and you'd have to issue voice commands via the mic.

Cool, eh?[/quote]

I was actually thinking more along the lines of the Liberation Missions, but that would work too.

Personally, that's why I think that's why Fire Emblem and/or Advance Wars on the Revo would take off like a rocket, because of the point-and-click-ish ability of the controller. I can easily see the controller being used for various PET functions and minigames, or for just telling whatever navi you're using where to go with the sensor.

Myself? I'd love to see something like an FPS Legends or X game, or if they want some sort of ZX companion for the Revo, that too. Maybe combined with the internet capabilities we can even have an MMORPG/FPS of sorts.

My mind combined "Legends 3" and "Twilight Princess" and it went into little spasms of joy *_* I don't know if that sort of polish would be applied to a Legends 3, but oh my gods that would be sweet @_@

*cough* Anyway... That Battlechip Gate for the controller thing sounds pretty cool ^^ I wouldn't mind seeing something like that made into reality. Maybe Network Transmission for the new generation...

To be realistic, I think that the wiimote (Nunchuck is an action (to be exact: a ninja practice in which nuns are flung bodily in some direction), and not an item) makes a perfect buster. Srsly. You point and shoot. However, I find it difficult to assume that anothing other than time crisis sequels will really shine on Wii. It's perfect for time crisis.

That and I just think Wild Dog kicks arse.

That being said, Wii is not a really good contender unless you just have a game with better graphics, and you just slotto-in the Gamecube remote.

Frankly, I don't really understand how the Wiimote will work for an RPG like LOZ, when you're just walking around. It's literally build for first person...

Something you should keep in mind is the fact that the Nun-tossing controller is also well suited to third-person games (like Legend of Zelda, yes). Using the Nun-tossing attachment's control stick for actual character movement and the Wiimote for directing actions (and not just aiming), you can easily gain the perspective of sitting on your character's shoulder, physically telling him/her what to do. Maybe that's why they made Navi the cursor for Twilight Princess...

Oh! Shoot! Totally forgot about the analog stick..

Do you know just how much Black & White would rock if it were on the Wii?

Aside from that, Megaman might as well work pretty good on Wii. At least legends could shine on it. I don't see the other games utilizing the nun-tossing-controller for so much. The other games are 2-D and wouldn't need a point and click section. So, aside from legends, I can't see the Megaman games doing the greatest with the remote, unless of course you could now shoot in any direction you please. That would rock.

Huh. A game can be made for the Wii that does NOT utilize the full functionality if the Wii-mote.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl for example, will not. It will be played in the same way as SSBM. In fact, from what I've heard, you can even use a GameCube controller to play it.

Thing is, a game made for the Wii can take advantage of the potential of the Wii-mote. Or not. Wii games aren't forced into it at all. So I think a lot that's being said here is kinda moot.

Do I think Rockman games have a place on the Wii? Absolutely. There's just too much potential to play with. I'm certain Capcom will come up with something.

Yeah. Gamecube controllers have full functionality on the Wii.
I believe Brawl cannot use the convent-thrower-mote at all due to the number of buttons necessary for the attacks. I would really hate for Super Smash Bros Brawl to be Soul-Calibur-ized.
Though, Twilight Princess will probably be dual-compatible.

I might be just a bit too prejuidiced against nintendo rockman games because I didn't like Network Transmission.

ZX could just go with a gamecube controller. I doubt the 'chuck'd be used for it.

However, Ryuusei no Rockman seems like a good idea for it. You can point and click for chips in the menu, move from box to box with the control stick, fire the buster by jerking the 'chuck back, and aim chips to different locales. Heck, there could be a virus weakspot to aim for for extra damage. And there could be a set way to activate a chip, like through a slashing motion, or maybe some weird waving to make a neovariable do its thing.

Huh? Nintendo didn't make Transmission, though... so it's not like it's their fault.

The X series recently made a semi-jump to 3-D. Maybe they could make an X9 that, well...didn't suck. I imagine it would even be possible to create seperate control schemes for each of the characters. (Aim and shoot with X, use the Wiimote to control Zero's sabre, use the shoulder trigger on the Nunchuck and the B "trigger" to fire each of Axl's guns, etc.)

I personally liked it better when it was 2D, the 2.5D of the PS2 games only annoyed me. Which is probably why I never actually tried hard to buy them.
