Quick little replay of the explosion scene, and the cops are on their way! Not totally sure on his name, but Subaru's mom calls the Inspector Zenigata wannabe "Keibou-san" or something to that extent. And the police light on his head does work when he's driving his car/when the one on his car is on. Who can see it from the inside of his car without it sticking through a sunroof, I don't know. But he has it on when he's in pursuit!
Subaru meets War Rock in a vacant radiowave space after their contact and the guttural, raspy sound in Rock's grunts brings me back to Shadowman's pain in Axess 12. Ah, memories. After a short discussion, he senses some type of danger or something and hides in Subaru's trancer. Whenever he's in it throughout the episode, it's very reminiscient of the whole EXE character talks to you in the PET, so really no changes there. Just a radio wave background instead.
Eventually, after more slow explanations and dialogue, it looks like radio viruses are escaping a supernova of a star or maybe planet and their first target is earth's mass transit systems! Again, no real action, but some tension building at least. Hopefully it builds next week now, I assume with some transformation and battle. I almost feel like I should just watch them two at a time to make it feel like a complete eppy. I'm happy they're giving the detail to the scripts (presumably) as to not cram it into 9 minutes, but it's really still so slow right now.
Oh, and to back up what was mentioned a while back (game spoilers I guess) [spoil:cc5f15f1d2]near the end, Keibou is not physically driving his car, the steering wheel is going on it's own. So I assume that would be evidence of the navi's such as "Driverman," or whatever generic names they were given, existing in this time period. Don't see it or hear any mention of it to my ears, but I'm sure it's implied. [/spoil:cc5f15f1d2] _________________ Avatar art thanks to toberboobap, animated gif thanks to Dr. Wily II

That space where Subaru was talking to Warrock reminded me of Fossa Ambience, yes it did.
Well, we got some pretty nice music, and it's still nice that Ryuusei isn't cramming. This was a pretty effective cliffhanger. How will our hero defeat these Radio Metools and Billys, when he seems to have no clue himself!
I'm guessing that the viruses travelled along radio waves from the FM planet, and were picked up by the Terran transceivers and multiplied in the Net, resulting in the current virus outbreaks. Makes sense to me, since there are waves of different frequences out there, and radio waves are emitted by certain interstellar objects, so radio viruses could easily cross vast distances with this method. The thing is though, it would take centuries for them to actually reach Earth.
It amuses me that the Tranzer scan glows and fades before the Tranzer even passes over it. I'm also wondering if Keibou's light is implanted into his head or not. _________________ ' I don't care if the buzz isn't real- I can roleplay being drunk!'

Another nice episode for me personally. I start to enjoy this series more and more, even though I don't understand Japanese and this episode was really dialogue-heavy.
The animation was beautiful, I especially like those scenes with Subaru and Warrock in the radio space in the beginning and the last scenes when the viruses were attacking and Subaru tried to do something. I like the way they draw most of the characters and the backgrounds.
Warrock's design is very good IMO and he is likeable as a character but because of my limited knowledge of Japanese I don't really know if he told Subaru something significant about his past.
The music was very fitting as well and once again we got an exciting cliffhanger. The story develops slowly but it still doesn't bother me, in fact I think this is the right way to go. I am glad to see they are taking their time to build a solid foundation for the story to grow on. Maybe later in the series the story could pick up speed.
I look forward to the next episode. For me, this serie looks very promising, but I'll have to wait to find out. (I found Beast promising as well, but after episode 14 it became a big disappointment for me, I am sorry) _________________ This great avatar is made by Synchro-kun. Thank you! |

Couple things I want to mention.
First: While floating in this glowy radio space, Subaru sees WarRock, flips out and tries to run away. He doesn't get very far, though. Then, the second he feels sorry for the big scary alien, he can move freely. Go figure. :]
Second: Did anyone notice that Subaru was zapped of his soul for a while there?
Third: Subaru bashes his head against the window.
Fourth: Subaru humiliates himself on the train.
Fifth: I'm under the impression that WarRock is as curious about Earth as Subaru is about him. He seemed a little confused when Subaru was hiding from Luna and the others.
Sixth: I'm going to die from suspsense if I don't see the next episode.
Amazingly, I was right about the light that it Subaru. It really was [spoil:00f2418a4c]the FM Wave that allows Subaru to see FM's in their true form as well as the Wave Roads.[/spoil:00f2418a4c]
BTW, what's IMO? _________________

"IMO" means "In my opinion"
They have pretty much improved the animation since episode 1. (I think anyway) I also liked the way War Rock was in Subaru's transer. (Just like good ol' EXE ^_^)
I quite enjoyed this episode, seeing that it wasn't all rushed, but all the cliffhangers make me want to see the next episode so badly =D _________________ Don't come here that much anymore, might come in to post every now and again. |

