What's your favorite video game besides the MegaMan/RockMan series'?
I myself kinda Like Star Wars BattleFront for PS2, and the Lord of the Rings Video game series.

Tony Hawk games are kinda good too, besides American WasteLand. All you do is run back and forth skating for various people for the whole game. All of the others have at least SOME point to it.

What do you think?

I'd definitely go with Mario, Metroid, Soul Calibur and Devil May Cry.

-Mario is the definitive adventure/platformer series. Sorry Sonic, but until you equal the staggering amount of explorability as Super Mario World, you're stuck playing second fiddle.

-I could never really get into Metroid until I picked up on Metroid Prime and Zero Mission. Halo may try to wow people with cool military battles, but nothing can beat the feeling of exploring a hostile alien world alone like Metroid can.

-I'm a big fan of fighting games, but most just come off as arrogant and aimed towards button-mashers. The Soul Calibur games, on the other hand, offer some fantastic battles while giving you a real sense of combat. That, and the killer create-a-fighter mode in SC III. If Namco can make the CaF more open-ended and give it more options, and improve the strategy quest mode in time for SC IV, they'll be golden.

-Finally, Devil May Cry. The second one was a bore. The first and third ones have no equal in the world of action games. Nuff said.

There are games out there besides MegaMan?

Seriously, I don't have any games outside of MegaMan, short of old Pokemon games, which I don't really like anymore.

The Boktai series, is obviously, my favorite series. It has such interesting plot and fun things to research. Like how I found out not too long about that in the original novel, Carmilla, Carmilla was a lesbian vampire. It made the Boktai series absolutely senseless until I realized how girly Sabata was. Now the universe is back in balance Cool

The Nippon Ichi games are very challenging for me, but I do love Katamari XD

The legend of zelda series. Everybody loves a good zelda game here and there.
Pokemon. No explanation for why though.
Kingdom Hearts- because of its way of making disney characters look cool. plus they include cloud.

Being a pretty serious gamer, it's hard for me to just pick out a handful of favorites, and a lot of mine are series as well. Obvious biggies are Final Fantasy (7, 10, 8, 6, X-2, 9, 1-5 [all clumped together] in order of faves, not counting GameBoy ones or one's I haven't played yet. I could write a term paper on the so many variables that make me put them that way.), Mario's, Zelda's, Chrono's, Xeno's, KH's, RE's, Prince of Persia's, Onimusha's. Liked Star Ocean: Til the End of Time, but never played any previous ones in that series. Old school games for my Sega Master System like Shinobi, Out Run, and Alex Kidd in Miracle World. Classic NES games such as Crystalis, the Adventures of Bayou Billy or the corporate shill device that was a game known as McKids. Equal opportunity action/adventure/puzzle solving the McDonald's way! But it was really challenging. All were games ahead of their time and so need to be remade. Sports games generally are all the same with tweaks every year, but NBA Jam was so fun and influential, spawning variations of it for other sporting games. And don't you want to know who would win a game pitting the Beastie Boys against Bill Clinton and P-Funk legend George Clinton? Laughing Command and Conquer: Red Alert was cool, probably my favorite strategy game. The standard button mashing fighters like Street Fighter or K.O.F. are up there, as I am a manic button masher. So to answer your question, those...and Paperboy.

I've heard so much about that series from MMBN4-5. Never played it though. I thought Capcom was making crap up about Django and all that stuff, but I didn't know it was an actual game. What is this game about anyway?

Oh, I have plenty of other favorites. There's Klonoa, ( Which, if you have not heard of it, that's ok. ^__^; ) Digimon, Kingdom Hearts, Sly Cooper, Boktai, Zelda, and... well, this one came out recently but it's already a big hit: Okami!

I mean, for once, you don't play as a character who's even remotely humanoid. It's a wolf! The great Amaterasu! Plus, there are a whole bunch of ways to attack enemies besides using your weapon. ( You have a magic paint brush along with your weapon. Slash, burn, and other tecniques.) Besides the gameplay, I usually play games solely for the story, and Okami has a GREAT story. Just when you think the game's over and it's 'The End', something else happens! :D

How could you not realize that Django in BN4 was from a video game? Okay, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, I didn't realize it myself until I got to the part that mentioned that Django would "eat apples to keep up his strength". That was the give-away; who stops for a snack when they're in a fight for their life except in a video game?

