Yet another question from brainless ole me. This time having to do with Fire Emblem for the Gamecube!
How exactly does Fixed Growths mode work? Are the stat gains for characters pre-programmed into the game, or does it base the gains off of a character's normal growth percentages? As in, if a character has a 25% chance to gain a point in Strength, will they then gain a point in Strength every 4 levels? If so, do the Band items apply to Fixed Growths mode? If I give a character with 45% in Speed gains a Band that increases their Speed gains by 5%, will they then earn a point in Speed every 2 levels instead of every 3?
I can't seem to find such an explanation on any of the FAQs. _________________ Stuck In The Middle With You; a Metroid and Halo crossover

No one has really been able to figure out how exactly Fixed growth works. People come with weird algoriths and stuff for it, but no one can really tell you.
Doesn't matter, since Ike will always be the uber pwning machine that he is.
EDIT: I found this on the G-faqs forums

Also enemy classes and equipped weapons/items can alter the type and amount of EXP points that are gained. In general, the more EXP points you accumulate, the higher the chance of receiving a stat rise in a particular stat. Characters also have a predetermined amount of EXP points in particular stats from the very beginning, called Base EXP (points). These contribute to the amount of Base EXP, and are practically used up in the very first level up.
Formula for EXP points
EXP points = EXP gained x (Unit's growth rate + Equipped weapon's alteration + Equipped items' alteration + Enemy class' alteration)
Note: The maximum amount of EXP points accumulated is 255.
Formula for stat rise
Stat rise during a Level Up = EXP points / 100
Note: EXP points that are not used up during a Level Up remains.
Example~ Ilyana's Magic
Ilyana's Magic growth rate is 50%
Her Magic Base EXP is 45%
Say she kills a Halberdier boss and she is equipped with Elthunder and a Mage Band. She gains 100 EXP in the process and levels up for the first time.
Halberdier's class alteration is -5% Magic (also -5% Luck, +5% HP, +5% Def, but we're only interested in Magic right now)
Elthunder's weapon alteration is nothing to do with magic so I'll ignore it
Mage Band's item alteration is +10% Magic
Formula for EXP points:
Magic EXP points = EXP gained x (Unit's Growth Rate + Equipped weapon's stat alteration + Equipped items' stat alteration + Enemy class' stat alteration) = 100 x (.50 + (-.5) +.10) = 55
However we're not finished there, because Ilyana already had 45 EXP points in magic. So she now has 55 + 45 EXP points in Magic, i.e 100.
Formula for stat rise:
Stat rise during a Level Up = EXP points / 100 = 100 / 100 = +1 Magic
100 EXP points are used up for +1 Magic. There is no remainder here, but if there is a remainder it is carried onto future level ups to be used up. Also note that Ilyana's Base EXP points have all been used up as well.

Yeah, it's full of mumbo jumbo. _________________