In my opinion. Wow. How did I miss that?
Other thing I want to mention: At the beginging of the episode with Subaru floating in that radio space, his mouth moved for speech, but no words came out. VOICE OVER BLOOPER!!!
Anyone know(or think they know) how/why Subaru's soul was zapped out of him? That's about the only thing I didn't get. I mean, he could still speak and move but...yeesh. Creepy. _________________

Not true, if you turn on the volume loud enough, or if you use a headphone, you can hear him saying "ko ko wa?" |

Uhhh...Miyabi...Never heard of Auto Pilot?
I believe the blinking thingy on the...uhh...Inspector Gadget guy's head is to signal "Shit's goin' down!"
As well, I squealed "NUUUUU, LEGANCHOR! DON'T FALL TO YOUR DOOMLY DEATH! :<"
Nice episode though. _________________ The time is come. Bid farewell to your bloodstained past.

Some quick sum ups of conversations I caught:
Subaru attempts to tell his mother about the light he saw (aka WarRock), and she plays along a bit until she just tells him he needs some sleep.
After Subaru found WarRock via Visualizer, WarRock mentions he knows Subaru's father - and then refuses to answer on what happened to him. Poor Subaru :<
Argh cliffhanger >_< I need to watch the episode again. :\ _________________

Maybe it's just me, or War Rock said that the beings on FM Planet were out to destroy the Earth (which led to Subaru screaming on the train). Any clarifications on that?
And I really wonder how variations of the viruses that originated from the Net on Earth suddenly become part of an invading force from FM Planet...Bah. I wish I learned Japanese >_< _________________ Slur > j00

When I say the nerd kid from that side shot, I realized that he DOES look just like Jose from Cybersix. Maybe's HE'S behind all the problems! _________________ Red Green's words of wisdom:

I was re-watching the opening and I noticed something interesting.
In the scene where you see the Subaru/WarRock fusion floating through space, you see several silhouettes (presumed to be villains) slide past in the background.
I have reason to believe that these presumed villains are all based on constellations. I havn't confirmed this yet, but so far I have found strong evidence.
Bird man = Aquila or Apus
Bull = Taurus
Snake-like thing = Ophiuchus
Thing with fire & water in its hands = Libra
Twins = Gemini
I'll provide screenshots as soon as I can. _________________

Yeah, some of us were discussing that in the spoiler chan a while back. I said WarRock looks a little like a European Dragon, or a Snake and I still stand by that; watch the animation in this episode and it definately looks like that. _________________

...and I've actually brought up those connections in both the Ep. 1 and 2 Talkbacks, and there has been some light discussion by others there too. You're right on track with my thoughts, AMZ, except we know for sure the bird is Cygnus, which is also the name of a constellation, based on a swan. Even though an ugly duckling he is. _________________ Avatar art thanks to toberboobap, animated gif thanks to Dr. Wily II

I noticed the soulless Subaru thing. I thought it was weird, myself. But cool. I wonder if it'll be a one time thing or if it will actually play into things later in the series.
Yeah, I know it sounds dumb, but they seem to be pointing out small details here and there as if to set up. I just hope I'm not disappointed.
So far, this really looks like a good series. ^^ I can't wait to see more of it! _________________ Yes, I am the Neko..... NekoEnzan! <3 ^.^

I think what WarRock actually said was that the Denpa Viruses were actually from outer space. I don't know any more Japanese than you do, but I think an astonishing revalation like that would cause Subaru to burst out like that.
Has anyone noticed that since Subaru met WarRock, he's been a tad bit more animated? I think WarRock's unknowingly helping Subaru out of his shell. :] _________________

A couple things in this ep I found VERY interesting....
*While Subaru and War Rock (or Warlock, if you prefer) are standing on the balcony looking at the Wave Road, I'm fairly certain that War Rock mentions that he knows Daigo Hoshikawa, Subaru's father. And when Subaru starts grilling War Rock for answers, War Rock claims he doesn't know anything.
*During the train ride, I think War Rock mentioned something about a war with an AM planet.
*Unlike the old Cyberworld viruses, The Denpa viruses are capable of causing FAR greater disasters than exploding ovens.
*Just like EXE before, Ryuusei starts us off with two basic viruses, Mettools, and Billys.
But all in all, I agree with the rest of you. The show is really starting to gain steam, but the cliffhangers are KILLING ME!
I wish Subaru would've at least transformed before the episode ended.
But IMO, the next episode is what's gonna make or break the series. I'm looking forward to seeing how Subaru is gonna use Battle Cards while he's transformed. _________________

We can't even be sure if he'll be good or bad at 'net battle' strategies! We knew Netto was good only because he had a norm navi before getting Rockman. Yet Subaru (or anyone else for that matter) hasn't had an FM. All we know is he used a sword card to kill a buncha denpa viruses that were eating his pancakes! _________________ The time is come.