As far as the game itself goes, the part about where Django and Otenko go around go around hunting vampires is partly true; they fight Immortals, a catagory that Vampire falls under. They also fight against wolves, golems, and sinister snake ladies, all with the power of the Sun (Gun del Sol in the first game, and Sol deVice in the second) in [Django's] hands. The best part (or most intuitive, at least) is that the game cartridge comes with a solar sensor to reenergize your weapon by actually going outside and getting some sun. Sunlight is good for other things, too, like activating some panels, finding enemies, and seeing unseen objects that glint in the light. The sun is only mandatory for certain parts though, so you don't have to go out for every moment of gameplay.

Now for my favorite, not-Megaman games. I'm a big fan of the Metroid, Sonic, Tomb Raider, Katamari, Jak (of Jak and Daxter fame), and Boktai series. Others that I'm fond of are:
-F-Zero GX (one of the only racing games I'm actually good at),
-Crash Bandicoot 2 & 3 (the later games just weren't the same without Naughty Dog...)
-Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow (Boktai, eat your heart out)

And I'm sure that there's others, but these are the ones I remember right now.

Before BN4, I didn't even know that Boktai even existed. I just assumed that they were just adding stuff to make the game seem more interesting.

Other games I like are
Cabelas Dangerous Hunts (though your character runs too slow) for PS2

TrackMainia Sunrise for PC. Now THAT game has a pretty good track editor. The Underground part to it was really interesting!

Crash Twinsanity was pretty good, except for the Music.

MX vs. ATV and ATV Offroad Fury 2 were awsome.

MLB Slugfest Loaded is a really cool Baseball game because it lets you punch when you're tagging someone out, and you can pick fights with the pitcher and charge the mound. While you're ON FIRE!!!!!!

Boktai is an absolute must for me. It's got EDGE. It's EDGY. Yes. I said Edgy. Shoot me now with the Gun Del Hell X_X

Legend of Zelda. Nothing like Sword swinging action and fighting monsters! And the puzzles! OH THE PUZZLES! :D

Kirby. Mindless addictive pink action. 'Nuff said.

Metroid. It's spaceh. And a badass chick to boot.

Konjiki no Gash Bell: Yuujou no Zakeru. I know there are only like...three titles, but the same goes for Boktai. I like Gash Bell, and I like a game where you get to play as most of the characters from the series. Thusly said, Collectibles and fighting. WIN.

Hmm, I would have to say Fire Emblem (POR especially) or Zelda.

Fire Emblem because of the insanely deep stories and challenging strategy.

Zelda because... it's ZELDA

My current favorite non-Megaman series are Star Fox, Smash Bros., and Sonic the Hedgehog.

- Almost every Star Fox game has been a classic. Except for Adventures and Assault. Those two could have been better.

- I love Smash Bros. because every battle is so unpredictable. Because of the wide variety of items and weapons, you never know who's gonna win.

- Sonic is a series that I've been playing ever since Sonic 3 came out. Sega has done an excellent job on most of the Sonic games, but lately Sonic's games have become pretty crappy. Sonic Riders and Shadow the Hedgehog, I'm looking at you.

Sonic Riders wasn't a bad game to me at all. ShTH was bad, yes, but so far SEGA has been doing a good job at Sonic games still, especially the coming-up titles.

Anyway, I would say either the Sonic series or Super Smash Bros. Sonic for its insane speed and how fun it's to play and dodge along, and Super Smash Bros. for it's unpredictability and the joy with its multiplayer mode.

*Looks at collection*

I have to say that I'm currently sitting on Naruto: Ultimate Ninja (Narutimate Hero) and Kingdom Hearts (I still don't own KH II yet) I only really have Rockman games for my DS/GBA but I would purchase Bleach games in a hearbeat.
