Chestnut is one of the many puns Toriyama used when he named his characters in DB/Z. The majority of them involve food or music, an obvious one is Vegeta=Vegetable, or the rest of his family is all undergarments (Briefs), Bulma=Bloomers, Bra, Trunks, etc. Krillin's means "chestnut" and Marron (daughter...not his ex-GF) is usually connected with "water chestnut." Fans like me just call them the Chesnut family because...well, it's not like they have a last name and it gives them a little more association than just abbreviating it as 18KM or JKM all the time.

Yes, I believe in your first reply to me you mentioned that he got 18 because somebody up there felt sorry for killing him all the time, or something like that. If I'm deciphering that comment right.

In just a little less than 6 months since I joined, I'm now a popular green mystery data thread! Wait a sec...shouldn't it be blue if it's all special and rare...does that mean I'm just ordinary now?! Am I just a cheap 20 Zenny loser?! T_T Of course not, nothing about me or this thread is ordinary or normal! So thanks to my frequent groupies and anybody else who's given me any type of kind words. I've been having fun cranking out new pics as often as possible. You've all helped me get out of a rut and got me trying to draw more original and unique pics again. Hopefully I'll continue to improve and, even though I'll probably never get a fun job illustrating or designing, my time making pics here has gotten me to enjoy drawing again. And as long as somebody out there likes it, I'm happy. So thanks, all. Here's to hoping there's plenty more to come. There will be one next week at least!

X-Shunin's request, because I could handle it relatively quickly: Chibi Dancing Searchman!

Making Searchy's legs into chibi form is quite annoyingly tough. They look deformed enough to me. I decided making him sorta dancing went well with Karaoke Laika, so that explains the pose. X-Shunin just wanted him cutesy. Sorta a disco-ish pose, but I didn't dress him up at all...since I didn't do anything different to the Laika chibi and it would look odd if he's using them together.

And don't ask me why, but I decided to follow the crowd and start a DeviantArt account. I'm such a tool! Kidding. Probably never gonna get my website finished or find one that gives me enough space, so I'll use it as an alternative if people don't like Imageshack to get my stuff. Still getting used to uploading and stuff, especially with it being so slow at times, so right now there's really not much. I'll try to put up some stuff you haven't seen there and some old ones from this thread. Hopefully it'll be more full this weekend. So, if you want to harrass me over there, feel free!

Introducing the rejected follower of Faltzer: Burnerman~Storm Owl Beast Out Edition! (Insert your owl battle cry here.) Had some issues with this combination, as their color schemes, while somewhat similar, could have been a pain if I made him look too much like Lt. Owl. So I made him a green baret, rather than make him look too Christmas-y with a heavier use of green on his body. The little puffy flaming feathers just kept multiplying after I put one on his chest. Looked better than the "spotted owl" version I tried, which made him look all glittery and Cosmoman-ish. Sorta neat, but it was too much. As much as I wanted to make fiery towers of flames or a cool double cyclone attack, my skills wouldn't allow it. So I felt the pose I used fit Storm Owl to a T. And a decent blue flame background to tie things together (well, on the DA version).

And to HeatShadow, I haven't forgotten about your request, but I have a few things on my To Do List first in this order:
1.) Box of Frosted Battle Cards 2.) Wily family Christmas Photo 3.) Ambiguous something that I may or may not have to do first 4.) KH/RHPS costume party request.
So right now, my ETA on that is sometime by January. But that's just a guesstimate. It's in my head and will get done, but that's my FYI for ya.

Heh, that's awesome! The owl look makes me think of some famous mascot, yet the fusion looks strong enough to hold its own! I can just imagine the stomp attack, and the deadly swooshing.

Sweet. It's still too bad that we never saw an Asteroid or Zoano Burnerman.

Man, that Beast Out form's gonna make his dash attack very hard to dodge. Love the art, though perhaps it seems that the wings could have been better. Hmm.

Would he be weak to cursor type attacks? That's something like how you beat owl.

Frosted battle cards, they're magically delicious!

Yep, so now I've ripped off Lucky Charms AND Trix. I was just going to draw the box, but I felt it was too bland on it's own, so I quick drew up little chibi Roll and Cygnus. Many issues artistically due to 1) never having drawn any of them before, 2) only using the Coro Coro manga promo to get their outfits right, and 3) being a joke, wasn't a high priority to get it to look real cool. I didn't bother shading, since, well, there isn't much done in Ryuusei. Definitely could've used a ruler to draw the box, but it's close enough to straight looking. My weak attempt at text on the side...not so much. :/ Not to mention I had to digitally add a few things to Cygnus and he's all squiggly in parts due to my lack of skill using a mouse to draw. Deviantart is being a jerk and not uploading a thing for me, so it's not up there. You can check back and maybe it will be.

Edit: Well...I think it's uploaded to DA. It's not showing up in my gallery or recent pics, no matter how many times I delete it and re-upload or edit it. But the direct link works and I have one deviation more in my total number. Weird. Here's the link, since you might not find it: Battle Cards DA

IPC is Enzan's company from the EXE series, but it was noticed in the first episode of the Ryuusei anime series that a microwave was an IPC product. So I just ran with it and made an IPC "food division." Well, the cards obviously aren't food for people, but for the FMs in their merged form, it appears it is to an extent. So it sorta logically fits with what they make. What the actual letters stand for...I don't know. Not sure if it was ever mentioned.

If we had a little more info on the game and everything, I probably could think of a decent free prize inside. I'd also have more than 4 little cards to copy and paste in the bowl too... Smile

Well, thank you. I'm an odd one. It's more of a product of watching too many cartoons and comedies over the years than anything.
