Alright you two, enough. Just let everyone have their own opinion and let them like/hate what they want, okay? =p

you know, AMZ, if you really felt the need to, you could just hold the Wiimote in your left hand? i don't think they were designed to be right-handed...

w00t! 500th post!

Well I know the Wiimote can be used in either hand, however the analog stick is designed to be held in the left hand. But that's not the thing. It's the fact that Link is right-handed in TP that I strongly dislike (and a LOT of my classmates dislike a right-handed Link, as well).

At least the Gamecube version will still feature a left-handed Link.

Speaking of the Wiimote, does anyone know when the special Zelda controller will be released?

Well, it would be awkward for the majority of the population that is right-handed to play as a left-handed character.

Oh, and that controller is a fake, proven months ago.

Huh. Too bad. Would've been cool if it was real.

It is? The Nunchuk is symmetrical.

I'm still confused about why a left-handed Link is important. Most of the characters named Link through the ages are entirely different people. It just doesn't strike me as overly important. At least, not important enough to be throwing words like "loathe" at Nintendo.

Well as some of you may already know, I plan to go into game designing when I graduate from college. I've recently begun to look for job openings at Nintendo. My complaining won't change anything now, but maybe I can contribute to possible future Zelda games.

As long as the control set up can be configured for both hands, how Link holds his sword is purely aesthetical and as such complaining about it is merely...complaining.

...If it's so awkward for the right-handed portion of the population to play as a left-handed character that Nintendo felt the need to switch which hand Link uses, how is it not just as awkward for the left-handed portion of the population to play as a right-handed character. I'm just saying that this seems like bad judgement on Nintendo's part. They should have made it so that you can use either hand.

I wonder really....has anyone tried maybe going to options or something and maybe telling your Wii that the Wii-Mote is in the left hand and maybe Link will hold the sword in the Left Hand?

I haven't tried it, but you can do that sort of thing in Wii Sports, i wonder if it's the same for Zelda: TP?

P.S.: LMAO to you Pyo for your Roy Mustang, Sigma, and Dr. Light Mii's, LMAO, hilarious!

You cannot. Nintendo actually flipped the entire world over for the Wii version. The GCN version's maps, enemies, and even Link, are all Mirror Images to the Wii's.

If every single thing is intentionally flipped, why are people getting worked up over it? Then it's just a fun, freaky aesthetic thing they purposely did and shouldn't be taken as any kind of "mistake," like even some articles have pointed out. It's just Hyrule light world humans vs. Hyrule dark world animal people with a new twist. What a twist! If it's true that it's all flipped, I did not know that. And it makes this whole deal even more pointless.

I just wanna know how throwing cartridges in the wash entered this righty vs. lefty conversation... :]

Right-handed people are the majority of the population. Left-handed currently are not.

Since it would've been too much trouble to make it dual-handed, they should cater to the majority.

How is it too much trouble? All they did to make him right handed was invert the screen, why can't they just put in code to invert it again if someone wants to play left handed?

I was just wondering the same thing. It's possible there might be cheat codes that can re-mirror the screen & make Link left-handed again.

Who knows what the after effects could have been? It's possible to be done, but I'm not sure how long it takes to invert a game of this magnitude. It could result in them pushing back the release date, which would make the Wii launch look a bit barren.

It's fine now, so I'm not going to worry about it.

I beat the first temple in Twilight Princess five minutes ago as of this post. That was a pretty fun boss fight...I mean, yeah, it was simple, but having that kind of control was fun. \o\

What I'd like to know right now is how the PS3 preorders in amazon.jp going in less than 20 minutes makes the news,
but the Wii preorders in amazon.jp AND toysrus.jp gone in less than two minutes didn't Confused

Looks like I have to camp for mine T_T

Simple, the PS3 is more than twice the price of the Wii and, more importantly, came out first. Had the Wii come out on the 17th and the PS3 on the 19th, the Wii would have gotten most of the news coverage and the PS3 significantly less.
Besides, the Wii release day was very peaceful, whereas the PS3 release was littered with riots and shootings and muggings - and that's news.

Sad, but true. The Wii wasn't ignored at all by the blogosphere, though.

EDIT: Also, there's good news for Wii owners with Wii-owning friends. It's been confirmed that you can indeed bring your game saves over onto another Wii (Important: So long as both Wiis have BOTH updates). Just copy your game save to an SD card and you can pop that card into another Wii no problem.

Well, from a journalistic standpoint on top of what Zippo said, Sony is a larger corporation, with more at stake to get their product to sell than Nintendo. They've been in the news more recently with their laptop batteries failing and whatnot and need whatever better news they can get (yeah, yeah, shootings, muggings, that's not what I mean.) Since they more or less have been the "console king" in recent years, they get awarded with more pub in the news. Sorry to use my sports analogies again, but just like how the big market teams like the New York Yankees get more coverage than the smaller market teams like the Baltimore Orioles, for example. The ones on top unfairly get more publicity. But media outlets are going to recognize the value in stories with Sony more, since they aren't limited to games, than they are Nintendo. That's just the way they think.
